  • Tohle není rozhovor. Tohle je příběh kapely. Seether patří mezi nejvýraznější tváře stylu post-grunge, který na přelomu milénia ovládl zámořskou alternativně rockovou scénu a vygeneroval pro ni jména jako Shinedown, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down nebo Staind. Zatímco většina z nich stihla během let nenávratně zmizet v propadlišti dějin, Seether jsou stále při síle a na konci září poctili Českou republiku hned dvěma koncerty - před tím prvním, který proběhl 29.9.2017 v pražském Lucerna Music Baru, poskytli zpěvák Shaun Morgan a baskytarista Dale Stewart Metalshop TV tento exkluzivní vhled do jejich mnohdy trnité historie, poznamenané nekompetentními producenty, pocitem odcizení i rozmary chamtivého vydavatelství, v jehož područí museli nuceně vytrvat dlouhých 12 let. Nakonec má ale tento příběh, zdá se, přece jenom šťastný konec...
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    This is a story of Seether. Seether is a South African post-grunge band, part of alternative rock renaissance in early 2000s which generated bands such as Shinedown, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down or Staind. While many others have fallen along the way, Seether are still going strong with two sold-out shows in Czech Republic in September 2017. Metalshop TV sat down with singer Shaun Morgan and bass guitarist Dale Stewart in Prague to talk about their complicated past which suffered from lack of producers' interest and greedy record label - both holding them back from following their creative goals and visions. After all the struggle in their past, it seems like Seether are marching towards better days now...

    What he said about Holding Onto String Better Left To Fray is exaclty what i think about this album. It is good album but it should be heavier. It is interesting to hear what the band think about their own work.

    • @illustrate303
      @illustrate303 Před 6 lety +1

      Bulsky exactly. Not saying they are not still solid but they still haven’t captured that raw energy they had on Karma and Disclaimer where they were a real heavy rock band. That’s my Seether. I know bands evolve but still wish they would get a little heavier again cuz Shawn has this raw scream that no one else quite sounds like

    • @DavidS-kz7ik
      @DavidS-kz7ik Před 4 lety

      @@illustrate303 : Poison The Parish is their heaviest album to date and their new songs that just came out are heavy too. In theory, they're actually getting heavier.

    • @illustrate303
      @illustrate303 Před 4 lety

      David S some songs yes. But put in Karma and Effect and it’s a banger from the start w the first song. Then put in Poison and it’s just not as full and I’m mainly talking instrumental wise. Guitars are just way heavier on Karma and Poison just a little more poppy rhythm sounding guitar parts that are little more quiet and Shawn screams on like every song on Karma except the gift and maybe one other. Don’t get me wrong I think Poison is their best since Karma I really like it, wish more of it was like the heavy parts in betray and degrade but I realize that’s just my opinion

    What did he say about writing Remedy? Can’t tell if he said, “wish I never wrote that song ” or “I wish I could write that song again” can’t tell if he meant he hates the son cuz it got so big and was tired of playing it or if he wishes he could write another hit song like that again. I’m just curious

    • @aaronbusby3752
      @aaronbusby3752 Před 6 lety +3

      He said that he wished he could write that song again. Seether don't seem to care too much about having music that blows up, they seem to care more about making music that is true to themselves and what they enjoy. Popularity doesn't seem to come into it for them. And if it did, they would more than likely promote Rise Above Fest or actual good rock music, which are both worthy causes.

      I think they should work with Terry Date. He's produced, engineered and mixed alot of great albums. He's worked with Pantera, Slayer, Soundgarden, Deftones, Staind, Unearth, Dream Theater, Limp Bizkit. So many others. I think he woukd fit perfect with Seether.

    @rodneypearcy8399 Před 4 lety +2

    I'm not really sure how the industry works but I'm wondering why they can't produce their own stuff. I know other bands have done it and it might save Shaun and the rest of the band all the headache and stress from shitty producers.

      @Bulsky Před 2 lety +1
