Cumin seeds or ellu can be used. Excellent mami...Thanks for including y uppu seedai vedikum... People must use only powdered salt. If rock salt is used seedai will burst

One tip I read somewhere that helped me very much is to poke a very tiny hole in uppu seedai to avoid oil blast/ spill. light a oru kuthu kuthittu ennai la pottaa vedikave vedikaadhu

Thank. You so much for sharing the recipe. I followed your recipe except I live in USA cannot make the flour by rice flour machine. Instead I grinded in mixie and sieved it well. Salt and sweet seedai came out so good. Thanks a lot

Vedikkaathu.sedaiya tight taa uruttinaa athaavathu vegum pothu yennai seedayin ulley irangum puthu sedaiyin ushna kaatru veliyera mudiyaathathaal ullirukkum pressure rinaal thaan vedikkum. Athaavathu seedaiyay urutti podum pozhuthu urundayil sirithu virisal athaavathu mayrizhai virisal irukkumaaru urutti pottaal vedikaathu.
Mami if u add coconut to Vella sedai and uppu sadai after 3 days it won't get spoilt?
Generally they add kopparai instead of coconut.which is d best kopparai or coconut
You can use coconut grated but slightly roast and after add with flour

Thanks for the wonderful step by step process, we followed it and the Uppu Seedai turned out very well, however the vellai Seedai dissolved completely. You had mentioned that the vellam will melt when in oil, but despite taking care it dissolved. Any further tips will help

Last year when I tried by watching some other channels, my seedais horribly bursted.. U have mentioned regarding the dancing padham of the flour which is very important. This time I followed each and every steps whatever u said and it s miraculous!! I thought it's impossible to make seedai without breaking, and only a bramhin can make it perfectly! 😃 Thanks a lot... I have made both vella seedai and uppu seedai and it's fabulous!!! keep up the good work!! 🙏🙏 (just for my safety I have put holes with safety pin on each seedais..)
