Let's go with an opposite with ground types next. Like with flying types in the older games, they're often seen as mandatory on a team and there's plenty of good options in every region.

Poor Yanmega needs more love. Good SpAt and Speed alongside toxic, shadow ball, psychic and great stabs with Air Slash and bug buzz
@tdog absolutely, and It can boost your stats, i had it for a while
It unfortunately doesn't get a lot of the good moves until later in the game though, causing other bug/flying types to be better overall.

An all Ice type team would be great.
I'd go with Pidgeot, Crobat, Altaria, Talonflame, Corvinknight and Kilowattrel for a flying type team 🪽

I would put in Swanna over Pidgeot personally, for that Rock/Ground coverage.

Swanna's 4x weak to electric
Altaria is 4x weak to ice
And Talonflame is 4x weak to rock
Gliscor is a great mon for all flying team

I just finished a monotype Flying run in FireRed. I used almost the exact same team mentioned in this video, using Dragonite instead of Dodrio. One of the best teams I’ve ever used.
I'm kinda surprised Talonflame or Charizard weren't mentioned for Gen 6 to give you fire coverage, especially considering that you can mega evolve Charizard.

I was happy to see Braviary and Tropius, but I was really sad and disappointed that Noivern didn't make the cut for X/Y
Yeah corviknight is great. It's a steel type and learns power trip and hone claws pretty much immediately as a rookidee.
Yeah I remember using home claws a lot on my rookidee before attacking so I could obliterate anything in my path

Yeah except in most old games you need fly hm to get around and Gyarados and Gliscor are some best flying types that can’t learn fly.

I'm not sure what Honchkrow & Hawlucha replace on the Ultra games team, interesting that Talonflame wasn't on any team, in Johto I'd pick Skarmory over Jumpluff but mainly cause I don't care for Jumpluff

I'm not fan of using Mega Altaria in a mono Flying Team, that's a great Pokemon don't get me wrong but for me it's automatically disqualified by losing its Flying Type when it mega evolves

I have one big problem with all these teams: Gyarados. Sure, it's a great Pokémon, but that's because it doesn't take advantage of its Flying-type STAB. And in a mono-Flying team, is it right to call Gyarados a great Flying-type when it never uses its Flying STAB to begin with?
Also, for HGSS? Honchkrow is right there, too. Or at least Murkrow is.
It's enough of a flying type for Winona to use one on a team, so I say it counts.
It is still a flying type , you cant just say its not a flying type because it has no flying moves
If any type should be exempt from the ground rules, it shouldve been the flying type..lol
