Great review! Good seeing that Scott is doing well. We served together.
Michigan is 700-750 feet above sea level, first time I've heard it called high altitude! :D
So many choices out there it's good to see comparison videos like this. Thanks 👍
Hope to do more like this in the future when Builders/Pilots schedule allow for it. It was enjoyable for us as well.
Thank U very much for the video of two different CH750s. Really appreciated. 👍
You are VERY welcome. Thank you for your support!
Thanks BrYan and thanks to these gentlemen.
Thank YOU Tom! I think we ALL enjoyed producing this one. Always good to have the "Aviation Conversation" with Builders/Pilots.
Sweet, I've been wondering about this comparison myself. 👍👍👍 Plus, I remember when "Red Bird" was posted on Barnstormers. Very good points on the differences between them.
Great video. But to be honest I was really surprised there were no questions or details how they fly differently. I know the published numbers but it would have been great to hear real world info like cruise speeds on both, stall speeds on both. etc.
Great editing, thanks for making us look good!
You're a natural! Thanks for showing off your CH 750 Cruzer!
Go NAVY!!!
Thanks for carving out some time to give us all a tour!
That was a really good video!
Thank You Scott! Much appreciated!
Cool video!!
Great Video!
This was fun!
Great flight, greetings to you from Libya🤝😘
Hello Libya! Thank You for taking the time to say hello and supporting from your country! :-)
Sheldon is a Pimp, awesome new bird
Gotta love the Cruzer with Ul Power 350is
Is that on your bucket list? Thanks for watching!
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel Im trying to figure out best kit for me. #1 is the Cruzer with Ul Power 350is or Apex from Edge. Im currently researching Kitfox and Rans. I always go back to Zenith.
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel Bryon I love watching your channel awesome content.
Now we need a CH750 Stol Super duty Vs CH 801 comparison!
What was the difference in take off roll?
👍👏🏻
Great comparison from real owners. I noticed a metal bar behind the pilot's head in the Cruzer and I've not seen it on other Cruzers? What is its purpose?
It is part of the folding wing kit.
@@scottmiller4711 Cool! It would be awesome to see a video of that process. Also, how much weight does that feature add?
@@markthibault8579 I have never folded them. It was installed when I got the kit. Not very practical and I would not recommend it as an option.
Question for Scott. The tires and rims don't look like stock Cruzer parts. Can I get what you have (part numbers) on your plane please?
The wheels are the standard (ordered from Matco) split-rim 6" wheels (gold/silver in color but I painted them black) and the tires are 6X600 retreads from Desser tire (I think retreads are a bit heavier than standard 6" tires). I also installed tubes in all three tires. The mains fit on the stock Zenith 5" axles but the nose gear required installing the larger Zenith fork.
@@scottmiller4711 Awesome! Thanks for helping out a fellow Builder (A Fellow CRUZER Builder no less!) :-)
Question: is the 912 a tad weak to haul around a CH750 ?
912UL = 80HP and a 912ULS = 100hp. The 912ULS does just fine proper pitched prop
How tall is the owner of the cruzer? I'm wondering about the 650, which he said he didn't fit in...
6’4”
What material is this chassis made of?
6061-T6 aircraft aluminium if I recall correctly
Did you ask the stol/rotax guy his airspeed for comparison? I saw the cruzer answer though
He did but that did not make it past editing...
In cruise (on that L O N G trip back from Michigan) he was averaging around 85mph. Thanks for asking! :-)
@@scottmiller4711 Yes Yes. As you can see... this went WAY LONGER that the typical episode (most are 15m-18m in length). This one ended up being 27 MINTUES long and that was after A LOT OF EDITING. :-) I wish we could make 60min long episodes all the time... but only a few have the attention span for that. Thanks for such a great day of Aviation Scott!
The average was 85mph. It will do that at around 5200rpm. average pattern/fun speed is 55-60mph for me.
@@Redbirdstol thanks! In my 750 stol, i repitched the warp drive to give my rotax 5300 rpms on climb out, and it makes my airspeed around 87-88. Let me know if you’re ever near Montgomery!
another STOL sample
50 rpm? Does he mean 500?
I believe he means literally just "bumping" the throttle a little bit and it's airborne again. With a "gearbox" engine the torque is there a little more instantly etc. Great question. Thanks for watching!
Its really more like 200 rpm, and yes, I mean 200. The STOL wing really does good at low power, and doesn't take much throttle at all. I'm usually flying before I get to the stops on t/o.
overdue for a wind cover for the mic......
Goddamnit i don't need another interest i can't afford
20:06 - Was that a yes or a no then? Why the 'political' answer?
I don’t get it.. I’ve flown two different 701s with the Rotax, and a 750 STOL with a O-200. Not to be so negative, but there are so many better flying planes out there.. these are some of the worst flying planes I’ve flown. They get off the ground fairly quick, but they don’t climb well, they don’t cruise well, they don’t glide well.. sure they have a low stall speed, but they just don’t have good control harmony. The Alarus CH2T is another poor flying plane.. Every time I see someone raving about these Zeniths, I wonder what they have flown to compare it to..
Which ones do you recommend? I'm new to these experimental aircrafts. Learning every day.
@@Estebanserrano96 well, it depends on your mission… I recommend you fly different ones before you commit to any of them. I love the RV series personally, they are so balanced, they go quick, they can play on the grass, but not ideal for the hardcore backcountry stuff. The Cub type are awesome to fly, sooooo much fun, just slow for traveling anywhere.
@@thomasaltruda Thanks!
But, like those are your feelings, man
@@z135210 yeah, they are my feelings, and your thoughts may be different, but have you flown a Zenith? How many other planes have you flown?
There really isn’t any excuse for having crappy audio please consider
The audio every time before you make a video. it’s very annoying
I agree 100% no disagreeing with you on that one. (Although I do have an excuse and it's a silly one). Thanks for suffering through it. It did get better as we went on. I hope you were able to get a few good take aways from it. Maybe start building something. See you in the NEXT one Richard. :-)
