can be cleaned sometimes. but mine needed replaced.
I had a bunch of misfires and it tried to not move while I was giving it gas. It only does it when it heats up. I know the throttle body elbow was not clamping on right causing air leak. I also bought a 3rd party MAF sensor. could these be the cause of all my issues?
You're missing something.. a bad MAF can caused the car to stall and die.. few seconds after the engine starts

I have a question I just installed a intake on my 2010 civic it ran perfect with the stock air box but not it’s throwing a code for throttle spring malfunction I can’t seem to find the issue it runs for 5-10 sec then shuts off also my check engine light is on

Same thing happened in my 2013 BMW X1 35i, I’m pretty sure that’s just a common thing
What else would the maf sensor code be? Just replaced the part and still have the same issues. Car shakes at low speeds, inconsistent RPM when stopped, and awful gas mileage, like 6 miles burned through a neighborhood bad.
Had a maf sensor fixed in my 91 firebird after having the same symptoms as this car with a service engine soon light coming on. After getting it fixed i can still feel a slight hesitation when accelerating around 40-50 mph. Sometimes at lower speeds. The Idle seems to be a little jumpy as well. When coming to stops it feels like it might stall (500rpms)Any idea what i should have checked out? No Service engine light is on at the moment. Thank you

Check the fuel trims, short term and long term. Check the O2 sensors, check their voltage to make sure they are reading properly. Finally check for leaks, sometimes even the pcv hose could be old and cracks on it(check for unmetered air entirely). For example, intake gaskets, pcv hoses, brake booster hoses, evap(it would throw a code sometimes), etc.
A cool trick to check for leaks would be using brake parts cleaner or throttle body cleaner. Spray lightly around the intake and watch the engine rpm or even by sound. If you spray somewhere and engine starts to die(lowers rpm) then there is your leak.
Probably the catalytic converters clogged

Ok here’s my question. Will my maf cause my cat sensor to go off every now n then causing my check engine light to come on ?. I replaced all spark plugs, coils, cleaned out some but not all of my fuel injectors, got a new battery because they sold me a faulty one and changed the both crankshaft position sensors. I get a cold start. Sometimes it will take 10 min but once’s it’s starts it pretty much runs all day.

2007 nissan sentra. I disconnected the battery, swapped out both taillight assemblys,cleaned both battery terminals, and reconnected them. Then I dropped my Big Gulp,with 32oz of water on top of battery, everything was soaked,fuse boxes,terminal fuse everything. Then crank/no start. It was running good before I worked on it. I have a 2000 Saturn ls2 it sat for 3 yrs, I had to replace fuel filter it was completely stopped up. Ran great for awhile as long as I kept over half tank of gas. Now it will have random misfires, long starts, and no starts at time. I know its fuel related, where do I start?

Mine mitsubishi airtrek maf sensor problem b4 this. Tried clean with cleaner no luck. My car got to lean and unable to accelerate for overtaking. Last thing i do i just knock my maf sensor and walla it fix the problem now i can drive and accelerate normally

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion. It slightly different than MAF sensor, but same concept. I'm spray cleaning mine . I have no symptoms of any bad MAD, but I have the cleaning solutions so I'm cleaning mine for general maintenance (280k or 165k miles). Plus, I have an old truck. I'm not certain if any such maintenance was done on the new engine so I'm doing it - again just as general maintenance - it can't hurt. Plus, throttle body cleaner.
I do not anticipate future issues, but I'll deal with them if I do.

YES ! I was having this issue for some reason, on my Silverado, also had a bad rough idle it weirdly seemed to have solved my bad shifting, I’m guessing it was running rich and was making my engine surge and I just thought it was the transmission, I cleaned it and a lot of small issues went away !

Stalling right after starting so you can't even drive to the car parts store to have it scanned and analyzed. Got to have it towed in costing a fortune.
