Hey Marty how do you like that Tagima? I was looking for a P90 guitar and was about to get a Squier tele with p90s but maybe this one could be a better choice?
Gabriel Flores Hey Gabriel, I just noticed you comment. I have several electric guitars. 3 being nice high end USA made, and they are great guitars. But One of my favorite guitars is My J Mascis Fender squire. I’m not huge squire fan, but they have a couple that are awesome, an unique.
The J Mascis JM doesn’t have P90 but there are not a regular single coil. They are very similar to a P90, but it’s not as bright as a single coil Strat style pickup. They have a lot of punch an take distortion pedals an Fuzz incredibly well. An to me they have an awesome clean tone also. The neck feels great too. It’s like a vintage C, fits in the hand nicely. Just a little thicker than a modern C neck.
You can pickup a nice used one for $300-$350. But definitely play one an check it out. 🎸
I'd go for the Squier J. Mascis Jazzmaster. They're easily on par with like a Mexican or Japanese Jazzmaster, and the pickups are like a hotter Jazzmaster pickup that sounds like a P90.
