- An excerpt of an 1984 episode of "Auf Los Geht's Los". Host Joachim "Blacky" Fuchsberger welcomes Tami Stronach, Barret Oliver, Wolfgang Petersen and Bernd Eichinger. Noah Hathaway is not invited, probably as he was banned from the premiere of the film*. Only parts of the episode relevant to the film "The Neverending Story", German "Die Unendliche Geschichte", are included, the rest of the show is edited out.
* Noah was paid for 3 months, but the shooting took ten months. They sued the producers for the money for the additional 7 months. Bernd Eichinger then told him, that he would not be invited to the premiere if they would not stop the lawsuit. They did not stop, he wasn't invited and got a part of the missing money. That's the story. Too sad. That's why he wasn't in Germany for the film's premiere a second time. But there are also no photos of him at US premieres. I don't know why. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Bernd Eichinger und Wolfgang Petersen haben den deutschen Film auf ein Level gehoben das heute kaum noch welche erreichen. Ruhet in Frieden ihr beiden genies.

Und kein Mensch ausserhalb Deutschlands weiß, dass es ein deutscher Film ist. Ich würde mich noch nichtmal als sonderlich patriotisch betiteln, aber das regt mich richtig auf😂

I think its too sad that Noah wasn‘t included to the premiere.He was just soooooo sweet and i had a big crush on him😂💗Also its mean that i don‘t got his money.
well according to reports, he was a pain in the ass on set and got under the director's nerves so he was banned from the premiere. i'd cut him some slack since he got injured a lot while doing stunts and stuff.

I went to the same school with Tami in Israel, before she had to move to the USA due to her parents work, and that's where she was found for the part in the movie. Good memories!

She was even at my house couple of times. We all knew she was in the movie later on and were very proud of her. Not sure she'll ever remember me today though... lol 💗

a short period in time when thanks to courageous and highly professional filmmakers like eichinger and petersen the german film could have found back its way to world class. alas, it did not last. petersen went to hollywood. eichinger did his best and had some other great successes, but one man alone...

So, Petersen says that Ende didn't see the film, but there is a critic in which Ende says what he thinks about the sphinxes, the ivory tower... So, what he saw was not the film, but the preproduction, right? In any case, I feel Petersen took a very high risk making only the first part of the book. Althought he has had a very commercial point of view, I love Das Boot.
Ende saw the completed film. And hated it.

Pascal Parvex He started his career with Carlo Rambaldi (ET father). During 80's, Animatronic golden era, these people brought to life many fantasy creatures. Nowadays we see an inflation of Digital vfxs! They destroyed the magic of live action shots...
Marco Pozzobon Giuseppe Tortora also did the animatronics for Falkor and Rock biter in the second movie and is still friends with the lady who played Xayide, Clarissa Burt

verstehe jetzt auch die Sache mit Noah . Manche haben Gewerkschaften die sich um solche Dinge kümmern . man schiebt sich da geradezu die Bälle zu . manche wollen oder können nicht bezahlen . andere kümmern sich darum das man von seiner Arbeit auch leben kann . diese Gesellschaftsordnung funktioniert so .
ich bin nach wie vor fan von diesem film aber der beitrag hat seine spuren hinterlassen
die menschen sind stereotypen - es gibt 2 Seiten -das paradies fällt damit schon mal weg . die phantasie bleibt . dieser film ist so etwas wie die grenze zwischen traum / wunsch und der wirklichkeit . tolles konzept - überragender film .

Barret Oliver war echt ein süsser Junge ; )) Schade das ihm das Schicksal ereilt ist wie bei vielen Kinderstars - sie bleiben Kinderstars. Aber ist ja auch nicht so dramatisch denn damals war er ja gut ; ))

Ich bin mir nicht sicher was Böhmi da gesehen haben will. Eichinger selber knutscht die Kinder gar nicht ab, sondern steht abseits. Petersen bekommt von beiden zur Begrüßung je ein Knutscher auf die Wange (nicht auf den Mund). Und Blacky lässt sich wie väterlicher Freund oder Opa ebenso verabschieden von seinen kleinen Gästen.

man kann es übertreiben mit seiner Fürsorge. Schlimmer aus meiner Sicht, ist die Verunglimpfung vergangener Stars durch unzutreffende Äußerungen im Podcast, die ja auch viele Hörer für bare Münze nehmen.

@@RoosterCogburn72 You’re right. I wasn’t sure what these comments were upset about, and when I saw the kisses, I realized it was over nothing. The children kiss Wolfgang on the cheek. Europeans are a lot more openly affectionate and these two American kids were very sweet and adaptable. They had a great working relationship.
So she has a boyfriend back in the States? Wasn't exactly clarified. She's very young, but also very pretty. Can't say I'm totally surprised.
She was only 11 here, and I thought that too. Brilliant actress.

Den Film finde ich recht ok. Vielleicht weil ich das Buch nie las. Was ich von anderen hörte, der Film soll sehr oberflächlich sein, er erzählt nicht die wirkliche Essenz des Romans. Michael Ende kritisierte den Film auch sehr scharf. Dabei wirkte er anfangs bei den Dreharbeiten noch mit. Irgendwann hatte Ende wohl die Schnauze voll. Kann man verstehen! Die weiteren Folgen wären dann sehr...naja, nicht so sehenswert. Schade, wie man einen Roman so kitschig rüberbringt.
Unglaublich peinliches, scheinbar endloses Szenario, allein diese geistlosen Opafragen und das ewige Gefummel...
