  • Shinedown have been going for over 20 years now and it seems that their career gets more and more successful; they have the most number 1 singles on the Billboard rock charts, tying with Three Days Grace... they have released 7 albums including the incredibly successful Sound Of Madness along with Attention Attention... They have had a lineup change when Brent Smith invited Zach Myers and Eric Bass into the band and this all started when Brent Smith signed to Atlantic Records with his old band Dreve.
    They have made appearances at the o2 arena with Alter Bridge and Iron Maiden plus played at many heavy metal and hard rock / rock music festivals such as Download Festival.
    Here is the strange career of Shinedown and the interesting history plus why they're successful.

    I love shinedown so much. Their lyrics speak to my soul. I feel like their reach has a lot to do with their authenticity and connection with the human condition. And they really do have a song for everyone

    I’ve been a fan of shinedown for the past 10 years. Brent’s vocals and the instrumental arrangements are unlike any other band. They take you on an emotional and audio roller coaster with every song.

    Totally agree with your analysis here. I think Shinedown has done a great job of evolving and growing and really establishing a successful "signature sound". For me personally, what keeps bringing me back more and more is Brent's voice and his expressive and emotional honesty and delivery. "Attention Attention" is probably my most-played album,.. but Planet Zero is really getting heavy repeat time in my car currently. They are one of the Bands now that when I hear news of upcoming album, I get really excited. I've never seen them live !.. so hopefully I can fix that soon.

    i've been a fan for at least 10 years and to me, their music just speaks to me. And I think that's what draws people in. They haven't shied away from talking about mental illness, and recovering from substance abuse in their songs and people really connect with it. It's like Brent once said in an interview, music is medicine for your soul. :)

    The reason why this band is #1 is because they are true to the meanings of each song they put out and every one has a story to be told.There journey is not over and wont be for a very long time. Love them.🥰🐿

    Another interesting fact is that recently the song "Dead dont die" from planet zero just became their 20th number 1 on active rock and was the most played Shinedown single on active rock in 1 week ever, and the most played song in 1 week overall since hardwired to self destruct by metallica back in 2016, 20 years into their career....

  • @dmcgOR7644
    @dmcgOR7644 Před rokem

    I think they rock! It seems to me that they are able to cover so many genres while still keeping their sound if that makes sense. I see this same trend with other rock bands such as Nickle Back who can go from what some might consider country all the way to heavy rock. I thinks its natural for true musicians to experiment and find things that work with-in their artistic taste. Plus its obsoletely normal for a musician to sound different when playing with different people or influences. Shinedown in particular has done very well with this and their songs touch a large audience. I experience a large range of emotion while listening to the catalog of music that I have of theirs.

    Brent Smith is a hell of a vocalist and writer. However I will say it's a voice your going to love or hate. I love it dude range I think is insane. The whole band I've been a fan of since I first heard 45 when I was like 17 lol and my favorite song is heros... Idk why that last part was important or why anything I said was for that matter.....

    • @maryhelenbuchele7342
      @maryhelenbuchele7342 Před 7 měsíci

      You again lol It does seem most would agree that that more pop sound is why they are so popular. If they would have stayed with the hard rock sound I don't think they would be popular. They do alot with the money they make. They always give to charities, gave 100.000 to Direct relief besides raising 400.000 around Covid. Just gave $1 for every ticket sold from a big tour to Suicide Prevention. I think things wouldn't have been the same if the band stayed the way it was.
