This is what Portugal and Serbia should have done. Instead of an acoustic version of their entries, it would have been interesting to hear a remix or an uptempo version of their songs.
Portugal's entry is a song about her personal experience. similarly would you dance/make a bop about a loss or grief? not everyone would
@@bloubear2557and why not? Some cultures choose to see loss and grief as an opportunity to celebrate..
But Portuguese culture isn't like that, besides, Portugal's song is about depression, anxiety and a possible evolution into a better person. It's not supposed to be a message to people to dance to, but rather to reflect on.

@@bloubear2557 I'm not forcing anything on anyone lol. It's just my opinion. I think that Portugal has enough creativity to go a little further. You can perfectly talk about sad or personal things with different musical genres. It doesn't always have to be a depressing ballad. France for example decided to try something different with its entry and it has merit in that. Portugal maintained the same record and fell a little short. And this is reflected in the odds... Portugal continues to fall...
I have played it over and over again, sends goosebumps down my spine, its so haunting this song and the singer is fantastic....the emotion is off the scale, and I love the French language , it is a the language of love.
