- Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus isn't my favorite entry in the series, but there's been something so nostalgic and rewarding about revisiting it in 2024. Thanks to the new emulation available on PS4 and PS5, Sly's back and given how much the series has done in attracting an audience to my channel, I couldn't help but to make a video. In this short look, I share some general thoughts on the game, the new features found here, while giving thanks to you all for spending so much time watching my Sly videos. Thank you!

I've watched and rewatched your Sly vids because it was like seeing old friends from my childhood. When they released Sly, I snapped it up without hesitation. So now I hope the rest will come. Thank you for making this and those long vids on Sly and the gang. They truly made my day.

Just so you know, you actually can swap the inverted x-axis controls in the emulator's settings menu. I just remapped the stick in reverse 😆

I hope the extremely near perfect reviews on the PS store, and the fantastic emulator is proof we’ll be able to get the other Sly games on modern systems, alongside other beloved PS2 classics. Also that trophy list is peak

You can fix the camera in the emulation settings. I couldn’t do that inverted camera
I don't own a ps5 but I'm glad to see sly still being talked about in 2024. I just finished bingeing your sly series and have been playing the trilogy on a pc ps2 emulator rather than the ps3 remake and completing sly 1 for the first time has really made me appreciate the gameplay and the characters more in the 2nd & 3rd game. I beat sly 3 as a kid and only ever played the first world of sly 2 so I'm super excited to beat sly 2 for the first time
YES! I'm so jealous that you get to experience Sly 2 for the first time. What a game. I'm sure my videos may have spoiled the story, but hopefully you still find a lot of enjoyment from it. It's my favorite game of all time!
@@nopnapnarp8047 I thankfully only watched up until where I had played so I was still surprised by things like Sly and Murray being captured. So far I love the story, writing & voice acting more than the 3rd game but the gameplay, villains, and soundtrack in Sly 3 are so nostalgic it'll always be my top Sly game. Looking forward to an Elden ring vid in the future
They really need to port the others games to modern consoles and not just through streaming

@@chunkykong01 I tried to keep it as honest as I could! Sly 2 is my favorite video game of all time and I still tried to keep it real. But man that game is so good. Which is your favorite?
@@nopnapnarp8047 if I'm going to keep it 100% with you I've never played any of the sly cooper games, theve just had my attention for a rlly long time. But if I had to choose based off of what I've seen and know about the franchise I'd say sly 2 because of the simple fact that the entire team gets to work together and you rlly get a sence of that brotherly bond between sly Bently and Murray (and Murray has always just been my favorite character, I've just related to his position in so many friend groups)
I will say the ps4 version has some issues. It doesn't have the rewind feature but it's big issue is how the game is running at a faster speed. Like 1.5x speed or something. It made Mz Ruby's fight so difficult and even the giant snake difficult. I just couldn't get away from it. But I did love discovering the trophy exploit to skip the no barrel trophy in A Cunning Disguise and the no hook one, where you can just enter the level and leave
It does have rewind, you just have to turn it on (it's off by default). However they have it off because it makes the PS4 crash and performance worse, because frankly PS4 is an old console and it's always gonna be fucked up.
The speed thing is only 5-10% faster, not 50%, but it is still an issue that they hopefully fix soon.
@@tenbeat I didn't know about the rewind being off by default. And that speed difference felt so much fast. It took 20 of my lives for the boss fight haha
@@DemonKingCozar Yeah the speed thing is annoying, it's because the PS4 clockspeed doesn't fit properly with the PS2's. The PS5 version runs perfectly, but the developer of the emulator definitely needs to fix it.
@@tenbeat Both versions also had a few crashes but I can live with that. I'm glad I can finally play Sly Cooper on modern consoles, I can't stream

Some yt video name should you buy sly cooper. Bruh is that a question? If I see sly cooper, I buy the game no question ask, I have all the versions except the ps vita (I saw sly 4 have two file that needed to be downloaded on ps3, one the actual game and one the vita. I have no clue how the vita version work since I brought on ps store rather than the disk.)
You know I had the same reaction just delayed. The emulation came out and I was like oh cool and then a week or two later I was like WAIT I NEED TO BUY THAT
