- In a prime-time interview broadcasted on two of France's largest television networks, French President Emmanuel Macron has once again reiterated his general willingness to send troops to Ukraine if the necessity arises. In Odesa, Ukrainian air defense was penetrated. At least 20 people died. Among them was a paramedic and an employee of the State Emergency Service who responded to provide aid after the initial explosion.

We like those statements but don't want French blood to be spilled on our soil. Of course I guess we can let French troops to gain combat experience if they want - but better support Ukraine with "devices"
He wants to send them in support rolls in the rear, freeing up ukrianians to fight (not to say there still wont be a high likelihood of french soldiers being hit in a strike)
There are already many foreign volunteers in Ukraine. Some of them are no longer with us. So the "no blood" ship sailed a long time ago. The rest of Europe needs to be prepared to do everything to support Ukraine. That means boots on the ground.

Let EU and UK nationals fight in Ukraine for Ukraine without designating them terrorists on their return and let Ukraine recruit veterans from the UK and EU. The UA gets troops and in return the EU and UK veterans will learn civil defense for when they return home.

Yes, but remember when it needed the UK to send a tank before anyone sent western tanks and France and UK sent MLRS before America dared..... someone has to do a thing first.... and Macron has crossed one of those lines. Even if they only sent 1 soldier that will be a precedent. A precedent that putin will fear.

Are both Mirages and Gripens needed though? If not, the Gripen should be sent. I am guessing that it would be harder for UA pilots to learn French from scratch, compared to doing training in Sweden in English. So the faster option is Gripens.
