Highly offensive. Best fit for Dame is utah jazz. dame loves utah and players for weber st and has said he loves it here.
Somebody is clueless about the jazz. The jazz may not be ready fpr Dame but they have the draft capital players and traded Ainge. Suspect portland want good players, cap relief and picks. That’ll require five teams and a win win for all of them.
For example: Boston: snt dok simone 2nd pick
      Nets: sexton 2nd pick
Suns: nurkic no pick needed tax relief
Portland: tht Johnny Ayton Williams Royce
3 frp all top 5 protected by jazz
      Jazz: Dame and cam Thomas.
      It all works!

The blazers should try their best to get Dame to Miami, but not if Miami is going to lowball and act like they are somehow entitled to Dame. It's up to Miami's front office to figure out how to make this work more than it's up to Portland. I said "Can you name one player on the market that could have taken Portland from the third pick in the draft to a title contender in one year?" A title contender is a team that has a reasonable shot of doing more than just getting into the play-in or maybe a first-round exit. I also am waiting for you to name a player on the open market that Portland could have gotten with the No. 3 pick in the draft that could do it.
"simply wanted a competitive roster he could take to the playoffs."
This is the same player who is making $50 million per year, right? The same person who said he wanted Portland to re-sign Jerami Grant, and soon as Portland did, he announced he wanted a trade. So go ahead and name the player you think Portland could have gotten the Blazers from 13th in the West to the playoffs, given how Portland already is financially strapped without adding anyone. They gave Dame half a billion dollars already, they don't owe him dooming the team to mediocrity so dame gets to go where he wants to go. Get a haul for him from a competitive team and try again in a couple years. Heat have no draft picks to really offer and the best player you are getting back is Tyler Herro? Here is what Chris Broussard is not understanding: Recent NBA history shows that players the caliber of Damian Lillard largely don't get sent to dysfunctional or rebuilding teams. A contending team believes a player like that can be the missing link to a championship, and a few times it has been the case.
Clyde Drexler was the greatest player in Portland history and 30 years ago he demanded a trade to Houston, which was the defending champion. Houston won a second ring with Drexler as the No. 2 man. Kevin Garnett was "loyal" to Minnesota and got traded to Boston, which just paired Ray Allen with Paul Pierce. Boston won a title the next season.
Even some problematic players such as Shaquille O'Neal (Los Angeles Lakers to Miami), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland to Boston), Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio to Toronto) and James Harden (Houston to Brooklyn to Philadelphia) got traded to playoff contenders. Not to mention Shaq and Kawhi won titles during their stopovers.

It's in Portland's interest to listen to Dame and send him to Miami due to the message it sends your young potential superstar who you just drafted. The example that the Lakers set when they gave Kobe a max contract after his achilles, knowing full-well, he's not going to bring a championship at that point, sends a message to superstars around the league that, "we take care of ours." If you're Portland and you don't listen to Dame, it sends a bad message to Scoot Henderson, who now is "MORE LIKELY" to leave first chance he gets.

I respect your take, however, players want their money. There’s no such thing as loyalty I sports between player and team. Loyalty is team and fans. The Lakers have always taken care of their iconic players, Kobe is the Lakers just from what he brought to the organization. Dame didn’t have to sign an extension last year. He wanted his money. Now he’ll have to deal with whatever team Portland agrees to trade him to. Unless I’m getting Bam in the trade, Miami’s package just isn’t strong enough.

But answer me this: if you send Dame to some washed team with no chance of winning, what goes through Scoot's mental process when his rookie contract is up? Should we not be planting the seeds of the future as well? I agree there's no such thing as loyalty between team and player and vice versa, but then as the team, if I'm demonstrating that we're "player-friendly", it is actually in your interest, the player, to stay with us, because the team's past actions spoke to you, "if we fail to set you up, we will do right by you." But I get you too, nothing is promised so sometimes it's just take what you can now.
