UPDATE! So first of all, thank you so much for watching. But second of all, I did have an entry to change, it's the Kapp'n Open Relationship entry. I contacted the person who created the iceberg and they told me: "With respect, I would like to correct you on your entry regarding Kapp'n and Leilani having an open relationship. I put the entry on the bottom of the iceberg because Leilani wears a red flower on the right of her hair which in some cultures means you are "available"". Which is something I didn't catch AT ALL so I thought it was worth a comment. And just for the sake the creator of the iceberg gave me a Seal of Approval saying: "Other than that the video was pitch perfect 👍🏻 really well done" thank you all so much for the positive feedback, I'm truly fulfilled making this content.

Yes, it makes sense when you put it that way. Its a bit of a loaded answer but, I have a speech impediment and actually use to talk with even less clarity at one point. But I have a lisp so it can make it a bit difficult to decipher what I say, the mic I have also HAD an incredibly thin pop filter but I have since replaced it with a different one and it makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to speak clearer in future videos. Appreciate you!
I’m surprised that you never mentioned the dead mom urban legend that was going around in the early 2000’s. The story went that a young boy had a GameCube and played Animal Crossing. He got bored of it and when his mom got sick, he gave the game to her so that she could play Animal Crossing while bedridden. The mom played the game everyday and after months, she passed away. Years after her passing, the boy found the old Animal Crossing game and booted it up. Upon playing, all of the villagers asked about his mom and why she hadn’t been around for so long. The boy then checked his mailbox and it turned out that everyday when she had been playing, she sent him a letter telling him how much she loved him and enclosed a little present.
I've actually heard of that urban legend too. The iceberg image wasn't actually created by me but I do think that it would have been an interesting thing to look up and figure out where it came from. Thanks for watching the video!
Wasn't that an inside joke? The player character has a "Mom" in all the games who keeps sending letters and gifts to the mailbox.
I mean, the joke would be that a casual player might not check their mailbox often, and thus not realize that the letters were written by Nintendo.

I'm fairly certain "original mayor" actually refers to the question of who the mayor of the New Leaf town was originally supposed to be before you got off the train, with the two most popular theories positing Rover or Isabelle.

I type out all of the names of each part of the iceberg so I must have just glanced quickly and typed out "The Raccoon Games". I remember that moment in ACGC now! if i remember correctly, the "whiskey" that Isabelle is drinking could be Barley Tea, a common drink in East Asia! There's no confirmed official source, but you can find tweets from Japanese players talking about it, they think its funny that the western fans thought she was drinking whiskey

Yeah it's most likely barley tea, but iirc there was some official but non-commercial material where she talks about enjoying whiskey in a casual manner. Which I mean, whiskey is super popular in Japan and discussion of alcohol even in child-friendly environment is not necessarily prohibited.

relating to the music in nook's cranny changing for the last ten minutes, this is a very common practice in japan. the shops will play "auld lang syne" (the new year's music) in the last 10-20 minutes before closing as a subtle hint for people to finish shopping because they will close soon.
As someone that has lived in the Japanese metropolitan regions, I can confirm this is true.

Honestly, about the statement of Chrissy and Francine being sisters, they've also got 2 other siblings.
Acording to the April Fools Guide for Animal Crossing New Leaf, Francine is the oldest of 4, while Chrissy is the youngest of 4, which means that they have 2 middle siblings we've never seen before.
Either that or their other siblings are two of the other bunnies, they just don't carry the family resemblance. :)

Surprised that there wasn't an entry about how Luna may have the ability to travel between the waking world and the dream world, considering that in her first appearance she can guide you to travel to dreams and be present in them even when she's fully awake or pull the memories of your town or island to turn it into a dream.

I think it makes sense, because (I believe) she is based on a baku, which, to my knowledge, in Japanese folklore, is capable of eating people’s dreams/nightmares. However I am not 100% certain on this, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

I think "the original mayor" could also refer to a character in New Leaf. In the game, you arrive at the town and are mistaken for the Town's new mayor. The person who was supposed to be the mayor is never seen
I always interpreted it as Rover was supposed to be the new mayor, but decided that he didn't want to give up his life of traveling and let the player have the job instead when he learns of our destination.
The new mayor was 100% supposed to be on that train and Rover was the only other person on the train, besides the monkey driving it (who I believe to be Champ, a villager from Wild World and City Folk who looks almost identical to Porter and has a few references to trains.)
39:40 just a theory.... it could be flick? just imagine it, he was a child during this time in the animal crossing series both of them share a fascination with bugs and their both males. it perfectly alligns and if this isnt the case (we'll never know) then I atleast headcanon it as such.

The Isabelle is an Alcoholic entry has more evidence. In one of the games (can’t remember which one), she describes the difference between whisky and whiskey (the former being Australian drink and the latter being the Scottish drink).

Actually, octopus villagers are tied for the most common, along with every other species. The reason being is that the game first picks a random species, and then picks a random villager from that species, so every villager is the most common.
they're most common because there are the least of them. the formula is 1/35 x 1/n, where n is the number of villagers in that species. every cat is the rarest because there are the most cats so that sum adds up to the smallest percentage!
Octopus and cows, has 4 villagers in moment
While it’s true it is random, you still have a smaller chance of getting an octopus over most other species because there are only four
Oh! Also! The phone cases likely refers to the fact each villager AND special characters has their own phone case! Some of them even use patterns not available in the game!
I Think that the "Pet Pikachu" entry also makes a reference to a diferent rumor that said that it is possible to take the delivery quest items and place them in your home and if you manage to place the "Pokemon Pikachu" one, a Walking Pet Pikachu would spawn and follow you around your home.
Oh, you've just awakened an old memory of seeing this rumor online when I was a kid. Thanks for the 2004 nostalgia!
i think "photo ops" refers to locations in the nh museum, usually indicated by a tiny camera sign somewhere in the environment, that if you stand on/near will automatically angle the camera in a unique way as to present the player with a good pose for a pic- like near the diving suit/sub in the fish section, of the blue dot that shows you the meteorite in fossiles

I believe Francine and Chrissy don't have blue or pink fur, because both have a white face with blonde tufts of hair, suggesting their ears are covered in a hood. Maybe Zipper isn't the only one wearing a costume?
I really enjoyed watching this! I remember as a young girl I would cry because Resetti was so aggressive when I played Wild World.

Hey! I just wanted to mention the origin of the balloons is explained at the end of the film! During the credits sequence, you can see in a blackboard that the balloons come from outer space, meaning it's possible they are being sent by the aliens that appear in the film!

12:59 actually this refers to the fact you weren't supposed to be the mayor in New Leaf, somebody else were supposed to arrive in the train you were in, to replace Tortimer. But somehow you end taking that place instead. Now people's been questioning who was supposed to be the original mayor in New Leaf instead of you.
I don’t know if this is iceberg material, but in Animal Crossing New Leaf if you forget to save and then tell Resetti it was because your 3DS’s batteries died, he would immediately calm down and remind you to charge your batteries ever so often.
is it stealing someone's identity if I bought a used New Leaf game that had an old save file on it and I continued their file for them?

I always watch iceberg type videos at night and while the creepy music is fine during the day, it gives me so much anxiety at night. Thank you so much for not putting any disturbing images or creepy music in this iceberg!
I fell asleep to this last night... And that's a good thing. I usually pick a really good video before I fall asleep and let it play in the background. It has to be something I'm interested in and I'll sit there and listen to it until I finally lose grasp of reality and fall asleep. I was fishing in New Leaf while watching this and right after he talked about the void a weird black line showed up on my screen. Spooky timing.
I feel like the “Mouse” fugitive is Jolyne Cujo...the buns, the human female face, the fact her whole plot was being wrongly put in jail and escaping...It doesn’t seem too far off that Animal Crossing would reference Jojo. Its 2000 release also coincides with the American and E+ releases.

All the characters(Ruby, Tom the cat, Bella, Ace who even with his name you barely recognize, Redd & Nook as examples) have names from AC & are the correct species as their game counterparts.

I honestly used to have a lisp. now i just have a stutter and hard time communicating (autism n shit,) but all of those together when i was younger made me hesitant to speak at all. It always came out as if i was speaking gibberish. Not only did you keep my interest for a long stretch of a road trip, but you kept my hope that people with lisps don’t have to be scared to speak because of it. keep making awesome videos!

My iceberg level 5 entry is Hector who was a blue chicken in the gamecube game only with a stripped shirt and glasses. He was my main villager buddy way back in the day, but nobody else cares about him at all.
Thankfully, I have Olivia, who is the only other villager I specifically remember having, and I spent a lot of time in her house absorbing the classy, relaxing atmosphere.

At 17:22 , A memory was sparked in me from playing animal crossing when i was younger. I remember getting a game from a villager and playing that game. Then, when i was done playing it, I exited the game and it disappeared from my home, with some text something along the lines of “What happened? It was like I was in a dream…” From what I know this was either from City Folk, Wild world, or new leaf. Anyone else remember this?

I'm pretty sure the "photo op" section was referring to areas in the museum where the camera changes it's angle to one you wouldn't be able to get normally, like when you stand in the blank spot in the animal lineup, or when you stand next to the asteroid
I'll be the outlier and say that I love scary stuff and was sad this video didn't dive deeper into how conceptually creepy AC actually is. It's a fascinating juxtaposition to how the game is presented. Still a good video that I enjoyed watching though.

As someone who has played almost every version of the American Animal Crossing games (except City folk) I just want to give a tiny correction on the bell tree bit. In the Original Game Cube AC you could bury 30k to grow a 90k tree, but in New Horizons, you are soft capped at 10k, because there is only a fraction of a percent chance that burying any more would get you that exact back. So if you bury 30k the bell tree will grow a 30k tree (three 10k bags)
Also it's been quite a while since I played the original AC, so I can't 100% remember if you needed the gold shovel to grow bell trees, but in New Horizons, you do *NOT* need a gold shovel.
