Asha Crews said her 6-year-old son, Sincere, was placed in a “restraint chair” inside a broom closet at Mariam Boyd Elementary. Crews said the closet has no air conditioning and had mold.

The mother should press charges against the school and the teacher for doing that to her son

The school conditions are awful. That is what should anger all the parents of that school.

This is a awful thing to happen. Just curious was the child in a special needs class with a teacher that is trained to work with children with disabilities or in a regular class with a teacher not trained to work with kids with disabilities. Maybe when you go to college to be a teacher you should also have to take classes on how to work with kids with disabilities. My step daughter and niece work in elementary schools they assist teachers with kids with behavioral issues. They had to go to training and earn a certificate for this. If all teachers had to take this training maybe we could weed out people who don't have the patience to work with special needs kids.

It is sad enough that this child is put in a restraint, but to be locket in a closet too, this is sad. If they do not have trained professionals for this situation, why do they take in kids with special needs. My heart broke for this poor baby. So traumatic.

Who would ever think to ask a school if their child has been placed in restraints? I never would, i would never even think it was a possibility and i raised 5 children. If i had even thought this was a possibility i would have assumed the school would contact the parents and speak with them about it.

They never even showed her in this clip.
What does what she looks like matter? This isn’t a beauty pageant for crying out loud, this is about a school placing an autistic chikd in a restraint chair inside a closet. She has done nothing wrong except try to get an explanation, assurance it won’t happen again and an apology. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

The mother wasn’t evan shown in this clip. I saw her in a different clip and she looked like an average person so i have no idea what you are talking about. The only woman shown besides the reporters in this clip was a woman that was an advocate for children with special needs.
