  • Hey guys, many of you have asked for a complete review of my 2010 Skoda Laura 1.9 diesel, so I took it very seriously and made this review. Its shot on my GoPro7 and the delay was due to unavailability of delivery in my area. Sorry for the delay!
    The car you see here is powered by a 1.9 PD (pumpe duse) TDI motor producing 105 bhp and 250 nm of peak torque. It also has a Stage1+ Code 6 tune and now produces 140 bhp and 320 nm of torque.
    If Maintenance cost is not an issue, this is one of the best practical, performance oriented luxury sedans, under INR 5 lakhs!
    Hope you guys like what you see, leave a Like and Subscribe if not already done.
    Please share your thoughts and feedback for improvement, as it's my first attempt at such review!
    Thanks in advance!!

    Bro the problem with buying used GERMAN cars will be the maintenance cost for the upcoming years. Even if you use the car for 5 years you will end up spending 5 lakhs and even more if there is engine problems. VW cars engines are built with latest tech so there is some problems that might occurs. Japanese cars don't use latest tech so they won't have more problems and easily fixable by any mechanic whereas VW engines need specialist they are so advanced.
    So if you use the car you bought for 5 lakhs for 5 years and its RC runs out . You will have to register it again. RC registration is like 10 years or 15 years so check that as well.

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 3 lety +2

      Yep bro. Agreed. But the upside is, 15L worth car, ur getting at 5L. So, if you don't plan on selling the car, in 5 years or so, you can save a lot, if you consider the interest percentage on 15L vs 5L alone.

    Hi. Love your video. I was looking to buy a used Laura and tuning it and so came across this video. Please answer my queries
    1. I was looking to buy the full option l&k variant. Do you know if that variant came with a diesel manual either for 2006 or 2009 models? I neither want to deal with dsg issues nor want to miss out on features.
    2. How's the reliability of the car? How was your experience?
    3. The major issue that I find and many say is the availability of parts. Is it easy to find spare parts for the 1.9l td diesel engine and the car in general since it was discontinued long back?
    4. How much was the cost to do the stage 1 map? Was there any part change? How much performance did you again in acceleration timings?

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 4 lety +6

      Hi, thank you for the support :-)
      To answer your questions....
      1. I'm not too sure, but will check and revert back.
      2. Reliability - Personally no major problems, we were stranded once due to clutch master cylinder failure. I've documented all maintenance issues here - czcams.com/video/j3_K5W9LWKQ/video.html
      3. Parts should not be an issue at all, it was the only diesel engine for the Octy mk1 and there will be a lot of aftermarket solutions - nothing to worry for at least 10 years.
      4. Remap and filter was 25k total. You can check out the acceleration differences below:
      Stock: czcams.com/video/ruhcUyOWhkY/video.html
      Tuned: czcams.com/video/EQ9JMi_cG0Y/video.html

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 4 lety

      No issues, happy to help :-)
      As far as I know, it's all cosmetic changes - lights, bumper, interior plastics colour etc. From 2010 mid onwards, the 2.0 tdi replaced the 1.9 tdi. Also, am not sure if the pre facelift got the 1.8 tsi...

    • @TheFirozIqbal
      @TheFirozIqbal Před 4 lety +1

      @@JRSCars I watched your video on the general maintenance and experience of this car. So what I understood is that parts like wheel bearing fail due to some improper torque on wrenching and there are many issues like that. Parts are also very expensive, I was shocked with speed sensor costs among others. But the biggest problem that I face is, well reliability. You see, I was planning on making this as my daily. So just one experience of the clutch failure was enough to put me of. It could be a one off but I just don't want to be stranded. I also watched the long term review of your honda city. So right now I am leaving this idea of buying Laura. I will instead go with some old japanese car.

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 4 lety +1

      @@TheFirozIqbal Yes, if it is your daily and you have a budget of around 6L, go with a newer city, vento, rapid or verna. Parts will be cheaper and you will also get very good brand value.
      Laura/Superb (used), will only suit as a second car (family/performance requirments), as it will require lots of maintenance in the long run.
      My suggestion to you, get a car, above 2015 for piece of mind.

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi, kindly confirm if its a 2.0 or 1.9
      To my knowledge, 1.9PD TDI was stopped in 2010 itself...
      If the car is in excellent condition, except the AC (will cost 30k+), then yes, go for it.
      But, its already run almost 2L km, to make it last another 3L km is difficult. So be prepared for atleast a re-build, coz it all depends on maintenance in the first few years.
      Look at it like this.
      If a child is spoiled rotten when young, it's difficult to reform him later. But, if a child is brought up well from early age, he'll automatically grow up well, with proper advice (in a cars case, proper maintenance)

      @@JRSCars Its DSG Automatic Top Model.

      Nice. Between 6-7 lakhs, if the car is in very good condition.
      But beware of pricey electronics, which can cause big and expensive repairs.
      Also, check the DSG properly, it'll be very very expensive to fix, if it fails.
