- I'm sure it's a fantastic idea to go out and buy an ultrawide or superwide monitor and play games on it with such immersiveness. However, it's not that straightforward and requires a lot more effort to get it working correctly.

Once you go ultrawide, you'll never look back. =)
Amen 🙏 🥳🏆
still find it a bit too much for me when it comes to gaming but also can't deny that it works great as a monitor for work.
This is exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you for the help!!
I personally been happily using my 3440x1440p Ultrawide now for 2 years and absolutely loving it. I prefer adventure driven, open world titles and some FPS gaming as well. If you can use the ultrawide or Super ultrawide ratio then why not? Just use 32:9 for one of the many single player & numerous fps multiplayer titles and 16:9 when you can’t benefit from the wider screen format. The one disadvantage I’ve personally seen is the lack of high refresh monitors above 120/144hz, but those refresh rates are still impressive with an appropriately powered GPU to drive it.
Same here! I've been happy with a 3440x1440 monitor at 144Hz so far and I'm loving it after 2 years as well.
I generally think these wider than 16:9 monitors to be a rarity in the market though. Many people do not know the existence of these monitors.
Exactly what I was looking for thank you brother :)
this was very helpful. great content friend
i watched the video till finish, and just realized this channel didn't have 100k or more subs. very good content!
Thanks for watching and thanks again for your kind words! Maybe one day we'll reach that mark ✌️🙏
Hi Sr. ! I mainly call of duty: warzone and dota 2, you recomend a ultra wide for thoose games? im thinking to buy de samsung odyssey G8 (34")
Your video is extremely helpful thank you for helping me make my decision 😁
Glad I could help!
Very informative video.
I have a question and no one answering me I was wondering what ratio and fov should I use for my monitor I have an Samsung oled 49 inch and I play r6 helpppppp
Thanks for covering those valuable informations
Is it fast enough for comparative gaming ?
It is. The monitor's panel is good enough for all sorts of games - but whether or not the game works with that resolution is a different story.
You covered a whole bunch of things I was worried about flawless wide-screen is gonna be my go to...
It doesn't actually fix all games, unfortunately. Some games require a lot more modding - which I find it to be annoying. Just let me play my games at the native aspect ratio and resolution 😔
@@TechCritter i got a samsung odyssey g9 neo if you have any advice for me please let me know because I just built my pc 2 dYs ago and I haven't owned a computer since 1999 so advice would be much appreciated.
Ninja Gaiden 3 how to make it ultrawide, ive search many method but doesn't work
advantges: if you play competitive game, u can see a LOT of things which is make the enemy player harder to hide from your FOV, and also great for work / productivity stuff
disadvantages: gaming performamce reduction
i play racing games like nfs heat where the FPS are stable in 140, now goes down to 90 FPS
but here's the performance reduction you'll likely to get
ultrawide you'll have around 20% of performance reduction, on superwide that could be 40 to 50%.
so before you bought ultrawide / superwide monitor for gaming, make sure your GPU are strong enough to push it.
and plus if you have curved like mine, you'll likely getting some funny side effect on your eye sight.
what's your specs cause that 50 fps decrease on a racing gaming sounds absurd
@@N0Motion Ryzen 5 5600x + RX 6700XT with 16 gb of RAM
ultrawide on competitive game isn't just make you unfair, but it makes you nausea
What about RTS gaming? Would I be making a big mistake choosing say the Alienware 3423DWF instead of say the Asus PG27AQDM?
Could be. IT ultimately depends on how well the game scales to screens wider than the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.
Also, I highly advise going against OLED screens since burn-in is inevitable. Maybe get a mini LED monitor instead?
Well right now I have the pg27aqdm with the amazon asurion warranty. This warranty is good for four years and covers burn in. I have an email from an asurion rep confirming that burn in is covered under the warranty as well. I sort of wish I got the Alienware oled instead now. I guess my question is how much does the black bars effect gameplay in games that aren’t ultra wide compatible. Would it be pretty much comparable to a 27 inch at that point? I adore mini led technology as I love brightness and vibrant color pop. There just aren’t that many good mini led options available right now from the bigger brands. I Remember samsung having a non widescreen mini led option but if I Remeber correctly it was too big for my liking.
Ah, okay. Those black bars aren't actually an issue, just that we're not getting the full use for whatever we paid for and I think that to be annoying.
However, doing a bit of math does reveal that a 34-inch ultrawide is indeed shorter in height compared to a 27-inch 16:9 monitor.
@@TechCritter agreed it is. But I would be able to swing the AW monitor for a few hundred less than the PG27AQDM. So if i can use the the ultra wide feature on 50% of the games that would still have some merit. I wouldn’t need an extended warranty either since aw has the three year warranty with burn in already in place. Yeah I’m aware of the height difference. Hard to visualize the practical implications of that unless you are playing your specific game with your specific ultrawide monitor in both ultrawide and black bar mode to see how it compares to a 27 inch. Pros and cons to both I guess like you said.
Yea, pretty much pros and cons, just determine which one suits you best. For me, I've gone full ultrawide and never looked back.
Remember that not allot of games don't support 3400 x 1440p (21:9) monitors (curved) at the moment so be careful, sometimes the ratio won't show up lol so you have to chose another size
Most games are moddable to support 21:9
Like truthfully 5-8% of them. I've loaded Skyrim and it supported 3640x1600 off the bat except the UI as that was stuck at 16:9
I use 5120x1440 49inch ultra wide. Not good for gaming. But super comfortable for workstation
Which is why I went for 5120x2160 😝
I feel like 'superwide' for me would be disadvantage since i dont move my neck alot XD
also i cant afford it anyway Lol
You don’t move your neck. You use the peripheral vision of your eyes to notice movements, and flick your mouse accordingly.
"and we are paying $70 for this game?? mmmmm" lol
Seriously though, that game is a technical horror
