I actually ended up getting the AirPods 3 over the Pro because they don't have the rubber tip. I find them very uncomfortable and they never stay in my ears properly, so I am glad they made a better option for folks like me who don't like the rubber tips. These fit me more comfortably than the AirPods 2, too.

I personally dont like the fully sealed option with the pros. Although its better for sound quality its not great for all day wearing of the headphones. The more open design allows you to hear the world around you while still hearing whats being streamed to them.

    @andreasstegmann5675 Před 2 lety +25

I actually really like that the AirPods 3 don’t block my ear canal like the Pros do. Their transparency feature is good, but an open ear canal is just more convenient for cycling or other use cases where you need to hear the world around you.

Still like the original design the best. I have a set of 2's, 3's and Pros. I find the sound improvement between the 2's and 3's too insignificant to matter and that the smallest case always works best. I also find the 2's get better range than my 3's. Maybe get the 3's if you're buying net new, but I certainly wouldn't "upgrade" from the 2's.

I recently purchased the AirPods 3 to replace my AirPods Pro that recently broke, my Apple care has run out on them as well. I find the 3’s to be much more comfortable in my ear and the sound to be very similar if not the same to the quality of the Pro’s.

The Beats Fit Pro are fantastic for running; I picked up a pair a few weeks ago and, with the exception of wireless charging, they have all the headphone tech from Pros (spatial audio, noise cancelling, Siri, great battery life) but with physical buttons and a wing to keep them in your ears. My earlier workout headphones were Bose sound sports (no noise cancelling and wired between each other)-I haven’t even bothered charging those since I picked these up. AirPods Pro sound good, but even the small ear tips have a weird oval shape that hurt my ears if I left them in for any length of time.

  • @samuelodan2376
    @samuelodan2376 Před 2 lety +2

Mind you, not having rubber tips is a plus, in fact, not having ANC and Transparency mode are a plus in their own way too. I just sold my AirPods Pro to get the 3’s mainly because of the added battery life, the fit (oh, the fit on the Pros really irked me daily), and more open style so I can hear more around me without having to use that glitchy transparency mode.
And if someone else loves those features, they can just go for the Pros since they’re very close in price now on Amazon.

I basically need noise cancelling so I got the Airpods Pro this Christmas just gone. I had avoided in ears for a good 15-16 years but these have been a god send for using the treadmill or going on walks.
The tips give me just the right fit, never had them fall out.

  • @myharryface

Gary, for running I recommend the Powerbeats Pro, they are the same hardware as AirPod Pros minus the isolation feature but the are designed for sweat and the wrap around your ears. I love my AirPod Pros but they slowly work their way out of my ears regularly where the Beats cannot.

Using the AirPods Pro and I have to say… I’m impressed with their build quality. I lost my right earphone on December 28th… 15 days ago. It fell out of my jacket and into some snow. We then had more snow that night and I could not find it. I could see it on the “Find My” app and could see roughly where it was but an additional 20 cm of snow fell and then we had -14 freezing temperatures and then some more snow… it was like… good luck trying to find this little white earphone in the snow. It’s been raining for the last two days and finally today… the snow melted and I found my right earphone. I couldn’t believe it was intact and that It worked! I just watched and listened to this video using them. I thought for sure I would need to be replacing one of them. As I mentioned earlier… impressed with the air pods pro build quality. Both the pros and the 3s have similar build qualities.

I couldn’t even sit at my desk without the AirPods Pro falling out fairly easily. I guess my ear shape doesn’t fit for those. I even tried using all of the sizes for fitment. None of them worked well, and I’ve only used in ear type monitors for audio. I tried out a pair of AirPods 3 and I was hooked. We can all wish for the same features as the pro, but without the silicon tip, we can’t possible expect that. The AirPods 3 work for me very well, and the cross connectivity between all of my apple devices (4 now), is pretty flawless compared to other Bluetooth headphones I’ve used in the past.

The fit, and the sound are very important to me. Apple has stated that they made the EarPod, and AirPod to fit majority normal peoples ears. Thing is I guess that I am "Abby Normal" (hope you caught the reference). They only way that either of these stay in my ears if I am not moving at all, or is with third party ear hooks.
Just wish there was a why on the AirPod's for them to fit into the case with ear hooks still installed. They would if Apple would make an optional ear hook accessory in different sizes.

I don't have any of the earlier AirPods, but I bought the AirPods 3 on the week of release. I don't need ANC and battery-life *is* important to me too, so I went with these instead of the AirPods Pro. And they work great on many levels, but they don't fit my ears as well as I'd like. I can get them in okay, and they sound great, but even if I'm just sitting at my desk they are likely to fall out after 20 minutes. I have to keep pushing them back in. This is so frustrating, because they work great for me in so many ways.

Reaction to 4:32 and following: many people find the stoppers a turn-off. Maybe Apple could have an ear-plug option for folks who prefer the plugs, but I find free resting pods a plus and those little silicon plugs a minus most of the time. I'm sure you'll love the AirPods Pro 2's when they come out. NOTE: were the 3's to have a seal, Apple might feel constrained to implement an active "pass through" mode; sealed ear plugs can be a safety and social liability, even without ANC.

I find the pros uncomfortable, and the MagSafe and wireless charging aren’t hugely significant sacrifices to me if you’re traveling with any USBC device (since the battery life is great and you’re already going about with the charger). The noise cancelling and transparency are just as good, and the beats have much closer to the industry standard circle headphone tips that fit my ears way better. Beyond that, the wings do well at keeping them in my ears. I’m sure the BFPs will be down to 175 or 150 soon, as well, since Apple seems more inclined to discount Beats more dramatically than AirPods

the only reason why apple didn't add the rubber tip was because some people don't like it and would much prefer no noice cancellation the with it because how some people don't like it.

There should be someone that comes up with a full on silicone jacket for this earbuds.
Imagine if you only need to buy a silicone jacket with the rubber tip, then you dont need to buy the Pros.

The problem with the AirPods Pro and the silicon bud is that it caused real problems for a lot of users. There were thousands of cases of severe allergic reactions and infections. I had to take mine back after I got a nasty infection from them. It was terrible. Never had a problem with e regular AirPods, which I love. But the Pros were really bad. There have been lots of online comments about this issue.

I literally hated the airpods when they came out. I was like what a silly bunch of junk! Apple was smart enough to give me a free pair of 2nd gen airpods when I bought an iPad Pro and since then I loved them! I really loved how comfy the original wired earpods fit in my ears so this was exceptionally convenient!
Also, I used to love the ear plugs type of headphones like the Airpods pro but now as I grow older I find it not comfortable at all so I prefer the normal airpods - Not sure if 3rd gen will fit in my ears though? thanks

Why even point out as any kind of a negative that they don’t have ear tips. That would make them AirPods Pro??
That’s the WHOLE point of these AirPods, I’d ambient noise.

The issue I have not seen being talked about with AirPods Pro is how awful their construction has been and the issues of using them for fitness activities. Using them for fitness results in a cracking sound when in air cancelling or transparency mode that is so severe it renders the feature unusable. Apple had a two year recall because of this issue and it still occurs with the newly developed air pods pro.
I have had to exchange nine individual Air pods pros and need to do so again for one another but it is now out of warranty.
Has no one else had this problem?

My left headphone of AirPods Pro broke - got this cracking issue, well known to Apple to the point that there is the whole repair program. So after a while mine have been replaced and never had any issues since then and I really hope it will stay this way ;)

I really don;t like tips since they make my ears hurt. But i can handle it for about an hour. It would be nice if Airpods pro can be interchangeably be used between a "Pro" and "regular" by having the choice to use it without tips and if you want noise cancelation, you can just pop the tips back in.

I still have my pair of wired headphones that *came* free 😉😱with my iphone 6s, so they're at least 5 years old and work perfectly with my Samsung.
There's no way I'd ever buy a pair of Air Pods. I have my headphones in and out of my ears and pocket, all day long.
The wired phones are just so much more practical.
I'd lose one, or both Air Pods, within a matter of hours.
And the price, well it's Apple kerr-CHING! £$£$

    So here's the thing...
AirPods 1 and AirPods 2 have the same fit and they fall out of my ears no matter what I try to do with them. They sound good but not for me ears so PASS.
AirPods Pro sounds really good. In fact it might be the sounding AirPods (earbuds) however they hurt my ears after approximately 15 minutes of wearing them due to the silicon tips. I guess I'm just not a fan of the silicon tips and how they fit so PASS.
AirPods 3 are the perfect pair for me... why? it's because Apple nailed the fit this time. No hurting, no falling out of my ears, or in other words they fit right with my ears. The sound quality of these are also amazing. Although Pro might be slightly better. All in all the 3 are the perfect pair for me. Heck if I lose my pair I would definitely grab another pair as they are the one for me especially if you are in the ecosystem. They connect seamlessly.

I don’t like the in-ear aspect of the pro. In-ear headphones are uncomfortable for me and I find the way it seals as distracting. If I want in-ear, I’d buy a pro. I want buds, so I buy the AirPods.
