    Me and my wife used to talk about Bob Dylan all day before we got married. I took her to her first concert which was John Mayer and he played this. It was so serendipitous that me and her sat there and knew we were meant to be together.

    Dylan is awesome. . John Mayer is awesome. . I haven't enjoyed anyone covering Dylan so much since when Jerry was still alive. ..

    This actually sounds like Jerry Garcias guitar sound at times.

    They didn't even do the last verse. It kinda ties the song together..

      He thought about it but decided it would be too close to directly copying Jerry. Wanted something that nodded to him but was still unique (Source: Guitar World Magazine interview)

    This song should have been an unplugged version..too much guitar in it :(

      +Singh's I kinda agree with you. This is a song that shines through it's soulfulness, not guitar solos and licks. Didn't like it.

      @nickb3250 Před 9 lety +12

      +Singh's I don't think soulfulness is depleted by playing a guitar solo, let alone an electric guitar. That's the same type of criticism Bob Dylan first got upon going electric. Nothing wrong with doing things a bit different. I thought this was tasteful.

      +Elcocotero I really agree with you guys, Mayer covers Dylan in the sense that Hendrix would cover Dylan. Im a huge John Mayer fan but cant bear to watch him butcher Dylan songs, personally just dont think this style of blues rock does his songs justice.
