My brother died of Stents that were put in his legs. He was only fifty six years old. He was also on Plavix, which apparently gave him a false sense of security. He was always active, in excellent shape, but one day a huge clot that had been treated with a stent, broke off and went into his Lung, killing him instantly. I am reminded of this every day as I am recovering from a Bilateral Pulmonary embolism. I am also now on Xaralto, but it's extremely difficult to trust what potential side effects one may have. I was told, it was a Miracle I was alive. I do believe in a much Higher Power, man can only do so much, but God does hear our prayers and for now I am recovering and thankful to be alive.

Thank You! I have a very large DVT ( The whole leg) I have been fighting this for over 4 months now. The meds are not working. They are now testing me for autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, along with genetics. I have a feeling that surgery will be my next option. Not looking forward to this. Thank you for your informative video.

I've been dealing with DVT for 12 years now, I'm 40.
I've had 3 skin ulcers, the last one was fixed with a skin graft.
Wearing compression wraps (Unnaboot), is annoying, but 2-3 months of therapy every 4-5 years. isn't too bad...just wish it never happened.
Mine is Genetic from my Mother's Father.

I've had DVT for about 12 years now, I'm 40.
Could this be the cause of gradually running out of energy while on a walk or riding my bicycle,or just walking around in general?
I've noticed over the last couple/few years that my energy level has decreased. Is this a side-effect of DVT?
I wear compression and have recently been wearing a wrap due to the skin ulcer keeps coming back.
I'd just like to remove the problem, if it doesn't involve the entire leg.

I'm on my way to er now because of what feels like a clot. Lots of pain in the leg when I stand but no swelling. It's in the lower leg and also having a Morton's neuroma in my foot, I'm wondering if that isn't the cause of the pain.

Nice advises! Thank you for sharing. I have DVT in leg and taking blood thinner since 9 months, but there is still swelling and clots in two points of one leg. Please advice weather surgery will be helpful or not? I can not do my job due to this DVT. I want to get rid of DVT!
