Jeff I have been thinking about buying 12 point 1/4 stubby sockets. Just in case one day a fastener is hidden in a spot that gives me a headache with a six point. And I realized, you can tell your viewers, if they need to convince their wife of why they need more tools.... One day, a small airplane might have to make an emergency landing on your street. And you would need 12 points to go help rescue the airplane and help the pilot fix the plane, in front of your house. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Let me know what she says. I'm single so I don't have to worry about it.
I love this series because it really helps people cut through the haze and get straightforward answers from someone who has plenty of practical experience with these ratchets!

That Tone 3/8 drive in a 1/4 body has gotten me out of a few jams too. It should be in a glass case that says 'In case of emergency break glass.' Great little ratchet.

Thanks for sharing, Jeff. My favorite 3/8" ratchet is my late '90's to early 2000's Craftsman full polish ratchet. I think that has the most comfortable metal handle I have. I wish Craftsman or someone else would copy that handle design because of how comfortable it is. The problem with most ratchet manufacturers is that they try to make their handles similar to the Snap-On in shape, and I wish more would try to set themselves apart by making a handle no one else is making. Of course, the top tier manufacturers, like Mac, etc., do but most of the mid to low tier don't.

Tekton followed suit like Tone offering 3/8 drive anvils in their 1/4 bodies. I picked up a repair kit from the Tekton website and converted a 1/4 flex head i had laying around. I also found a Tone 1/2 flex stubby, which is essentially a 1/2 drive anvil in a 3/8 body as well, never use it, but it great to have. Great video Jeff!

My favorite home ratchet is a Husky I bought probably 15 years ago. It looks to be a gearwrench variant, could be 72 tooth. That was a good buy, I've put a cheater pipe on it, dropped it, hammered it, that ratchet just keeps working. All its predecessors got scrapped.

Love my Koken 3753N. By far my favorite ratchet. For the price can’t beat it. I rarely find myself needing a small arc swing. Then I grab the 3725Z.

My favorite 3\8 rachet is my full polished pear shaped craftsman . I bought it round 2000 n it cost me $50 which was alot for me back then

I use the Tone RH3CH for the driver's side rear spark plug on 4 cyl. Subaus. The quick release version of the 3/8 Blackhawk 72 tooth art deco ratchet is a work of art and my favorite and yes it is discontinued. Proto is honoring the lifetime warranty.

I’m always suprised to not see snap on tools in these lists, but as someone who owns a lot of mid tier and also snap on, I get it. My favorite tools are usually the mid tiers as well

Love that little Tone ratchet. Need to pick on up. On a side note, I just picked up the 21 peace Quin 1/2 socket set with the quick release ratchet to keep in the truck as part of a road kit. The ratchet is a little chunky but super smooth. I was really surprised by how smooth it is.

I own three Tone ratchets. Since I’ve purchased several Ko-Ken ratchets, the Tone have become obsolete. I guess I’m kind of a Ko-Ken fanboy now, lol.

I have the capris I bought a month ago , my fav is the snap on 3/8 anvil in a 1/4 body small and compact. By the way I bought some of the icon last week took them apart and put Lucas oil stabilizer in it and seems to help with some of the back drag

I found that gear wrench laying in the dirt at the salvage yard. I've found a lot of tools out there but the gear wrench is one of my better finds.

My two favorites are the Proto J5249HTC and Stahlwille 435SG-QR. I have a Koken 3/8 drive in 1/4 body ratchet. Love that thing as well. So handy! Personal preference but I really do not like chrome handles that are knurled on my ratchets. To each their own!
