Project Intent
The urban fabric of Philadelphia is defined by its rowhome typology. Two to three stories, 15-20 feet wide. Within this format, rowhomes express themselves in a wide variety of ways as showcased in this series. I was particularly interested in exploring forgotten neighborhoods to find homes that have become a collage of time. The non-straight lines of water-damaged cornices and boarded windows tell a story about the neighborhood’s past and present. These homes were found in a variety of neighborhoods through West and North Philadelphia.
Editing
The goal of this project is to highlight the individual character of derelict rowhomes. To strengthen this intent, I decided to edit out all distracting elements such as houses next door (if there were any), power lines, and cars to present these unique homes in a consistent way. Additionally, the sky of each image was replaced with a simple color gradient to complement the aesthetic of the home. - Zábava
This is tight. Well done. A piece I can send to folks who don't quite get NFTs yet. Great work!
Had philly change the zoning on empty land that used to be a row home, and allow for single family houses to be built, it would help with safety and parking. Many row homes have parking issues.
I find this very interesting since I grew up in a row home in South West Philadelphia. You are right, row homes do have a certain type of charm since they are very old. I remember family members told me that the row home that I grew up in was made in the early 20s and it had really nice masonry (brick laying) on the face of the buildings. Sadly, after finding out last week that our old row home has been abandoned and the front porch is falling apart. I guess it's the way it is in Philly. However, I'm happy that someone out there is taking pictures of these abandoned row homes and creating awesome peices of art!
Love those pictures of those historic rowhouses of Philadelphia! You are doing a great job documenting these abandoned houses and taking pictures of these houses so other people can learn about the architectural history of the city. Great video and work!
Well done man! 💯 Looking forward to seeing what you create and share next. Keep up the inspiring work.
Thanks Cody! This was a unique experience for me working with a production company to put this together.
This is a great video! Well done
This turned out so great!!!
Loved this! Way more interesting and legit than I thought this would be. Really inspiring to just go out there and be creative with approaching any scenery.
That is an amazing project, and great for Philly.

Great video Chris!
Thanks Frazier!
I would love to see a video of the whole process of your NFTs and how you market them to get more eyes on it.
We need more videos 📹 🙏
Awesome man. I came across these Rowhomes a couple days ago. All I can say is "What a brilliant collection". So impresively photographed. The editing is top notch. The idea is genius. Much respect. I created a collection on opensea called Wave Photography. The only thing is I can't stand twitter. My question to you, do you think rowhomes would have blown up with using twitter? As far as I've been reading, Twitter is the top dog for exposing and promoting NFT's. Any thought? And no worries if you don't reply. I know how it goes sometimes. Thanks and wish you the best. Subscribing for sure.
