    Thank you for the video. My husband and I had two 2005 MDXs. We were very satisfied for years, two hundred thousand miles and serviced by nearby Honda Dealer. Recently test drove and had heart set on beautiful 2016 MDX. The 3 recalls had been addressed; vehicles has hundreds of technical service bulletins. Told Honda could not run diagnostics, only ACURA Dealer could run diagnostics/computer on new MDXs. We drove many extra miles thru heavy traffic. During test drive with electronic shifter, when pressing gas pedal, car repeatedly hesitated before moving forward. Acura ran diagnostics and reported all was up to date and okay. Decided too much electronic stuff to break and have $$$ repairs. Decided not to buy the car. Naysayers don't realize that every negative they imagine applies to a lever shifter as well. All it does, is "press" an internal button when you move the lever. And it can't change the positions automatically.
    And it is trivial to use. The D button is easy to find by touch. For reverse, just drag your hand down the array. When your finger falls in the trigger hole, pull the trigger.

    Late to the party, but this was still useful. I just got a Honda Insight, and my concern was when the car dies or it has no power. This and another video talk about access to it in the hood of the vehicle. I know Tesla used to have that problem and when it died and had to be towed, the car could not be moved. I don't know if they fixed that.

    • @makb5354
      @makb5354 Před rokem

      No they didn't. You still need a special over $200 tool to move to neutral for towing if the car will not start. Yet most people get towing because they can't start the vehicle. The salesman here conveniently tells you not to worry about it because Honda gives you few years of free towing. Well, what he doesn't tell you that you have to pay after few years, right? Or, what happens if there is no Honda towing near by. On course that goes on on all the push button shifters now on all brands but different brands deal with switching to neutral different way. Subaru has handle shifter but apparently if car is dead you still need screwdriver to push into specific hole to engage neutral. At least it's screwdriver and not $200 tool and screwing under the hood.

    Had my Honda for over a year, great vehicle. Sure you get kinda used to the button thing but no, it's not better then have a stick to move into gear. I hate it. For somthing you use everytime you get in the car should not be this annoying to use.
