Paint can make a HUGE difference. We love that color too!
I painted my kitchen cabinets ( with new hardware) & it came out beautiful
Thank you - it looks stunning. Love the colour.
Thank you!
"Your tips made me feel like a DIY pro! Gonna give it a shot 😉"
You explained it so well! I feel like even i can try this
Thanks Taylor! You could definitely do it for your kitchen.
Tool guide , thank you
Great color
Thank u for detailed explanation
Tool guide. Thank you 🙏
Wow….. I might be able to actually spruce ( pun intended) my kitchen. Love the color and your step by step is great! I’d love to see your recommendation sheet too. Thanks so much!
Thank you.🙏🏿
Great video and very helpful
I really dig that color. Wow. Lol
Tool guide! Thanks

New subscriber, thank you for a very detailed tutorial. Did you use a top coat, and if not how does the paint hold up? Thanks 😊
Nice work! I don’t have a right angle drill adapter so when trying to unscrew something at an odd angle I use a socket wrench and have found that my phillips head bits (single sided, not the double sided bits containing phillips/flathead options) will fit snug within a 10mm or 11mm socket.
Thanks Mateo! That's a great idea, should have done that instead!
I did a similar process looks great but my hardware is almost 60 years old and showing its age and you can definitely see the high traffic cabinets are having chips coming off. I'd love to see an update video in a few months to see how well the paint holds up
So I’m thinking you would generally want to paint the back side first to avoid any possibility of marks on the front facing side.
Good call out. That’s what I did.
Awesome work, dude! It really turned out fantastic! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you!!
This is making me feel way too confident. That doesn’t seem to end well for me ever 🤡
🤣
Same
😂😅😂
Me too 😂
Got to try. U can do it👍🏽
Will this work I have pine cabinets that have a coating over pine wood
Thank you! I’ve been buying homes and renting them out after awhile and I’d like to add nice things and not keep every home i buy cookie cutter and with that I can’t afford to call a pro painter every time. Thanks for the money save
I have kitchen units that have clear lacquer coming away at the edges on some fronts. Do you know a simple way to remove the "scabby" edge before re-lacquering. Tempted to rub down with very fine wet/dry paper, but can't afford to get it wrong.
This was great love the puppy omg...any animal lover has got my ear. 🥰💯🫶🙏😂
You didn’t get bubbles when you rolled? I am struggling so much with this paint. Actually found your video looking for a different way to paint our cabinets than using heirloom paint because I’m having so much difficulty getting a smooth finish!!
Great video 🫡
paint the backside first , you always want to do all you can to protect the face side from marring ..... and if you're going to use a mini roller . might as well just use a mini roller , no need to apply with a brush then go over it with a mini roller
Good day ! Great video ! Will that process work with laminated cabinets mine look so 1977 ish ! Thankyou in advance for your time !!
I checked the FAQ section of the paint type I used and it said, "With ALL-IN-ONE Paint you can paint almost every surface inside and outside of your home. That includes wood, laminate, thermofoil, countertops, leather/vinyl, smooth fabrics, plastic, masonry, ceramic/tile, outdoor furniture, leather/vinyl auto seats, convertible tops, boat seats, shutters, front door and more!"
I have old kitchen cabinets and am considering painting them. I noticed on some of the sides it looks more like a laminate than wood...would that change the process at all?
One of the best painting videos. Very confident presentation
No priming needed?
Thanks! And nope, didn’t prime anything.
Love the color! Do you have any problems with the painted cabinet doors sticking to the cabinet frames?
Yes, they did for a bit. But to fix that, I kept all the doors open for the night and then added those little rubber stoppers. Just needs a little time to fully dry/cure.
Roller idea works great but better results if u don’t use Foam Roller, it causes air bubbles.
Great video!!
Do you think the same process would work to paint stair railings? 😅
I really like the idea of not having to sand everything
Thanks! You know, I’m not too sure. I’d imagine it would? These cabinets had some clear coating on them and I painted right over that.
I’m inlove with this color . What is the name of this color?
Number one I love your color number two. Did you put anything after the paint was dry like polyurethane or some kind of protective coating?
1. Thank you and 2. I did not, just 2 coats of paint!
I used a broken plastic clothes hanger to mix my paint. Fits right in the drill and the end of it has a wide part. Mixes paint with no problem and was free.
It looks like my kirchen is about the same size as yours. How many gallons of paint did you use?
Did you take all cabinet doors off when painting?
Just one gallon for all of it, two coats. And yes, I removed them all.
What about the big box stores paint like Vaspor semi gloss, do I need to sand before?
It looks like they have an all in one type of paint that doesn’t require sanding.
@@CasualBuilds thank you so much! Great video by the way, the color is really gorgeous and I love how you can see the wood pattern underneath the paint.
Thank you! Thinking about painting your kitchen too?
@@CasualBuilds yes. It is a very big project, I’m a first time painter and quite ambitious. Trying to avoid multiple steps like sanding and using a primer, but afraid it would cost me in the quality of the job. 😅
Tool Guide , I have a question, the paint you used, does it have a sealer in it ? That way when you go to clean the cabinet because something got on there and it doesn’t hurt the paint when you go to clean it off . Also the cabinets would look shiny, and protect the paint. Or would I have to use a gloss paint to get that effect?
I left a link to the paint I used in the description. It’s not shiny. And no, if you clean it, it doesn’t hurt the paint.

Color for a very small u shaped kitchen
Any problems with brush marks or roller stipple?
Nope!
How is about use for spray gun? Need thinners?
How is durability???
Not sure about spraying. I think it'd use much more paint if you sprayed. No thinners and durability is still great.
Will this work on cheap laminate cupboards?
No. Laminate is un paintable.
Did you paint the outside AND inside of every cabinet door?
Sure did!
I am in the process of painting my cabinets. My cabinets have a glossy finish but I can scrape off new paint with my nail. Any ideas?
Hard to say. What paint are you using? Did you clean them all first? How many coats? What was the drying time?
@@CasualBuilds yes I cleaned them first. I put one coat of each of these products.
1. An all in one paint (Beyond paint)
2. Primer then paint.
3. Just paint
I let them dry for 24 hours too.
@@timmyp_NINERS OH no sorry to hear that . This process works okay i guess if you barely use your kitchen. But if you do on the daily, you would want your hard work to last for years. No way im a professional and far from it. From doing my homework, Paint needs to adhere to something. Priming helps with paint adhesion. And you have done that step as well. So now we have to ask what is the primer adhering to, was the last coat sprayed over your cabinets from the builder or manufacturer polyurethane? is the top coat smooth and shiny? Whatever the top coat on your cabinet is, may be the culprit to easy peeling. Thats why sanding is always recommended or at least "SCUFF" the surface for paint to grab onto. And of course, removing grease and oil from cooking. Cabinet refinishing is a painstakingly long process. I have done mines once, i did it right, and 2 years after it still looks as good as Day One. I hope yours will too and save money along the way doing it yourself. "Go Niners"
@@racktech6384 thank you for that advice. The coating on the cabinets is shiny. I tried the scuffying up process also and it scaped off. I just cleaned the doors really good and just painted the framework of the cabinets and I didn't paint doors. Seems to be working better that way. We shall see. And yes GOOO NINERS!!!
Tool guide, please. Thanks!

Painting actually isn't hard.. it takes research, technique and planning
Not so sure your finish will hold up over time. I think you missed 2 important steps. Sanding and priming especially with a high end adhesion primer. Good luck I hope it works out,
It’s always sad watching beautiful wood cabinets being painted, such a waste of the natural beauty of wood. Being a woodworker, it makes me sad.
😢
Definitely don't agree with all of this.
