East Hills isn't as bad as noted, neither is Wilkinsburg. You left out McKees Rocks which is considered way worse, but many crimes aren't reported.
I grew up in what now is known as East Hills, about a block from the Wilkinsburg border. All kids went through the Wilkinsburg schools and everyone patronized the plethora of businesses and entertainment venues in the Wilkinsburg business district. The high school closed years ago. What was a vibrant business district now is depressing.
@@beerybillWilkinsburg is on the upswing for the last few years. New businesses have come in and more and more abandoned buildings are being torn down annually. I grew up in McKees Rocks which has really gone downhill and I'm happy living in the Wilkinsburg area for the last 18 years.
McKees Rocks isn't in the city of Pittsburgh!
Wilkinsburg and McKeesport is not a part of Pittsburgh get it right and you got it wrong
She said GREATER PGH
Greenfield in the 1970's working class neighbor. Mob kept it safe it the early 80's.
I mean this is a nice stereotypical list but have you ever been to the hill district. Its being rapidly gentrified.
And the crime is super localized. Outside of the Bedford Dwellings it's pretty safe. The Upper Hill is especially safe.
Most of the crimes were on Bedford av in Elmore Square. Back in the day
Was this Pittsburgh or Allegheny County? Homewood and Lincoln Larimer instead of McKeesport and Wilkinsburg.
I'm thinking of retiring to Pittsburgh. Your videos are great but it would be helpful if you included a map of the areas you are discussing. Still very helpful. I'm leaning heavily toward a house in the Burgh landslides and flooding are concerns.
Thanks for the feedback! I do include maps in many of my videos, but you're right, I did not do it in this one. I will keep that in mind for future reference. :-) Landslides and flooding can definitely happen in some areas, but there are many areas where that is not a huge concern. Feel free to reach out privately if you want to discuss further!
Dont retire here...its a cesspool. .getting worse. Fent is spreading out to the suburbs and as far out as latrobe etc.
The worst crime to ever happen in the Hill district was when the city of Pittsburgh destroyed the Lower Hill in 1957, forcing 8,000 of working class blacks and immigrants to relocate without compensating them
Homewoood and Wilikihsburg are the worst but unfortunately full of poor people
What about Homewood?
What about the safest neighborhoods in Pittsburgh?
Monroeville where I’m originally born
North shore is the projects….its ALWAYS been that way
I can think of a half dozen Pittsburgh neighborhoods that are worse than any of the ones that she spoke about.
Also don’t go outside from 3 am to 7 am - no police on duty, 911 shuts down.
no need to watch this video, I can answer in 3 words: All Of It
No it’s not. My parents neighborhood in Pittsburgh has basically never even had a crime. The worst thing that has happened in 25 years is some kids threw a party when their parents went on vacation and all kinds of stuff happened that like 7 cops responded and 15 people went to jail. Other than that literally no other crime has happened in decades. There has never been a shooting ever.
Good video, but one minor knock to your video is that your way of rating based on stats varying from neighborhood to neighborhood
just look for the "dark" areas
Wonder why?? Why is it always them??
Yup....it's the group that is subjected to white racism.
You mean poor people?
@@mrman3523No he means black people. Im from Pittsburgh. Every one of these neighborhoods are all over 90% black. Sorry that people consider the truth to be racist.
Redlining Ang racism by racist white people
I lived in Northview heights in the 60s
All black neighborhoods!…
And poor ones, which actually matters.
Definitely all Black neighborhoods. She never mentioned the high crime white neighborhoods with extremely high rates of overdose deaths. Horrible.
@@brianzembruski5485exactly. Someone with a brain.
@OnFireBoy269 well please name them
Stats don’t lie. Cope all you want
Is Duquesne a bad area?
Yes
No it is not
What happened to Queen Street?
I thought the East side of Pittsburgh were nice, safe, and expensive neighborhoods?
It got the richest n most dangerous . Homewood could arguably one of the most dangerous hoods in America ppl just don’t come through here to know but ders Larmier Garfield Lincoln Laketon penn hills bunch of hoods
This person don't know what she's talking about she must never been to Pittsburgh avenue on my life and you got it wrong
Um, Brah I was born in Lawrenceville in 1962, and today live on the North Side. This list IS correct, If incomplete. I'd add the Rocks, Braddock ETC to the list.
@@jamesslick4790not even close
Racist video and racial gerrymandering in my opinion but with all due respect to the content creator and I trust she has no bad intentions
also east hills is jus tha projects all that shit on frankstown and off of it its still considered homewood and tha port isnt even part of tha burgh
Wilkinsburg is ALSO not in the city of Pittsburgh, She was talking about the Pittsburgh area. McKeesport in in Allegheny County, So OBVIOUSLY "Pittsburgh Area". I'm only surprised she didn't mention McKees Rocks or Braddock.
@@jamesslick4790 homestead,munhall,whitaker,arnold/new ken...in all honesty in the last 10 yrs. the burbs really got turned out. gentrifacation ruined this city and hate all these yuppies and people who come here and destroyed the east end and north side....its a shame what they done to tha burgh. they stole out whole identity
Congrats on your Google search results. If you'd like to see unsafe neighborhoods IN PITTSBURGH, I can show you around. I'm sure you've been to none of the places listed unless you drove through on accident.
Sounds like another Puzzling summary of where and what the root of the problem is located. 🙈💩😜
Where are the minorities in Pittsburgh??
Homewood and McKeesport
Where’s the MOST abandoned buildings : residential and commercial ? Please respond
@@ronrocheleau3035 homewood and mckeesport both have a lot
There IS a demographic correlation to this list. I can't say it here as CZcams would delete my comment, But You don't need to be a rocket surgeon to noodle it out. Source: Been in The "Burg since 1962.
Poor?
No. There are poor people in low crime areas that lack , But also lack the same level of violence. YOU KNOW who I mean. Everyone knows who I mean.@@mrman3523
You could have made this video as a CZcams short by saying all the Black areas of Pittsburgh. But don't forget to include the white racism that built those areas. And Wilkinsburg has diverse soico/economic areas like Blackridge, Regent Square and the areas adjacent to those sections. But carry on.......
