    Make an option for a belt drive on the Vektron and you can have my money. C’mon, Tern!

    This is a great instructional video. Coming from conventional breaks it may need caution to not lock the hydraulic breaks when panic breaking. It is good to practice breaking in a safe environment first at slow speeds.

    It needs a belt and the kiox...
    The dark green is beautiful. It should be available on the amazing S00!

    Great video all around. I own a 2013 Tern Link D8. I added an e-kit about two years later. I love it.

      Is it cheaper and or any better to do it that way? I looked at the d8 but i live in the hills in norway and i would benefit more from a electric as i dont have a car and dont like public tranaport.as per now i walk and carry everything... i need a bike that is good in winter weather and low maintainanse. I wish this bike had a carbon belt .

      @@maylissbjerke9204 I think when I first bought my bike it was only offered as a kit or that offer came a year later. As for cheaper, not really. In the end I paid about the same as I would if I got it as an e-bike to begin with. I didn't think about an e-bike until after I got my bike and was a summer or two later when I did it. But it is just the same; installed the same way and I had it done at a bike shop who specializes in the install.
      There might be rental places in your area for you to try them out before you buy an e-bike. Good luck to you. Cheers! :)

      @@OntarioAndrews415 thanks.yes im going with my sister and niese to try out the tern e-bikes on friday 14th. 😅 ,cant wait...!! in norway there is only one shop who takes them in and its close by ,but they dont have to many alternatives or colours,they only got one with carbonbelt,and i think longterm it would be the best option, as far as i did my research on it bring less maintainanse.. have a good day. ☀️

      @@maylissbjerke9204 Hi again, before I got my Tern I went to their US website and saw a colour I wanted. Then, here in Canada, I asked my local bike shop who did carry that model Tern, if they could get it for me in the colour I wanted (which was not on Canada's Tern website) and they did! So it never hurts to ask. :)
      Enjoy your new bike when you get it. Cheers!

    This is an excellent overview of the Vektron S10. I just bought and received my new S10 gen 3 and love it so far. I did notice that the right side pedal has a quick release to remove despite the video saying that on the new bike it isn’t necessary to remove the right pedal for folding. There is not, however at stow spot on the seat as the video stated. Why does the right pedal have a quick release if it’s not necessary to remove it for folding?

    • @ternbicycles
      @ternbicycles  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Terry! We are happy to hear you are liking the S10! The Vektron S10 has been specced with the MKS EZ pedals since Gen 1. On the Gen 1 bikes, it was a little more necessary to remove the right pedal for a smaller folded package. Even though we updated the frame, and the removability of the pedals is no longer necessary, we decided to stick with the MKS because of their quality.

    Sehr gut! Wirklich gute Architektur!
    Extrawünsche wie Rohloff / Riemen mit Rahmenschloß u. CX 85Nm, oder Pinion mit Heckmotor / Riemen 60Nm möglich?
    Auch wichtig: Mit Salzwasserresisten Schrauben, Speichen, Lagern, Bremsscheiben usw. für den gut betuchten Yacht-Segler, der in jedem Hafen eine andere Lieblingsbäckerei hat? ;-)

    What happens if you fold the handlebar stem down, without first raising the brake levers?

  • @miata1370
    @miata1370 Před 3 lety +1

    Just picked up our new Vektron P9 yesterday and attempted the folding procedure by myself for the first time. I
    have a suggestion for the folding procedure when it comes to "Step #3" of the folding procedure. Not only do you need to re-position the handlebars with brake levers facing up, but depending on your riding position, you may also need to rotate the bar downward to create enough slack in the cables to complete the proceed when it comes to "Step #7", folding down the handlebars. If you find the cables are binding you up, that likely is the reason; you'll need to rotate the bars downward (while still keeping the brake levers pointing up). Ask me how I know.....don't force the issue or you risk scraping up your cables!

    for me, it looks more substantial than Brompton but I feel it has a lot of extra metal around also the battery is small and speed limit ??

    • @frankfurter7260
      @frankfurter7260 Před rokem +2

      IMO, the Brompton feels like a toy in comparison and not in a safe to ride in the city way. I have a bag in the front and back of the S10 and can haul up to 50lbs in the back and around 15lbs in front. While I haven’t tested the limits, whenever I’ve loaded it up with stuff it feels stable. S10 came with a Bosch 400 watt battery. I wish I had the option to get the 500 watt version but they didn’t offer any options. 😢 (I replaced the seatpost with a third party suspension seatpost.) Range hasn’t been a problem. I ride all around my city and haven’t had an issue with battery life. The range is around 27 miles to 55 or so miles depending on assist, outside temperature and your weight. The Bosch e-bike battery range calculator is fairly accurate (google it). It’s a US Class 1 bike and does up to 20 MPH with assist. I could spend a long time explaining how life changing it is and how much I like it but I suggest you take a test drive if you are serious about the bike. I keep it in my apartment and consider it the ultimate city bike. It fits folded and standing up in a hatchback car too or on a back car seat.
