Very interesting. Thank you for all the great new information.
Thanks Mr. McNeal! Always interesting.
Thanks Gil. Always enjoy your videos and looking at conifers relaxes the soul
Love your introduction to some semi mature plant specimens. I have the metasequoia glp. North light in my garden and I have access to 15 year old specimen at an arboretum close to my house in the Mid-Atlantic area and based on my observations, the metasequoia glp. North light will ultimately reach 30 feet in height and perhaps half as wide. I will be relocating my specimen from where I have it planted since I think it will ultimately will encroach onto my neighbor's property. Beautiful specimen of a tree .
Mr McNeal, what I am having hard time locating s a fabulous weeping pine that is excellent in a small garden called pinus densiflora pendula. I had one until my neighbor's tree fell and decimated it and some other rare specimens I had in my garden bed. It's unfortunate that it's not popular in the trade. 😢
I will keep my eyes open for it, but I don't remember seeing it anywhere
Gil. Question: I have a grafted Picea pungens 'Waldbrunn'. Very similar with the lateral branching, but much more blue than green color. I was not aware that a Picea abies 'Waldbrunn' exists. Were they created at the same nursery in Germany? Any info would be helpful.
I had a smaller one that had a more green color. It's always interesting when the same cultivar has different color or characteristics
Would the Schirmans Nordlicht be OK in a relatively shady spot (a couple of hours morning sun only?)
I believe that it would do fine there. You might try one in a pot or plant it in the ground for a year or two. It would transplant easily
