My closed captioning got the author's name wrong, & without that other's help would never have found it. I told him "I'm reposting the information as many places as a I can." and then ordered the book. As much as Tucker reads, anything he takes the time to read twice must be worthwhile. If it's as good as we suspect, we should both share it with others.

One December when I was 16 y/o, my family and another were visiting a relative's hunting lodge way up north in Ashland, Maine. Early one morning while we waited for breakfast, me and my friend went outside to mess around. Fifteen minutes later, when breakfast was ready, we were lost in the woods. Twenty-nine hours later search and rescue guys found us shivering, sniveling, and calling for our moms (literally) about four miles from the lodge. I learned humbling respect for Maine's great outdoor and its vast wilderness.
Most of us Maine-iacs carry a compass instead of our phones, in those dense woods.

As a youngster growing up in backwoods of Maine we kids had! to learn about the stars and moon and sun, they helped us so much, especially when planning our gardens, and the edible plants and venison etc. And we only had radios to learn about cities far away or hear about other countries. Felt like we were really Rich when a bunch of us kids piled into someone's car and got to go see a movie 7miles away! Not many could afford a car then either, nor indoor! plumbing!, early 1940's.
