    Beautiful bike, but that top box “Steamer trunk” looks ridiculously large. Ride safe.

      @photobiker4309  Před rokem

      The topbox is slightly larger than the BMW topbox. There are definitely much larger boxes out there for top boxes, which I didn't fancy.

    Lovely bike health to enjoy! I put a mudsling on mine but found the exhaust still got filthy. I added a cheap rear hugger, £44, which keeps the rear end much cleaner. The only thing was it rubbed against the mudsling so I have removed the mudsling and am quite happy now 😀

    Try a Puig windscreen if you ride in cold weather a lot. I just replaced the factory windscreen with a light smoke Puig. What a difference. It protects a lot better from the wind. Looks great too.
    P.S. I wish I had an ability to turn off the low beam headlight whrn riding at daytime. The lit X looks very cool without the headlight on.

    You should wrap the protection bar protectors in rubber or foam to protect THEM from scratches and install a liner in the fenders so the new fender-extender doesn’t get dirty 😂. Nah, just messing with you. Enjoy this gorgeous GS Trophy!

      @photobiker4309  Před rokem

      Yeah, I've thought about getting a large foam bubble for around the bike, and then mount crash bars on that ..... 😁The endless cycle of protection.
      I did get a ceramic coating on the bike, to protect the paintwork.

    • @photobiker4309

      They are actually the BMW OEM pannier straps -

    Nice upgrades! Great bike! You might want to add an engine guard support/reinforcement bar because those guard will bend. I dropped my bike and the engine guard got bent and ‘kissed’ the engine.

    Luxury biking is expensive but IMHO it is vastly better value in so many different ways than similarly priced cars especially if the bike is your primary/sole transport throughout the whole year.

      I actually wired them myself. It was fiddly to run the cables, but just took time and a bit of effort. The wiring looms had all the connectors needed. I bought all lights from A Bike Thing in the UK. All I had to do was run the cables and then connect the Hex ezCan to the battery.

      @photobiker4309  Před rokem +1

      @@halfarsedbiker I started to pull it apart, and then realised that I didn't need to. Only remove a few of the small ones, and then just find the routing gap up to the front of the bike, along the frame.
      In fairness, most bike mechanics would be able to do it for you. Just ask your local dealer or mechanic.

    • @photobiker4309
      @photobiker4309  Před rokem +1

      BMW phone holder is expensive (€240+). BMW Nav 6 is also expensive (€780), especially when the BMW app, Waze and Google Maps are much more reliable and more frequently updated. The phone holder cost me €26. It just came down to cost.

      @photobiker4309  Před rokem

      I had all the extras a month or two before I had the bike, so I can totally relate. 🙂
      I'm 6'1. I put the seat in the lower position, and I can flat foot. In the higher position, I am not uncomfortable, but not totally flat footed. It's on the standard frame height, and using the auto suspension.

      The panniers come in different sizes, so it's personal taste. I like these larger ones. Handy for trips, especially for luggage for two people. I've two major trips planned this year, first in June, across to northern France and over to Belgium, and then in Aug a trip around Ireland. They also don't come out that much more than the front crashbars and handguards.

    • @nealhinerman1649
      @nealhinerman1649 Před měsícem

      I love my panniers! My Adventure is my primary vehicle, so I use it for everything.
      During the lockdown I would regularly take three 24" monitors & three laptops to my local FedEx store for shipping.
      One monitor would fit in the big pannier, two would be strapped on the seat & small pannier, and the laptops would be in the top case.
      I never take my panniers off. They provide a little bit of protection from people merging into you (I had that happen twice in October of last year), and it makes the bike much easier to pick up when you drop it.
