They fired Bickerstaff because he lost the locker room. His offensive playcalling was terrible and very limited and Mitchell did not get along with him nor did a few other players. I find it hilarious when you get sports analysts don’t know what they’re talking about

For the city of Los Angeles, LeBron generated an estimated total impact of $396 million (and counting), 3000 jobs, and $29 million in state tax revenue over the length of a five-year contract. And that’s for an entire city. The impact he’s had on the Lakers franchise is worth more than a championship which he also won them. Without LeBron the would be a superficial franchise up for sale.

The real question is do you want to coach LeGM for a year or two? If it’s only AD to build around then yes the job can be attractive. Nobody wants to coach LeBron just like nobody wanted to coach Kobe. Byron Scott to the job just for the money. Look at Scott now, no job.
Anyone with sense knew Bickerstaff weas gonna be fired and SHOULD have been fired. They will surprise a lot of people this upcoming season when their offense is elite and their defense is the best in the league. BIckerstaff murdered the offense and held back young players.

Bickerstaff had some flaws but he deserved another season. Garland was too passive. He had the ball enough to shoot between 15 and 20 times again. He was passing up shots too much.

The Lakers haven’t kept a head coach for more than a couple years since Phil Jackson, they have two old and injury prone stars, and they’ve fired every reliable coach or executive they’ve had like Magic, Byron Scott, and now Phil Handy. They just fired a head coach who has been swept in back to back years by the same team however maintaining a close point differential in both series. Ham was not the problem; yes he wasn’t an excellent coach, but his rotations were not the main issue. LeBron is too old to be the closer and star player and AD can’t anchor a defense anymore. Lakers should structure a long term contract with an experienced veteran coach with nothing to lose such as Mark Jackson and he’ll either bring order or lead a rebuild.
Not that shocking - Cavs have a younger, better core with more potential, weaker conference, etc...Lakers job will get you canned in a year or two anyway
but you have to live in Cleveland. People only stay there cuz of family.

Coaching Lebron in no way is a positive on a coach's career. Outside of Spo (who was already established in Miami) and Ty Lue (who took an already built team back to the finals) no other Lebron coach has gone on to a strong career post lebron.
