Not for sure, but I was talking to some other people about it, and I have a hypothesis. I think it's because the DC adapter wasn't under load. So if I took the reading while it was running the Star Wars toy, then it might have shown up as closer to 6 volts.
Did you ever figure out why two different 6V adapters were both providing closer to 10V?
