You may take a small hand file and shave that top notch on the magazine up just a touch or pull the mag catch out the gun and file the top of it down just a touch and that may help if putting a glock mag in it don't work
great optics
9/16x24 is a standard 40 cal thread pattern.
A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work 🙃
As a veteran ASR owner I can tell you what's going on with the magazine issue. My older ASR doesn't have that issue, but my wife's newer one does. I discovered the issue with ETS mags. If you use a small flat file and remove about 1/32 of material from the back right of the mag it should go home. The later models have a tang that contacts some after market mags. You can see this by removing the lower and inserting the mag.
I prefer G29 mags for hunting as they allow for more freedom of movement. It seems like the OEM Glock mags don't have this issue.
I think once you get over this hump, you'll be on your way.
I really need to do a video about this.
I was wondering if he could switch to a factory Glock magazine from the 10mm
I'm just here for the rarely seen-in-the-wild Hi Point with a suppressor.
👀👀👀
@@WHOTEEWHO :)
Ain't a damn thing wrong with Hi Point. Great price, easy to work on and eat whatever you feed them.
2 years ago I was going to buy one of those until I started reading reviews about feeding and ejecting issues.
That and the lack of response by the manufacturer based on reviews.
I decided to just save money and went with a CMMG MK300.
That runs like a deer , is just expensive.
Good luck contacting the company if you have issues.
Don't forget to Chrono these long barrels. I am really curious to see any gains over the 5 inch barrels.
Stay tuned
Don't forget... Don't shoot the Chrono! 🤣
You can use a ballistic simulator like (GRT) Gordons Reloading Tool or quickLOAD to mess with powder burn rates and barrel lengths. They're usually pretty spot on if you input the right data. Like within 1% on pressures and velocity. Everyone's chamber or brass may be different though, so adjust for YOUR data and you can nail it. Just to give you an idea, I ran a 10mm with a 180 gr Gold Dot hollow point with a load of hodgdon titegroup powder. Adjusted the fill to close to a max load and it gave me 1,051 fps, 442 ft lbs, at 32,835 psi pressure in a 5 inch barrel (3,041 psi at the muzzle). Now I adjusted to a 16 inch barrel, no other changes, gives me 1,222 fps, 596 ft lbs, 32,809 psi pressure (698 psi muzzle pressure.. suppressor friendly :) Now looking at the chart developed with that load, the titegroup powder hit full burn at about 2 inches down the barrel. Typical pistol powder.
Now let's play with the burn rate and optimize a load for that 16 inch barrel... Switching to Hodgdon HS-6 powder and adjusting to near max load gives 1,547 fps, 956 ft lbs. Better, but still burning all the powder in 6 inches...
I tried a couple other slower burning powders and got some velocities up around 1,600 fps. But they were only getting like 70-80% burn in that barrel length, so leaving some performance on the table, and getting close to a compressed load in that little case. There's hundreds of powders you can mess with until you find one that checks all the boxes though. It's a big help to be able to narrow down possible load combinations like this before ordering a bunch of different stuff that may or may not work for your set up.
Ballistics by the inch is a great source of data.
@@chrisrosenthal1210trouble with tailoring to a specific powder these days may leave ya with nothin.
My eyes were track'n all over's this rig, I especially like the green finish
I got a really cool burnt orange.
If I could get a decent high capacity 20rd+ that wouldn't break the bank I might consider one in 10mm or .45acp.
A Glock mag in either with one of those extendo +4 or + 5 competition base plates would probably work but not cheap either.🥺
@@Manco65 yeah, it pisses me glock doesn't at least make a 22 rounder like the 40sw.
I have one in 45 acp and I like it a lot. There are reliable high capacity Glock magazines available.
Available as a shorter version considered a pistol.
She will be a great prop or wall hanger. Make for interesting conversations.
Sometimes the range days just don't go as planned.
😊 no❤
Really though, last time I forgot all my Allen wrenches. I was other than satisfied.
@@markbroad119that or torx 😑or not having the needed size in either 🙄
Guys, how many dates have you been on, that didn't go as planned, too? 😟
I hate to think...@@chrissewell1608
Have two 9mm versions same colour and all. One for the wife and one for me. Had the same problem and of coarse I didn't read the instructions either. Still haven't, but found out bolt must be open when inserting mag and it needs a good slap after you put it in. It also worked well with OEM glock mags.
Since I got these we have put close to 1000 rounds through both with no problems. Trigger was atrocious but did some trigger work and got them working smooth with a clean break. So far have nothing bad to say about the ASR rifle. Good luck with it.
Not 2 different colors?
Why would you have to do that? These companies should just go back to the drawing board if you have to do some psa for the gun to work. Same with shotguns needing high brass. No your product doesn’t work and isn’t worth buying in my opinion
That mag would have been in the bush by now if it was me 🤣
I’m guessing that WASNT a really fun video 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad you figured it out even though you had a bit of a rough patch. It is nice that you show everyone when you have a tough time though instead of always being super slick and polished like some other channels. Man, that really is a purty lookin firearm! I'm not sure what it is about it but I would buy one and struggle until I figured out its quirks too.
I'm just always being myself. Appreciate you watching
Take a deep breath and count to ten, there is always tomorrow mate, love the content, keep up the great work, cheers Yogi 🤙✌️🇦🇺
I’m glad u put in ur mistakes, makes it more relatable.
I like that one, its made here, in Oregon, its been on hickock 45, it is more like a survival rifle, l hike, hate to run into something feral in the deep woods.😳
Like feral people! 🚷
If it didn't shoot so good... I'd be frustrated too. Thanks for taking us to the range.
I know right, the mag is annoying but damn it's accurate
Don't get down on yourself. Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the restraints! Some days it just doesn't pay to crawl through the bars! Some days it.....well.... you get it. 🤜🤛
I'm glam that I am not the only one that forgets to hit the record button. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Glad you got it figured out dude l really like that boolot slinger plan to get one till I seen you having trouble with the mags Glad it all worked out that thing boolot slinger slings um hard with awallup
😂😂 I was gonna say open the bolt But you did at the end 👍👍
I like the looks of this new piece.
Loved the look of that when you first showed it.
I have a Glock 20 in 10mm. Love the cartridge. You may of had better luck with the High Point carbine
yes it says right on there web site, fits Glock magazines. Maybe your buddies at Tollivers will give you one that mag had to be falling out on them as well. Those mags have the tendency to bulge when loaded Glock factory mags are still. I bought one of those in 9mm to try and if you bumped it rounds came out. It did come apart nice when shot with 5.56 Black tips
Generally every single aftermarket Glock mags suck except Magpul, most of the time. But they only do 9mm.😑
have the same rifle in .357 Sig love it
A bummer that the magazine is not sitting in right, some days things go the wrong way but you handled it well. 10mm is a powerful round. Thank you for the video.
Good video and thank you much 😮
Love the videos and the channel 🙏🇺🇲💪
Appreciate you watching!
Definitely a character building experience. ❤
That thing looks funky as hell but cool at the same time
I have this exact gun, so does my wife’s cousin, mines fine, but he had problems with his sent it back and they fixed it runs great now.
I like it brother! Super cool rifle! You'll catch one for sure!!!
Who Tee, when you go to the range as often as you do you're bound to have " one of those days " .Be thankful you don't have more of them !!! Lol
Hey, I stopped to see your boys at Tolivers Saturday! I told them you have made them world famous! 🤠
Best shop in the country
Had my National quals Friday, last 3 years I either had a cast, brace on my arms, or a patch over one of my eyes! shot perfect, 60/60 with both pistol and revolver, THIS YEAR, great health, no patches cast or braces, I dropped 3 out of the A zone with pistol, and 3 with revolver. Passed ok, but it was frustrating, lol, Momma said you'll have those days! keep on keeping on! sure enjoy your videos!
Man, I feel like I know you!..I worked with someone from Tennessee that trained me in MS Access a long time ago. Love your stuff!!
Appreciate you watching!
Sorry you had trouble I really like the look of that firearm I love 10 mm, but what I equally like about you is that you strike out into the caliber less used, it's a breath of fresh air
Never had good luck with that brand of mag in my glock 20 or 29. Love the ASR.
Hey some days a diamond some days stone. Keep up the good work.
I bought one about 3 years ago. I have not had any issues with. Put a holosun red dot on it. Very happy with it.
I almost bought one of those but was buying something else at the time. They seem like a quality build. Very robust. Quick and easy to remove the barrel.
AERO survival rifle looks awesome and I appreciate that it breaks down to so small. I'd assume they made some compromises between ballistics and being able to easily take it apart.
Man, same hole groups, that is awesome! Good looking bing bang too! It's just too bad about that magazine.
My 9mm PCC, likes the bolt open, when inserting the magazines, too. Its just a super tight fit! But, the mags drop just fine.
Maybe, try reducing the bullet count by 2 or 3, and it may allow the spring to compress a bit better, when loaded?
I had a cmmg banshee that would not seat ets mags unless the bolt was open. I suspect this issue is somewhat more common than I thought.
Hi Jeff! Great Evening To You
Who’s Jeff?
Those magazines have very strong springs. Lock the bolt back to insert the mag, or load -1.
He was only putting 3 or 4 in it at 1st
I’ve heard they have individual characteristics of what weight ammo they favor and the break in periods vary, I have a very old keltec sub 2000, it would have to be 2004 or older, I liked it because it used glock 9mm mags, it had a break in cycle, fortunately it fell on 115gr, I have a older ruger model 44 that has been a awesome pcr, unfortunately it’s not a breakdown
You may want to check the feeding cone on your barrel. A shallow feeding cone will usually feed ball ammunition without any problem, but may not work with flat nose or hollow point ammunition.
You may have to either get a new barrel with an improved feeding cone or see if a gunsmith can cut a feed ramp in the existing barrel.
I had the same issue with my Aero Precision EPC. I had the gen 1 barrel, but once I told the company about the issues I was having with flat nose bullets, they sent me a gen 2 barrel with the enhanced feeding cone.
Problem Solved.
Hope this helps.
Charles Henley
I have a CZ rifle that all the aftermarket magazines NEVER lock in as standard. I always have to get the Stanley trimmer and shave the front corners of every magazine so they lock in, and present the round at the correct angle for feeding. It’s a bugger, but in reality it only takes a few seconds to fix.
I believe those rifles are assembled with a modular magazine well. I wonder if yours has the wrong magazine well or maybe wrong magazine catch installed.
You get your clip figured out who tee who! That will be a nice rifle! Color sets it off nice! 👍
You should see the burnt orange.
At least you didn’t get kicked out of shooting range like me yesterday 🤣 (i showed up too early they don’t open on Sundays until 10:30😟)
Great video!!
🙏🙏🙏
read the durn manual! I feel your pain brother. Thanks for the content. Fricken wasted boolots. Dang it!
There are adjustable pins if you detach the lower receiver. These can be used to set clearances if things are tight .
Awesome nice modern sporting rifle when you get the mag issue worked out, 10 mm hollow points smacking the steel hard at 50 yds. an excellent woods pistol caliber deer catching rifle.
I was looking at the tnw 10mm and seen alot of complaints about feed issues. Most the comments said it like cheap ammo better and alot said they used grease over oil to lube the bcg. I ended up getting a Bear creek arsenal AR 10mm instead. I love that gun it's alot of fun and runs great it was also alot cheaper then the tnw.
Bought a similar model in 9mm. I read a lot of reviews, but purchased it anyways, as I wanted something not in an AR pattern.
I had issues with ejection, tried all the tricks. Just wouldn’t run. Called their CS line, sent it in.
The bolt was cut to shallow, they replaced it, 100% now. I run it suppressed and unsuppressed. I’ve had better luck with PMags and ETS mags. I’d contact TNW, they were good to me.
Also, I use a piston in that thread pitch for my 40S&W in my SilencerCo Octane 45. You might get a piston for you can, and a fixed barrel spacer.
i have the same issue with mine but i think its chambered in 40. Thanks for the advice
I really like your Green Space Gun! 💫🧑🚀🚀
Have faith on this piece. ,,,Glock style mags and the can, perfect for white tail. ty WTW
It be that way sometimes
Great. Video even though you had issues with it.
The 10mm high point carbine is with a few modifications is way more decent deer/hog/black bear than it has any right to be at the price point, I modified a couple of my magazines by installing a wooden block to them to 2 rounds and one in the chamber (while in my state they legally don’t need to be limited you can simply only have 3 rounds loaded this does remove any question when the warden is around and I spray painted my modified mags so there is never a question when something goes bump in the night) topped it with low magnification scope , I swapped to a high tower bullpup stock and am waiting on a can
I bought the 9mm version and bought the 45acp kit. No problem with glock mags for 9mm or 45acp S&W. It took 6 months to get the 45 conversion kit from the factory but gun and both mag types run fine.
Recently purchased a jaugernaut in .45 acp and I have to pop the mag to get it to stick also had an issue with installing rail sights the railing wasn't square to the barrel and boy did that through the shot off
File the notches on the mag a 1/16” up towards the top
I must say, that might work
It's accurate, for sure, Adam. Show more on this rifle. 👍
You have had a frustrating day at the range for the rest of viewers who came to watch.
Waiting now for your updates on your rifle and magazine issues. Threads are something everyone else needed to hear about also.
One hole group there wasn't it?
Check to see if you can give your mag release one rotation from the backside and it might resolve the mag issue.
“If possible” 😁😎
I use factory mags in mine. Runs 100s of rounds no problem. Great ASR for the bush
Ive seen it all.. hunting whitetails with a pcc.. beautiful world we live in. Prob carry that joker forevr, might even forget its in your hand. Sorta like cant find the glasses sitting on top of your head kinda deal😂
A old gunsmith trick is to put lip stick above the mag catch slot to see how far down the catch pin is going. you may have to file out the top of the mag slot.
I got a Mech Tech upper for my Glock 10mm. It’s flawless.
As I've gotten older.... I'm having more of those frustrating days a lot more regular! 😂 Just shake your head and rack it up as just one of those days! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Hickock 45 7 years ago same gun same problem.good luck
Accuracy is so good! From the barrel back the rest of the gun needs some refinement.
I have that same pow pow .It works awesome with glock mags .There is a screw on the top rib near where the barrel connects it locks the barrel Mine will shoot 40 sw too .I like them awesome backpack carbine .You have to get use to it not your usual carbine .I think they are well made I want to put the pistol carbine forend to be able to hold it easier .I had to slap in that mag you were trying. YOU will like that carbine the more you use it .I am going to deer hunt with mine top.
🦌🦌🦌
That sucks about the mag, just need some fine adjusting. I like the look of this bing bang ❗️
Test the hunting rounds in some gel brother before you head to the woods with them there has to be something stuck where the mag clicks in place have Paul check it out without voiding the warranty on it but if it don’t catch it’s not right somewhere
I had to loosen the barrel put in the mag then tighten the barrel back down. The mags seat good now.
Also the buffer tube springs are too tight. Screw the buffer tube out quite a ways.
After doing those 2 things I've had zero issues.
Looks like you got a nice tack driver. Don't get discouraged.
See if the mfr will send you a replacement mag before you start whittlin on it
My 45 likes the SDS mags better and I had to dial in the buffer tube a little and it functions pretty close to 95%, it is what it is.
CZcams acting up i left a comment on a different video an it put it on your video 😂...you still loved it even though it made no sense to you 😂..wtw the man haha..that 10mm is cool if you can get the mag to seat 100% of the time
I knew what you meant 😝
Extar ep9 is a phenomenal gun. Highly recommend
I have one
CMMG is phenomenal, Extar is a great value.
I have one exactly like that and have had no problem...other than when I tried to use non-Glock mags...
I had a 9mm ar that had the same magazine issue. Turned out that the lower was cut incorrectly. The manufacturer replaced the lower and it solved the problem. It turned out that the manufacturer had a Lot of lowers that were cut wrong and had a small recall.
If your little rifle is anything like an AR the mag catch is adjustable. Might be worth doing a bit of tinkering and research. Your great brother keep ‘em coming blessed day
Others prob said the same thing but fitment on those SGM mags can be hit and miss. Try Oem Glock mags or even Pmags I bet you will have a better time!
That's what you call a semi-bolt action 😅 been there, done that.
My edc is 10mm. I've wanted one of those rifles in 10mm for a while. Now I'm reluctant to because of the magazine issue.
Core lokt bullets work well with 450BM also
How you have better luck with it soon who tee who
Can you adjust the magazine catch & button? (Like on an AR-15) Maybe its just a tad short, when it got installed?
Sometimes the mag feed lips hit inside near the bolt area. That keeps the mag from inserting all the way....
Should try one of them hi point carbine that way Bowinkle won't get lucky
Must have got those California mags
Maybe get a OEM Glock magazine, and check the mag catch/release in the gun. Perhaps it can be adjusted like in an AR.
sure looks cool , and light weight
Try a Just Right Carbine in 10mm. They are a go getter
@WHOTEE: Try slapping that magazine in. I just have a question, was that Magazine made for the tool, or was it added to the tool?
I must satate, that rfle is a good looking, and looking like a good piece of equipmemt. Either way, if you slap it in, and it's still not working out too well, there's reasons for that, and it's negative
I have the same model and caliber. I also have a similar/same problem. My magazines will stay in place if you keep the bolt locked back and really give it a slow, steady, hard push. If this weren't a "survival rifle" I'd have a problem with that.
