Don't Forget What's Important!

  • We all have busy things and things that are pressing and need to get done. But we need to take time and remember what is important. Our Faith, Family, and Friends. I was hit with that reality this week when I heard that a friend had passed away. We have been so busy and I just feel like I can't catch up on things. But I realized that the things that matter the most are the things I need to focus more on. There will always be another day to finish something and there is always more money to make. But, before you know it your kids will be out of the house and your loved ones will be gone. Make time for the ones you love.

Hello John and Jamie, update on Chloe and Wilbur. We witnessed them breeding on the 12th of May, fingers crossed 🤞 that we will have piglets the first week of September

John, enjoyed your video as always. My sister & I have had a fallen out & when I called her Sunday, June 23, she sounded horrible as she has bronchitis. When she went to doctor on Monday, I was surprised she wasn't admitted to hospital. She has been too busy caring for other's & has not been taking care of her own self. I prayed to God & asked for forgiveness & to watch over, Brenda. Sometimes we allow pettiness to get in our way. Love you & your family.

Thank you! Love your channel! How much do you feed each full grown kune kune per day? Do you have a video on how you ran your water lines?

Great video and sorry to hear about your friend. It's a good point to make the time for family / friends. We started our farm about 8 years ago, and a couple years in, it hit me that my kids might remember me as "always to busy to play" or "always to busy doing farm work", and made it a point to curb that the best I can. Of course there are busy times that are unavoidable (hay season, processor trips, etc), but just being aware and noticing when the farm's getting to much attention, and even taking breaks from those busy times to play a game or have lunch go a long way. Anyways, great message, sorry for your loss, and thanks for sharing.

My bielelfelder roo is so gentle! Im still mixed on how well I like them as a whole though. The hens did well overwinter, the roo got pretty serious frost bite though he has recovered. His hens are not "overused" which is good, but at the same time I'm not sure if any of the eggs are fertilized, I would guess less than half. The hens just walk away when he tries to mate, and he doesn't go after them. Ive got a couple BO's in with them, and he does mate with them... but they are decent layers, and great foragers.

Hey John, I was wondering if you have to worry about your pigs hooves since they spend a lot of time in the wallow during the hotter seasons of the year? Love your channel. I have learned so much from y'all! So sorry to hear about your friend, prayers being sent. Great advice about the importance of taking time with loved ones and friends. Thanks for everything you do and God bless your family and farm!
