How do you prep your skin for foundation? Let’s share tips in the comments.
A makeup artist told me to use Abolene to remove my makeup. She showed me rub it between my fingers for several seconds so that it would warm up to skin temperature and be more effective.
I'm thinking that technique might work well for the Good Molecules cleanser so it's not so chunky.

Hey Laura Rae! Love this video! I've been thinking about using a balm of some sort for when I want to cleanse without splashing water all over the place. I'm currently using micellar water on dual-textured cotton pads; a little rubbing with the exfoliating side of the pad gives me that extra something that removes all my makeup and the water-resistant SPF underneath. Then I follow with a wipedown with a wrung-out wet microfiber cloth. I let my face air-dry, then I proceed with Vitamin C serum meant for the eye area, but it's really nice for the whole face and especially on my wrinkly turkey neck. I let that sink in a bit and then go over most of my face with a K beauty moisture cream I found that contains Zeolite, a naturally disinfecting mineral. Once the serum and moisturizer have set in, then I follow with tinted SPF and makeup. I've been doing this routine for over a month now and I love that my skin is softer and smoother but without that too-tight shine and no flakiness. So I'm not sure if the balm process would work as well for me, but I'd like to try one of the less expensive ones just to see. Thank you for sharing your views of another CZcamsr's tips, there really aren't too many other "influencers" who are secure enough to do that. Sharing information is so valuable these days when products are so expensive!

My 59 year old skin is dry to normal. I started using the DAlba truffle spray a year ago and love it!! I use the regular at night, and the rose during the day. Instantly moisturizes without giving an oily feeling. Always my 1st step after face wash.

I use E.L.F. cleansing balm. It's about $15.00 and is so smooth and effective. I also use E.L.F. Holy Hydration moisturizer 30 SPF and without it (for night) and the eye cream. Aesthetically, they look beautiful in my medicine cabinet. E.L.F.'s primer is as good as Lancome's. Once a week I use an exfoliating scrub to make my skin feel smoother. And believe it or not, I love Noxema cream to waash my face!
Happy Monday, Laura! Thanks for this. Have you tried the ELF Holy Hydration Cleansing Balm? I have been loving it as a first cleansing step. I do not have dry skin, but I think you will love using it like the Elemis. I think it's better than Neutrogena.
I follow up with rosewater as a "toner", then a facial soap.
Mama and Grandmama used good old Ponds, and let it set before wiping off, too.❤

I have used Elemis for years, and a few months ago I tried the Juno & Co cleansing balm. I 100% prefer the Juno. They are almost identical in cleansing ability, but I prefer the Juno scent. It is incredible!

I live watching Spencer. I am going to try an oil or balm on the morning and the d alba I've seen him also use the d alba after powder to set. Either way I adore that mist.
so, where does your regular skin care come in since you are using a cleansing balm as part of your prep? When did you put on your moisturizer and sunscreen in relation?

You could put your sunscreen on, let it dry down a bit and use this as a luminous primer. I am trying it different ways and will share them in future videos. When I use this I don’t need a moisturizer. ❤️

In complete agreement with the other comments regarding your skin, your skin is just beautiful! I'll be honest, the Elemis out of my current budget, but the truffle oil looks so incredible, and doesn't cost a fortune. I would like to say that I applaud your attribution practice. It means a lot to me that your integrity is so high. I dislike when some of my favorite women on CZcams do a video showing a technique that someone else, like Wayne Goss, or Painted by Spencer, demonstrated just a few days prior and they do not attribute it to that makeup artist. Not only does it make me trust them less, and doubt their integrity, but I feel they think I'm stupid and assume that I'm not watching anyone else but them.

Bentonite clay mask. Is my skin saver. It gets the dead, dull skin off and lets my moisturize work really well. My makeup looks air brush. TFS. Take care.

I'm a bit confused by the suggestion to use cleansing balm in the morning. Normally you would use it in the evening to remove makeup and sunscreen, then only require water or a light cleanser in the a.m. Do you think he is suggesting to use it twice a day?
My take is he is suggesting to use it before to hydrate the skin before applying makeup. He does this when he is doing makeup to add hydration. The cleansing balm makes a great mask. Usually, I would use cleansing balm at night.❤️

The D’Alba reminds me of the Pixie Glow Mist (has same oil/water-nice!) but it is around $10. It has a fabulous mist and I can even use it with my contacts. You might want to compare. I love the idea of this D’Alba-but…the $ keeps me saying no when there is a product half the price at Target.
I got the Elemis cleanser when I saw Spencer use it on the older model in a makeup demo. There was a 30% sale at the time! It lasts and lasts.. I take it off with a warm damp cloth and that help makes it dreamy after. I love the smell-very “spa”. But the $, again, is very high and I will not repurchase.
What about sunscreen?
I felt that way about the PTR Cleansing Butter...thank goodness it is discontinued!
I love watching Spencer makeup tutorials...but I'm wondering if you have to be selective in your sunscreen choice. Would it break up your sunscreen since it has oil in it? Hmm??

Beautiful glow!! I was wanting to try the IT CC Nude glow, but I don't like over-glowy either... Mrs. Laura, do you think the IT CC foundation that you have here is better, not too glowy?? I personally like adding the glow myself rather than having it in the CC Cream. This way I can control the amount of glow.❤️

First of all...how do you manage to do this before school??? I am up at 5:15 just getting ready...LOL...and end up rushing out the door. You are amazing. Secondly, the technique is very nice. I do something kind of similar using different products. I have used PTR Cleansing Butter in the past...I loved it and it was a splurge. It is, I am pretty sure...discontinued...can't find it anywhere. I used to leave it on my face. It felt like a spa. I have tried the IT foundation, BBs, and CCs, but I never liked them. They seemed to oxidize and were a bit too heavy. You put in a very full day between school and CZcams. Ahhhh...to be young again😊

Make sure to tap or press. Swiping could leave streaks depending on the formula of the foundation. You may want to blend the CC cream in a bit with your fingers then go in with the brush to blend.❤️
Love the truffle spray, combo skin more to the oily side, I like the smell. Your skin looked fantastic with nothing on it!
Do you use the melting balm only when you have makeup on?
Usually, I use the balm at night. It would be helpful in the morning if your skin is dry. It is very hydrating!❤️
Laura, would sunscreen go on before or after the truffle spray? Also I assume the truffle spray takes the place of moisturizer, correct?
I put the sunscreen on before the truffle spray. The spray can be used like a setting spray. I have been mixing it into foundation and that has worked beautifully!❤️
Hi Laura Rae, It looks like you no longer use the cushion compacts for your foundation or tint. Is this just because you love that brush, or something else?

Hi Laura Rae😊 I'm going to go frugal and am wondering if organic coconut oil would work as a cleansing balm? Crazy right? I have super dry but not flakey skin (70😮) and use .1% RetinA nightly. No flaking but there must be😂
Even though I'm 66, I still have oily skin. Do you think the truffle is still a good product for me?
I believe you could use it because it is also a setting spray. I would not spray it directly on your face. I would spray it on a sponge or brush so you can control the amount better.❤️

The good molecules cleanser got very stinky in a very short time. I like their other cleanser that is not solid.
