- Mick Jagger on Larry King explains why the drug war must end - to put an end to the violence that occurs in the black market drug trade. Drug prohibition has failed so it is time to legalize and regulate drugs so that all the profit is removed from selling them, thus ending the violence caused by prohibition in the first place.
His voice doesn't sound like an old guy's voice.
Wisdom Wissy He sounds like Mick Jagger
branaa09 funny that
JAGGER IS JAGGER !!!
Mick Is Mick
A man is as old as the woman he feels
His face looks normal, just aging in a normal way. He's chosen not to mess it up with plastics or have it stretched. And not injected with what ever the heck everyone else is doing.
Thank goodness! I hate these celebrities who ruin their good looks thinking they are prolonging their youth, but aren't.
He's always been very handsome...
A lot of hair for his age though
Um,the topic is his opinion about drug's
I know people older than him that look so much better and haven't got any surgery done
The message we've got to make clear to the children is that "legal" is not the same as "good for you".
The childrens of who?
That's "The children of whom?"@@pajodato5339
people are saying his face is fucked up because drugs , I mean yes that's some what why.. but it's called getting old lol
Also, if drugs make you look like this at 70 then I'm going out right now to get me some heroin.
Kourtnee Sherman Which 'people'.."say"...that ? Anyway Jagger never took hard drugs. A bit of cocaine, weed and alcohol in very moderate doses. Jagger wouldn't say that ofcourse, because as the savvy businessman he is , he's still perpetuating The Stones' badboy image ,which worked wonders for them.
It's mostly Richards who was into heavy dope.
+Wojciech Jankowski
Keith was the heroin user, not Mick.
+Kourtnee Sherman
What's fucked up about his face??
He's 70 years old and in incredibly good shape...that means he has very little excess facial fat, which causes a gaunt, hollowed-out look as the skin sags.
It's called aging
amazing after all this he doesnt look a day over 105

I wish people would stop knocking Mick, the more I learn about him, the more I like him.I know this, I was lucky enough to see the stones at a small venue with about 300 people. He looked right at us & genuinely paid attention to our expressions and how much fun we were having. He always moved to the quietest part of the crowd and then moved on only after everyone was excited. I was touched by how much he cared about us as an audience when we were such a small audience. He didn't have to care
Seems a pretty nice affable guy as far as child trafficking pedos go 👍
What a beautiful anecdote. I have just discovered him - unfortunately - and what impresses me is how genuine and balanced he feels. He exudes joie de vivre but not in a superficial way. No platitudes from this man, but not irrelevant rebellion either. The more I watch the interviews which are available and his music, the more he grows in my appreciation.
Saw them in 89, one of the highlights of my life!
Same!!
drugs make people irrational,
especially those who don't take them….
great comment
lol
Alcohol is one of the most harmful drugs we have, yet it is one of the only legal ones. Drug addiction is a health issue not a criminal issue. Imagine if we put alcoholics in prison. They would come out worse than they were before.
Ross Martin I will honestly say I take all kind of drugs ranging from lsd to cocaine, MDMA to pills and I can honestly say it does no harm whatsoever when taken in proportion and when they are of good quality
No alcohol is good. Lots of rich cocksuckers are making lots of money off the alcoholics. Let's just ignore this horrible legal drink and focus on stuff that isn't as bad.
@@shaunvable
You should say the same about coke and the big time drug dealers
Alcohol is for the stubborn, arrogant, Egoful. It is the worst depressive drug. Totally useless.
Being on a Stage is already a strong good feel drug.
Yes I suppose !
legalizing drugs would decrease crime-rate by 95% or more
Hence why drugs are illegal. They aren’t giving up those huge budgets.
Bet it doesn’t, that’s just something people say, sounds good at the time.

Well, ya have to be today. Lacking in many
Mick is very interesting to listen to. Top ten for me easily.
Portugal decriminalized all drugs several years ago, and its drug problems decreased greatly. Prohibition creates crime and is incredibly stupid.
MIck Jagger always gets pulled into the room BECAUSE its Mick Jagger. That way ol' officer Fatty McPuffinstuff can tell their friends a cool story about Mick Jagger. Some people use drugs, some people use people.
Some people use drugs, some people use people that’s a great quote
best thing ive heard in a while. very very true
Only users lose drugs.
Very profound remark.
One of the most fascinating people on the planet.
I 'm hearin ya man!
💯
YES!!
With plastic surgery so rampant it can be jarring to see an aged star who has not submitted to it. And why should he, he's Mick Freakin Jagger!
Thanks for the info. Very Enlightening.
Mick only play acted the dissipated lifestyle of those unfortunates who drowned in it all. He knew & cared more than the others that for the Stones to survive and create an everlasting $$$$ legacy one had to be sharp, attentive, savy and both physically & mentally alert. He's the only reason that band is still performing to sold out audiences.
Indeed....he's a very astute businessman....and an amazing entrepeneur.....who's still acting "Mick Jagger" today....
Without him "Keef"...would've been a petty thief, yet without Richards Jagger would've become a very successful but anonymous businessman...
@@PAULLONDEN mick was in the London school of economics, I'm sure he would've been fine
Mick Jagger the Icon of rock 'n' roll. How I wish for him to have 2 hour conversation with Howard Stern to share the insights of the best feel good music of our life. The Rolling Stones.
what a smart man.

The Stones are a Brilliant Band & give them credit, their still packing out venues, who in this business don't dabble?

And he will inherit it all when they die.
Tomorrow I'm wearing a red dress shirt, tie, suspenders, and blue jeans. A classic look.
He aged very graceful and works out hard to stay in shape .
Sir Mick is the master of answering a question without answering a question.
He's too smart for Larry King..... he was too smart for Ed Sullivan and will continue to be too smart for ANY journalist that tries to corner him into a friendly media sound bite!!!!!!!
Jagger loves being an "enigma" and will always be one.
Long live Lord Mick !!!!
Yes!!
Indeed he is. And so naturally courteous while dodging those attempts. Just manly in all.
What hell this guy used in the hair? look that! is perfect, 70 years and he have a gorgeous hair like this. envy!
He was 65 when this was filmed.
Probably a hairpiece.
It’s called a wig
Hair club for men, same with McCartney

He is a smart man and that shows in every interview.
In 60's England, 18 was old for being at Grammar (Secondary) School< I know as I was there. Mick Jagger has always been quite intelligent - and it shows in his song writing, with Keith Richards
great interview...larry was a king
thank You, Michael, very much!!!!!
Pretty amazing dude that had an incredible life and gave the world some of the absolute best music that (hopefully) we'll always have.
Mick Jagger still the fittest man in rock music.
@Sam Myers No he doesn't
this is the first Larry King interview i've seen where he actually enjoyed it
He's definitely no politician or scientist but he pretty much got it. When you outlaw things that aren't real crimes, you still create real criminals.
Well, you got it too
When Mick mentions the stage not being a place "where you wanna be out of control" I wonder if the shadow of Altamont passed through his mind like it did mine.
@peggy Cherney the song is called torn and frayed
Ain't that the truth! I can't remember the specific questions, but I remember when he interviewed Clapton there were one or two questions that, when he asked them all I could say is "are you SERIOUS?"
I Love that early 70s feel and the music..
''...OF COURSE I HAVE!"
what a quote damn nice 1 mick
Ppl caring about how they look is terrible..... man they are legends their souls are amazing!!! Wish I could get to his age as good as him
I vote Mick for President
He is just in staggering good condition. The man still has the energy of 5 stallions, still giving it all onstage and he is what? In his 70's. That really blows me away!
I am a Stones tragic.. They would not be any where near celebrating 50 years of success if it was not for Mick Jagger. I love all of them & have done so for past 34 years since I was 12. Love them .
"Cause me and Keef want some ganja, man! Well alright"!
Song at the beginning of video?
Mick Jagger. That guy is very Nice!!
Drugs n booze do ruin lifes n familys im a former Herion addict turned alcoholic n done everything n the book, but legalizing would deff stop gang violence n people have the right to live how they want, it's your life not the govt u know my grandma still smoke s n she diein but its her choice and hers alone you know when things r legal u have the choice should I smoke or drink no one is forcing you. Like someone said above it a health issue not a criminal one...
Booze do!, and it's legal, don't you wonder why they sell it and not the rest?. Alcohol, the most dangerous drug!.
It's such a equivocal question and I became addicted to opiates after an injury and being prescribed too much which led to me crossing the line of heroin /addiction and eventually being busted which actually led to me being clean for 7 years now- and honestly I occasionally think about drugs but I'm much more together and happy without them.
...... "probably"... Absolutely class
This is the first interview I have seen that he actually is nice in my opinion
His comments are on point.
Wow, it's all so simple. Personal responsibility. If you commit a crime, then punish according to the crime committed. What caused the crime should be irrelevant. But creating laws that make it a crime to commit a crime against yourself is MAD!
It's actually against the law to commit suicide in the US. That is the best example of legislative insanity. If one is smoking cannabis, what crime has been committed towards the general welfare of society? NONE. Should that cannabis user, neglect his consideration for society and commit a crime that infringes on someone else, then they should be charged accordingly.
Supporting alcohol, and banning drugs is cowardice. Either ban everything that alters ones mental and physical abilities or legalize everything with applicable degrees of regulation.
In the UK there is now a blanket ban on all things that can alter your mental state, barring those on an exempted list (first draft didn't include oxygen!). The same law was passed in Ireland several years earlier and it actually increased the use of so-called 'legal highs'. Theresa May knew this, as did all other MPs present, but they went ahead and did it anyway because it fits their idea of what should work. Truth is, the drugs are now unregulated, not taxed and all profits go to criminal organisations.
TheAndyroid
Good golly you'll miss "Molly".
The UK should see record incarceration shortly. I wasn't sure if the UK had privatized prison, but when you said a ban on everything I immediately thought, "I bet they have private sector prisons". Sure enough they do! There is an alarming correlation of legislation and imprisonment. Keep the prison manufacturers in steady supply of labor. Slavery is alive and well in western "civilization". Enslave as many people as you can and have them work for free producing products for corporations.
We are living in an episode of Black Mirror.
There is a blanket ban on all things that can alter your mental state! I suspect alcohol made the exempt list.
The people of the UK should demand alcohol illegal as well. Ban everything and demonstrate the true nature of censorship.
Force every politician to state that alcohol DOES NOT alter ones mental state. If they say it does, force them to prohibit it. Pick one or the other.
Colorado is becoming the new "New" Amsterdam. The more the world starts clamping down the more traffic and money Colorado is going to make.
Too bad for the UK, gun violence will be on the rise substantially now. Of course the media will blame that on drugs, not legislation. See US for details.
Good luck
He seems like a happy person.
The number one front man of all time!
What’s the song at the beginning?
If anyone things legalization across the board doesn't work, then, look into Portugal and how it has worked since they legalized all drugs.
Good book about the war on drugs = Chasing the Scream
Hey, does anyone know what Rolling Stone song is playing in the beginning of this clip. I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thank you!!
It happened in Portugal. What year did this interview take place?
I’d say this likely took place in ‘08 or ‘09
as Keef has said to me on more than one occasion..and I tell you know MICK' fears no needle!!
Fucking love the Rolling stones, Mick jagger deserves more credit, he wrote some of the best songs of all time.
+irishelk What do you mean by "more credit"?
He's on top of the world anyway!
Andy Mangele Yeah i suppose so.
Haha "Course I have!"
Thanks Mick?
“You were never convicted?” “I think i was” lol downplaying to the max, i’m sure he will never forget that night he spent in jail thinking he would be there for the next month or more
I was just about to comment about the mess of 1967 lol

Drugs don't need to be legalized, clean living just needs to be realized.
Get to your special place, buddy! LMFAO! Mick cracks me up.
mick can do what ever he wants.
i always wanted to hear the history behind ''rip this joint''!
Great Man.
Actually, mick jagger was at LSE for a year before he quit, and alledgedly they tried to convince him to stay at school, but he didn't because the stones were taking off. The fact that he got into LSE in the first place to study economics (harder by the way than getting in to study economics at oxford or cambridge) shows that actually, Mick is pretty switched on. All you have to do is hear him do enough interviews to realise that.
I agree! Legal is the way to go
whats the song at the start ?
whats that song at the beginning?
It worked for Portugal.
hes amazing!!!!
Jagger's so awesome!
And 10 years later in Canada. It’s like buying a bottle of wine.
“How many % Sir ?” Now.You know what you get.
It’s amazing how smart people are when they get old.
Lord, this man is so wholesome, why didn't someone told me before?!
Is this Spinal Tap? ... lol 🤣
Have to say, whether I agree with his opinion or not, Jagger is not just some stupid hippy for thinking this. He's educated. I like that.
Yes,I plan on getting the book.I just get sensitive about Brian,I miss him like we all do.I can't blame anyone else for what happened in Brian's life.
@Helivz the seed once implanted is only dealt with by a substitute.it's possible to put something positive in it's place.can you imagine what jim morrison would look like if he had gotten into yoga and physical training?these people you mentioned had a wild side and i think it showed in their public personna.Jim will always be remembered for his non-catagoric music.like neil young said"it's better to burn out than to rust".just my thoughts.
Mick has been around long enough to know what he's talking about. If you don't like what he has to say, don't listen, the caption tells you what the discussion is about. I love you Nick, you are still the one. Behind every successful man is a pack of haters.
@anibalnikov47 Don't know if you got an answer. The song heard at the beginning is called "Torn and Frayed" and can be found on the 1972 release 'Exile on Main Street.'
Torn and Frayed played on Larry King. A sign of the apocalypse.
Oh, so all of a sudden, Kevin, from the insurance convention, is an expert on the Stones?
Mick looks like he's 90 but he speaks like he's 30
Indeed.
estaria bueno que esté subtitulado.
@nomiclas "You can never unremove a habit." Unfortunately for some: Jim Morrison, Chris Farley, Jimi Hendrix, John Belushi, just to name a few..... The drug habit removed them.
So am I and I think that they're coming to take me away, oh my, they're coming to take me away!
Yeah! Legalize and regulate all drugs and take the distribution of drugs away from the criminals
being on stage "not a place you want to be out of control", even iggy pop seemed to, eventually, learn this ;)
Fucking Legend.
Drug laws need to be rethought in a truly objective way. But, forces of fear, prejudice and simple self serving greed make it a tough battle.
Every time I play Skyrim and go into a tomb, Mick comes after me. Sometimes I wake up the whole band from their slumber and they attack with ancient nordic weapons. I half expect them to wake up and start jamming...
2021 finally legal in many states
Mick Jagger was/is a fantastic lyricist. That gets lost in all the blathering about his hair and his face, drugs, jumping around, women, arrests, fashion, favourite breakfast cereal, etc. If you ever get a chance to get away from all that nonsense, take a moment to consider the words to "As Tears Go By", "19th Nervous Breakdown", "Paint it Black", "Jumping Jack Flash", "Sympathy For the Devil". It's not all "baby baby baby" or "my love is a flower, blah blah blah". Singable, yet thoughtful.
Jagger's making sense here. Fronting the Stones is like operating heavy equipment; you don't want to do it on drugs.
