I learned this arrangement from start to finish the day after I watched my Grandpa pass away. A year later, lookin at this vid, there were a lot of subtleties that I didn’t catch. This arrangement is simple but getting your fingers to get as even as possible is extremely difficult. Perfect transcription bro!!
Молодец, величайшая песня в прекрасном исполнении
unbelievable and unparalleled feel and respect that he puts into his arrangments
Feels sooo soulful mateus playing ❤️❤️🙏🏻
A very tasteful chord melody arrangement, letting the music breathe
I’m reminded of Arlen Roth for some reason…
To answer your video’s question: YES AF
I have a good ear but I'm not very theory savvy in terms of spelling things out, so maybe I am wrong...but I never noticed how this song sounds much like Georgia On My Mind until now. Again I could be wrong, but that will make a great lesson for me today, comparing the changes between the two.
Yip, that’s a take 👌. Soulful in spades 👍🏻.
I can only imagine Hendrix playing exactly like this
Really killer version. Love it.
The answer is an unequivocal YES
Great !!!!
Outplay is the wrong word. He does them justice.
am i high or should the blues lick at 7th bar start from e string (or b and e)
"I could play "Stairway To Heaven" when I was 12. Jimmy Page didn't actually write it until he was 22. I think that says quite a lot. " -Vim Fuego, Bad News
Is there a gpx file for this one?
Gp should be on Patreon
Beautiful, but on the scale of 1 to 10, he is about 5 frm the original recordings by the Fab Four.
So if one guy is 50% of the original recordings of 4 guys, that makes him twice as good as any one guy from the Fab Four right? Fantastic numbers you've put on these guys.
Mateus is a great player, but the real question is can he write something so universally beloved that someone will want to "outplay" him on it fifty years later.
Boomer energy. Why is that the real question, particularly on a channel that's essentially dedicated to skilled lead guitar playing?
If you transported young Lennon and McCartney into today's music business and zeitgeist of tastes leaning away from rock and guitar, there's absolutely no guarantee they would see anywhere near the kind of impact or success they did in the sixties.
Holding a 2020's guitarist like Mateus to the standard of the Beatles is unfair in so many ways.
Ok boomer
If he as alive in the 60s yeah probably. Those dudes had an unfair head start
But the real question is, can the Beatles beat Federer in tennis? No, wait, the real question is, can Federer paint like Picasso?
@@biscobisco1882 It's a real question because the title of the video is literally "can Mateus outplay the Beatles", what else are people supposed to talk about? You can't compare their music styles, but both's impact and influence over a generation of musicians can be seen. Plenty of Beatles' songs are still discovered today. The point isn't success, it's that great music is timeless.
Reminder to Levi that Mateus is considered math rock despite a clueless response that amounted to "LOL" sorry bro learn to google, there is something called consensus
Fascinating. Want to show us that consensus then? Because you’re using math rock in a way I’ve never heard a single person ever use it.
Even if it was a consensus, that’s an argument ad populum fallacy. Education is hard.
@@LeviClay "I’ve never heard a single person ever use it." Argument from ignorance fallacy.
"Education is hard" ad hominem. Unless you were making a confession.
@@banyarling I see statements, but I don’t see you presenting the thing I asked for. Did you miss it? Would you like me to ask it again?
Reading is hard.
@@LeviClay with peace and love
@@banyarling that’s what I figured
No!... no he can't
He doesn't outplay the Beatles.
He does though... can you imagine George, John or Paul pulling this off with anywhere near the proficiency of Mateus?
Yes, this is only a cover/reversioning at the end of the day, but Mateus is a better pure guitarist than anyone in The Beatles (I'm NOT talking about songwriting btw, where it's almost impossible to fuck with anyone in the Beatles).
