I am a native speaker of tamil, one of the oldest language continuously spoken in the world... a very moving video for me...
We too invented new words in our language that was not mentioned in our ancient literature...
One such example is Bus ,
we broke it to "perundhu'' (பேருந்து) ...Which is a mix of two ancient tamil words Big + Push = Bus, per (பேர்,பெரிய) which means Big + undhu (உந்து) means push ... Thus perunthu was born in Tamil as a Tamil word...
Yet there are some noun/technical words that we find extremely challenging like , virus, rhumetology, swab etc...Where we have no other option but to use English...
Wondering how much this Ben Eleazar Yehuda must have suffered to revive this phenomenal language!!
We bow with respect!! Gonna make a video on him and share it to my fellow brethren!!

He made it informative, interesting, or frankly, fascinating.

Shalom: The best place to learn Hebrew is in Israel, but if that is impossible, there are free youtube videos and online courses. The problem with the youtube videos is that they go a bit too quickly. Online courses can be expensive. In Israel there are wonderful ulpan classes and then you can talk with people all day for free. Good luck to you!

But please can you insert details - which languages did Ben Yehuda speak ("many languages" is too vague); dates when was Betsetel founded etc etc. And why not subtitles on 26' when the curator reads EBY's notes? The king James bible was translated into English from Greek and Hebrew for the New testament and old testament. that was by 50 PhD protestant linguists in early 1600's. Then propagated by printing press.
So the PhD linguist were from Cambridge and Oxford Universities in England that had for centuries departments for reviving ancient and dead languages.
Latin was not allowed and King James had soldiers guard the translators so that no papist could get in and corrupt the work with latin.
It is because of the King James bible in English that English is the main language on the earth. So Hebrew also was revived by the work done on the King James bible, as Hebrew had to be recreated to do the translations into English from Hebrew old testament without even one error.
However, how Hebrew sounded would have been creating of a language from the written record at least as great as creating English from the written English translation, all the new words etc.
If not for the King James Bible all the earth and all education would still be in Latin. But English comes from the King James Bible.

First man Adam spoke in holy language Hebrew. He placed his hand in a stream, lifted hand up and said: Ma? Mayim!
Later generations Teutonic man placed hand in stream and said: Vass? Vasser!
Later generations Latin man placed hand in stream and said: What? Water!
    Etc. Quoi? Aqua!
    Adam means man in Hebrew.
In Hebrew: D in Adam stands for Hebrew word Dam=blood.
M in Adam stands for Hebrew word Mayim=water. A in Adam stands for Hebrew word afer or affar meaning dust.
Thus is man comprised of blood, water, dust.
Thus is Hebrew a holy language.

Modern Hebrew reads like all perverted versions of The Bible. King James beautifully designed English letters Represent all languages everywhere And that they break apart and form words inside of words Hebrew is not made to go around the world And they wouldn't allow it so God had to have a language that would represent everybody in a form that representative everybody This form has been put away By people who want to control what you think King James 1611 English letters Do just that. Don't read it like every other Bible. The words break apart to make more words. Which is the holy ghost Not Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives you the idea the holy ghost motivates you. When the words break apart they make other words which are tounges. Yes tounges. Not rolling around on the floor tongues. But everything done in order tongues. These extra words confirm the word written on the page which create a situation but you cannot what's written Because you know what they were thinking when they were writing. All language did this. And all men who knew about this And didn't like it Hit it from educational institutions. Shakespeare and all the major writers dictionary writers You name it. Put words inside of words so you couldn't change what they were Writing Because you knew what they were thinking
