A Window to the Horizon in Mexico

The Z House is a residence located on one of the highest hills in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, offering unparalleled panoramic views. The main concept of the project was to create a minimalist house with spacious social spaces where users could enjoy the panoramic views and the region's climate.
Consisting of three staggered levels, the house adapts to the terrain's topography, respecting and taking advantage of its unique characteristics. The upper level houses the master bedroom, which provides a stunning view and the sensation of floating in the air due to its altitude. The intermediate level of the house serves as the main social area, with direct access to the balcony and pool area. The lower level features two additional bedrooms.
Due to the irregular land, the main access is located on the upper part of the land.
The street facade is protected by a double skin of vertical bamboo, providing privacy and solar protection to the interior space. The intermediate level of the house serves as the main social area, with direct access to the balcony and pool area. The infinity pool reflects the panoramic view and the ocean, creating a sense of flow and integration with the landscape.
The architectural design utilizes essential materials such as concrete, steel, local limestone, and bamboo. This combination of materials and local construction techniques gives the house a modern and tropical personality, successfully adapting to its context and establishing harmony with nature.
When visiting the Z House, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the stunning panoramic views, which become even more impressive at dusk. The location is perfect for leaving worries behind and surrendering to the charms of tropical rhythms of life.
