I think this is an excellent feature for tech reviewers who wants to compare 2 different systems side-by-side, either with stress test comparisons or latency comparison.
geomotry dash
It's cheaper to buy 2 similar screens than to get this one
@@RedGoldDolfin-ez9iy i think the point he is trying to make is its all one seemless experience if you get to of the same monitor you have those pesky borders around the sides and it wont be seemless
@@HunterXTwitch Yes
But it is very expensive
@@HunterXTwitch What about it makes is more seamless than having two monitors? The only difference is you need one less power chord.
The only benefit of this feature is due to the huge physical size of this monitor, making fitting another monitor next to it a bit more difficult. Aside from that unlikely scenario, there is no other benefit.
Skip the BS, tell me how Geometry Dash runs on this.
I want to know too
I've seen it IRL before. You can see most of the level with it.
Geometry dash on that monitor would be insane 💀
BROOO FRRRRR
Nah ud see the whole ass level
This dual input on the same screen feature is 100% mandatory: I have currently a dual screen setup with the second screen also mirrored to a projector. I don't want the projector to have a 32:9 ratio, but I would like to have the 32:9 ratio to replace my dual screens. With running 2 inputs in the monitor at 16:9, I get the best of both worlds, able to do dual screen efficiently, and play games at 32:9 with that full immersive experience. Totally worth it.
I can see this being really useful for some hyperspecific scenarios like software developers that wanna run an app on multiple pieces of physical hardware or maybe even in data centers that have multiple separate server systems, but i also think its kinda overkill for those scenarios so i'm not sure who this monitor is meant to be for. Still a handy feature for those who need it.
Samsung did it because they can, simple as that
I used to write codes on one side and then watch it hot-reload on the other side, as well as outputting plot graphs to the middle, but eventually I found it too distracting, and I pretty much prefer using zen mode in emacs whenever I need maximum focus ↖(^ω^)↗
Software dev here. I am literally typing this on a Samsung G9 Neo using split screen. Macbook on the left and Windows on the right. Same keyboard/mouse using InputLeap (shares mouse/keyboard, like if you were on the same computer with no lag). For this application, its godmode.
PS: if you are a gamer, dont get a monitor this wide. It sucks for all the games I tried it on. Even something like DCS or MSFS sux because the field of view gets stretched towards the sides, so you dont actually get to view more area, just more pixels stretched over a bigger area, which is even less useful. Even something like world of warcraft that can render on the full thing, the UI will not be at the correct place and you have to customize it a lot, and end up with empty areas towards the sides.
Bro wtf is this monitor
We developers use displays like this one with window management software and spread all of our IDE-toolwindows over the entirety of this screen real estate. We dont use multiple machines. Ever. Everything is virtualized and/or remote - but we **do** use a lot of different windows.
i started playing Fortnite because of this monitor and now i can't stop AHH

MrYeester, your CZcams videos have been incredibly engaging and addictive for me. Usually, I tend to stop watching videos halfway through, but your content is so captivating that I couldn't help but stick till the end. I probably wouldn't use it as 2 separate PCs, but as 2 different monitors for the same PC. i use a dual monitor set up when I can because it allows me to easily stack 4 windows side by side, so having an ultrawide that pretends to be 2 monitors would actually fit my workflow.
Exact same here
this was my thought process as well
I use a macbook and windows (2 windows on mac and 2 windows on win, side by side), but if I am just using windows, I use the windows power toys "fancy zones" to have the same computer do exactly what you describe (4 full height windows side by side). It works exactly like the normal auto-positioning keybinds of windows, you dont have to fiddle with window sizes manually.
I never actually need 4 full size windows, so, the 4th window usually is split in half, to have Slack and Teams (what my company uses) on top of each other on the 4th window
I did this with my 49” one back in 2018 and it was perfect, would recommend

Really good informative video, that dual screen feature is definitely must have!
A friend and I love to play Lego games in split screen. This monitor would an absolute game changer! Currently, I use NVIDIA Surround with two different monitors (both 4K, 16:9) but it's quite annoying to get the setup right and the quality isn't that great. Nice video!
Aint no creepers creeping up on me

It's great for software editing because you can either have your application open on one side, or (I prefer) putting multiple files in the editor next to each other. You can easily do 3 or 4 files there. Very convenient if you work with many different files.
The Picture in picture would be really useful for streaming if you are using a dedicated streaming system and an dedicated gaming system. Also having the picture by picture would be great if you do use two computers on a regular basis like I do, and if you are using a program like Synergy you only need one keyboard and mouse as well.
or just two displayports
great style of review, maybe some more tech data like panel its perfect gg bro :)
This monitor would require a LARGE desk for two setups and a huge amount of money to build the two PCs that will run at 4K.
This feature is awesome but it's ridiculously expensive so yes but no.
If this screen fits on your desk, you will have the space for a 2nd device, so I don't think thats a reasonable counter argument.
The usecase for this is more for people that use multiple devices at once and those devices are certainly not 2 gaming PCs.
E.g. streamers that have a dedicated streaming PC, developers that want to test something easily, maybe you got a dedicated server and want to Check something on it.
For just gamers this feature is useless though.
@@Rocky712_ viable points
@@Rocky712_ What kind of logic is that? Extra deskspace doesn't appear out of thin out of to accomodate a second tower and a second M+KB setup because you ran out of space after installing this monitor...
99.9% of people do not buy desks large enough to accomodate two towers and 2 M+KB.
There are no reasonable use cases for this monitor. Professionals have multiple monitors that are for more expensive and specialized, not one giant monitor connected to multiple devices.
@@calvin659 @calvin659 If you buy 2 separate monitors, you will loose as much desk space as with this one. Your point simply doesn't make sense.
This monitor is also not for 99.9% of people. The fact you simply say "Professionals" shows how undifferentiated your comment is. There are so many different use cases for professionals and your's with multiple special monitors really only applies to professional Video and Foto editors that need specific colour ranges.
I'd never buy this, I rather go with 2 screens and accept the fact that there are bezels around the monitor and they will never be perfectly aligned.
But if you have the extra spare money, this monitor is better than 2 separate monitors.
And I literally mentioned what kind of people benefit from such a monitor. It's a 240hz monitor after all, you only need that for people that will play Games on it and have a top high end rig that can even hit those frames, but for Gamers alone this is to expensive. It really is best suited for gaming streamers and devs (who play a lot of games themselves usually).
@@calvin659 That's not quite correct. You can connect the same PC twice to this monitor to act as two monitors. Also, even if it were true that 99.9% of people do not have large desks, the 0.1% do. My desk is big enough to not only fit this montor but also 2 more side monitors. This montor actually costs very little compared to other hobbies such as camera and audiophile equipment. This monitor is barely the price of a single lens for photography.
I think you are not the target audience. This monitor is completely sold out in the UK already, which is proof of how many people want it.
This feature would be awesome for streamers with dual pc setups.
The good thing about the PBP mode is that you don’t have to have it active all the time & can easily switch using the monitor OSD if you want to use the whole display as a single screen without messing about with a KVM or plugging/unplugging cables/switching inputs
wow.....OMG.....the video editing on that looks like it would be amazing man!!
I think this feature would be great for plugging both halves of the monitor into the same pc and using one half as a "main monitor" and the other as a "2nd monitor" for people who want a dual display setup without any bezel whatsoever
First video I've seen from you. This was informative, entertaining and fun to watch. You didn't sacrifice the specs for comedy, you integrated them well, its appreciated
Ignoring the resolution that's a pretty common feature for those monitors and in my opinion absolutely necessary, without it there is no way to use other applications while one is in fullscreen, you'd always have to use windowed mode for everything...
That's the exact reason why I switched away from my 48" LG C1 as a monitor, because virtual zones just don't cut it for me, I loved everything else about it :(
This is for real very cool and the best way to run a duel PC setup. I need this so bad vs me now having 2 desk with 2 PC's
Yes!!! I have one and use it as an extended monitor :) and it's super useful for work applications ❤
My preference for coding productivity is two 27" 4k monitors side by side, one straight ahead, one to the right . The OS isn't really good at managing multiple window snapping on a single wide monitor. But with the two separate inputs, this would be solved. Not to mention, it would have no gap between the monitors!
Try the Windows key plus the arrow keys. It makes snapping much easier and quicker. If even works with multimonitor. You can also use Win+Shift+[Arrow key] to quickly move windows between your screens.
And since you're a developer, getting to the Task Manager and running as admin quickly could be useful. That is Ctrl+Shift+Esc and Ctrl+Shift -> [Launch program] respectively.
Samsung has software for these monitors for window snapping called easy setting box where you can split the window in 2-6 windows in different setups and the grids are adjustable...
PBP (picture-by-picture) is a rare feature, but not unique at all. My 34" Dell ultrawide has it too.
Yes, but it does not provide this level of experience at all. This monitor allows you to have the equivalent of two 32'' 4k screens which is insane. The seamless experience while using PBP on such as behemoth is what makes it unique not the PBP feature itself. One 32'' screen is already big but two, side by side that's crazy .
That’s possible. But factually incorrect to call PiP unique. Dell 49” ultrawide has PiP too, even my 24” dell from 2005 had PiP.
Uncommon isn’t the same as unique. The screensize and resolution is in fact unique.. the PiP not so much.
@@batterivatten Maybe it's not uncommon in Dell monitors.
I have an older version of this monitor and it's amazing for productivity. I bought it broken off ebay and fixed it. I use the picture by picture occasionally to run 2 PCs or a PC and a game console. I'm fixing a family member's desktop and I can let it update, run scans, restore lost data, and install stuff in 1/3 of the screen while I have the other 2/3 for my PC. Of course it is amazing for gaming and is extremely immersive. I also put it on the side once and rotated the image to have an extra tall screen to see what that was like. In games your character fills most of the screen
same i have the 240hz 2K version and love it! very interested in the 4k version
This kind of form factor with this feature is a great replacement for dual monitor setups. This allows having 2x1/2/3/4 windows open without the window management screwing up. And colors are the same everywhere. Great for streamers and any kind of development.
And for the rare app where I need the full width I can have it.
with a adaptor (playstatoin, xbox, nintendo ,etc, etc) you could have a console or a device and a pc/another device on the "two screens" for easy benchmarking, and since its the same monintor you can check what resultion/fps it gets or its capped to. (the adaptor is for 4k 120hz via hdmi 2.1 to dp 1.4)
PBP could be good if you wanted to use a seperate streaming pc or to multitask without using many resources. The price is high, but people also spend 3k+ on Televisions soooo yeah
I'm surprised that the FOV advantage wasn't really mentioned, but great video! Seems handy :)
wait till the 360 samsung odyssey monitor comes out💀
More than 5 years ago I ordered a 21:9 LG monitor that had this split screen feature, you could plug two pc and it would display them side by side. Sure a 21:9 screen would only permit to display two 4:3 but for me it was quite interesting back in the days.
Yeah, I have an LG monitor released in 2014 that does this.
This has been a standard feature for mid-tier monitors for like a decade now. This guy has no idea what he's talking about.
i use such ultra wide daily for coding and it's amazing, what you did is just opened 1 file, realistically you have multiple files which can go side-by-side, then terminal or multiple terminal windows, then app you building running for preview, then browser tabs to search for things or keep documentation open and all at the same time together w/o switching through pile of apps. it's amazing experience and would highly recommend anyone to get one, just samsung's are expensive. I use LG, it has 60hz instead 240hz though but i don't care :)
Great Video - as a suggestion, I like Microsoft's PowerToys over Easy Settings Box to more quickly align programs/windows
Genious for dorm rooms, or locations where multiple gamers gather.. Back home well U had to "find" a friend. But still not crazy , teamwork enhancing and social ! Thanks for showing this
It’s genius. I could rock Homeoffice on one side and game on the other. I love it 🥰
The possibility of spit screen halo from two different PCs makes me drool
4 way splitscreen x2 would be WACK
You know, you could just put two monitors side by side...
Don't see why you need two PCs smush into one big monitor for that, and in a half-curved configuration?! The player on the right would have a better image looking at the left side and vice versa
Now that is NOT what I expected on here... WOW that is so cool especially for VR too with 2 PC's and 2 Headsets!

Minecraft !!!!!!!!!❤
Something to keep in mind is with things such as, code editing. With code editing (example VS) you wouldn't be able to use the full width like you said, ALTHOUGH you still would... I've seen no serious project, or unserious for that matter, that uses a single coding file. So the screen would in that scenario be utilized by being able to keep a lot of tabs open simultaneously. Being coding the tabs talk to eachother which allows the coder to keep track of all the "code movement", or "code flow" if you will, across the tabs which can be beneficial.
I can see PBP being useful for those setups which use a separate PC for streaming, and one for the game itself. Or for those who have a niche reason to use multiple PCs, and that program to allow you to share your Keyboard/mouse between multiple PCs.
Hypothetically, I could combine my Security PC and my Gaming PC for example to one monitor, one mouse/keyboard (using Synergy), and this would allow easiest access while keeping my security PC separate from the connections that come in on gaming servers (especially including those p2p connections).
Am I first?
Idk but i like chicken

This seems useful for some form of All In One Big Streamer setup. One large monitor for video editing for vods/clips, then split in two so the streamer can play on one side, and have a "streaming" pc with OBS or whatever other tool they use on the other end, in a easy setup.
I have the G7 (the older 1440p mode), and I used it with two machines all the time. It's a really useful feature, and is useful in all the same situations as having dual monitors is.
I think its awesome. I ordered this bc I have 2 34 inch ultra wides and I use 1 monitor connected to my work machine and the other for my pc. I usually have both go on at the same time. so now. I can still use both and not have the middle bezel and less wires
7:49 when you have VS code open - I don't know how you develop, but I use multiple panes, which usually include an inspector and debugger as well as two command line interfaces. This would be super sweet for that, but definitely learn your keyboard shortcuts because going allllll the way to the left for everything can get old. I run with a 21:9 for that very reason, and sometimes, it still isn't quite wide enough for me to work without interrupting my flow to change windows or resize panes.
No joke the video editing is impressive I'm talking about me watching about a minute into the video 👌
It can be very useful for working with 2 computers. I do that once in a couple months working on two different branches of the same project... Logitech MX mice has a feature to switch from one desktop to other seamlessly. I think keyboards do that with a shortcut too. I'd be tempted if i was constantly using two computers at once.
ya know, I have the OLED variant, switching from the original 49 1000r curv. Odyssey G9. This really wouldn't be possible, and I was about to call you out on it until you said you have the 57" variant. I've always wondered why I stopped gaming. The days of hanging with a buddy and teaming up, definitely a plus. You have a good point as well as far as each screens resolution is. Despite it not being a flat, same sized side by side Flat "Might be less distracting" set up, this is a signature product simply because of the specs mixed with a feature I so long for. Yes, I can split screen at 120HZ on prior models I mentioned above, but It would be more easy to load up the other screen on my top screen "55 LG." Hence, having 1 person sadly blocking the view of their screen themselves. - Monitor peaking when playing with a buddy isn't really possible. Love this use case scenario.
First time I saw one of these was wild. Just 1080p at the time, crazy to see we’ve already got it for 4k/120
for IDES on a SUW you typically have more then file visible at a time ie .env, the terminal, header and source files , so it depends on the person but SUW's can be very useful
i could totally see a use for this when im streaming as i have a dual pc streaming setup. could do it with only one monitor if you had this! though buying 2 normal half decent monitors is probably 1/10th of the price of this, its still pretty neat!
I love this monitor. I personly use this with my ps5 and as my pc second screen in PBP, Makes talking/playing with friends and still having a seconed screen for my pc a breeze with out switching sources constantly 😁
Dude.. the super wide productivity hack is not going full screen, but working with 4 documents side by side. As a paper pusher I already use 2x 16:9 screens showing for example a couple of source documents, the document I'm creating and a browser research window all at once. A super wide looks like an absolute productivity dream. Even when the browser leads you astray you have those other windows right there reminding you what you were doing. And if the screen supports splitting one feed into two screens, something I know my friend's one does, you can use windows key + arrows to quickly align windows to screen corners. Works like a charm with 2x 16:9.
It's called picture-by-picture and it's been on TVs and monitors for over a decade. Some 8K TVs can do 4x4K120 inputs simultaneously.
Although you can use 2 PCs at the same time, which can be great for people running 2 operating systems, and you can even use the same mouse and keyboard on both systems using software as if it were a single hybrid system or use a KVM, it is more likely to be used as a secondary screen.
LG49 can use 2 computers too, actually you can run windows and iOS at the same time or connect both computers and swap as needed
I'd love this! One screen PC focused on resource intensive work (video editing, code compiling, publishing training content) while the other screen PC is free to task (or game 😉) at full performance 😁
PIP/PBP is a great feature and i love my neo g9 for it (i got the 2k version)
the only issue i had with it was that its limited to 120hz instead of the full 240hz
but its great for stuff like watching vids or streams while playing on my switch
sure 2 monitors will give the same effect but having 1 big widscreen gives me the advantage of when im playing games i can get the full 32:9 aspect ratio in most things for example playing Rust, No Mans Sky or even Minecraft having the additional FOV makes the games feel really immersive

It's a great feature and I use it all the time. I work from home and it's nice to be able to use my personal PC on one half of the display and my work PC on the other half for when I'm doing things like benchmarking/overclocking on my home PC
I just have Nucleus co-op and multiple monitors and tvs, ive played deep rock galactic with my girl and her family with 4 split screens on 2 different monitors but the same pc. Its awesome what the community provides, its just unfortunate that nowadays games are straying away from split screen features.
You can setup PBP on one pc and split the monitor into 2 just use 2 inputs or set the 2nd input to any other device like a ps5 or xbox.
as a daily driver i use mine for streaming switch games over discord. only use i found for the split screen since it locks to 60hz when using it. other then that gaming in mega ultra wide is realy enjoyable. almost unbeliveble how many games allow u to play like this.
It a realy nice Poduct!
But the price is way to high, so i would keep in mind for future, when the prices for this drops on an "okay" level...
I had a old 32" CRT monitor that would split and had 2 hookups to it. You could press a button and switch from one PC to the other or it would also split screen horizontal and vertical. This was back in 1999 and it was like $1500 back then.
Love the shirt bro,and up the All Blacks 🇳🇿
The functionality is legit useful. I have my personal laptop and my work laptop going all day long and having to switch between them is a real pain. Obviously the specs are over the top for this scenario, but PBP for me will be one of the primary reasons I purchase it. 'Is epic' is the other primary reason.
You can also plug a pc and a console. This monitor is also amazing for streaming. You can plug your gaming pc on the left and your streaming pc on the right and with a program you can browse seamlessly through both pc with a single kbm. It's absolutly fantastic
seems dope. you can have a dual screen in one screen, 2 cables less required in your setup
That's an awesome feature!! Imagine using this with two game console (ie: PS5/Xbox).
What is with the game like geometry dash? do you see stuff earlier and have more reaction time or is it just streched?
or some other platformer games
That was so wild and amazing :D
Except it's expensive for real
Can you use two macbook pros at the same time / split screen on this monitor?
Can this be used for two gaming systems. Like, 2 series X/PS5s, or a mix of the two?
that feature already existed, and i think that it's more useful to put a console on one side and your pc to another side so you could maybe watch a walkthrough if you are stuck at a point or you could just keep an eye of a long download while playing
In my opinion this is a really good idea, not only for things like this, but because I would use the monitor with both inputs to the same computer, I often find that having two identical monitors is more rewarding productively than having a large gaming monitor. Plus the fact that with a single switch in the menu I can play games at 32:9 super resolution with 240hz (given that anyone's graphics card can even HIT 2x4k at 240hz)
team screen peaking has been common in "slower paced" esports like dota, and battleroyales or games with generally slow times to kill. its very very common for teams to play online games in a pseudo lan setup in a house or office to replicate this exact effect that used to be only really possible at LAN events.
What's the cheapest ultrawide with this feature? I could use one for my homelab.
I hope they fixed the issues the earlier models had, I had the original G9 which was 5120x1440 and after about a month a faint green line appeared in the center, after another month it became 2 then 3 then kept growing and the lines became thick black lines... took me a month of back and forth with customer support to get them to do something, they sent someone to repair it and they couldn't take it due to the size (how tf did they not tell the courier what they were picking up???) so I finally had enough and just got them to refund me and take it back.
Turned out it was quite a common failure aswell, seems like the way the panel was bonded to its control boards was not mechanically robust so it's own weight was enough to break it loose, (you could bring the lines back to life by squeezing it at the bottom near the lines), pretty poor issue to be coming across from a top tier brand.
I have an Asus XG49VQ that has this feature. It’s not as powerful at 1080/60hz but it’s a neat little trick for when I want to easily have my PC accessible when I’m playing console or something.
I like the picture by picture feature, especially if you work with one computer for video streaming like twitch and having a dedicated computer for that purpose only with the other for gaming
Well I personally do not stream. I do work off the other side with my laptop which I may use from time to time to play CZcams for strategy guides or something along those lines
I have wanted a g9 since i first saw the original model years back and bought the neo g9 a few years back when it came out and the only thing that upset me was i initially had a 1070gtx card in my rig and could only have 120hz not the 240hz.
Looks sick dude
Lol I often think the G9 is kinda way to much but I have the OG and a Neo. Being able to split the screen between two computers is pretty useful. Work on cad files with my laptop or use the m&kb for hand helds. Also single player on some games you can crank that fov up since its so wide that you kinda get an advantage lol. Felt like I could see half the ARAM map in LoL when I first got it. Realistically these things are too big to use for a single window any way. I mostly got them for a sim where I use eye tracking so size isnt so much of an issue.
so i can keep my 2 screen setup on my pc without the border and color difference? and with the hit of a button i can switch it to just 1 ultrawide? but screen's too expensive
Most important feature if using multiple PCs on a single screen (PBP/PIP) is an intelligent KVM, so you just hover the mouse into position and thge appropriate Source is connected with the Keyboard/Mouse
Not the first time I've seen one screen show more than one computer at a time, but it is the first time I've seen it at this quality
OMG split screen is awesome! Yeah it is, shame it’s not implemented in many games and your only option is this monitor and 2 systems if you want that. Btw, Fortnite can be played in local multiplayer mode / split-screen on a single system.
I can see a use for dual PC streaming, where you can still have all of the streaming PC stuff on the same monitor your gaming PC is set up on.
PbP and PiP is not an exclusive feature for this monitor. I got a Ultrawide 34" monitor for my gaming PC 11 months ago for 500$ (one of the cheapest decent UW gaming monitors) and it also has these features. Granted it is not an ultra, ultra wide like this one, so when i split the screen I don't get two wide 4K screens, but for work it is very useful - like having two 4:3 monitors connected to the same PC, and without the bezel between the screens, it takes less space than two monitors.
So, I just want to state that this technically isn't the first monitor that does this feature, the splitting of an Ultra Wide monitor one, that is. This has been a feature for the entire Samsung Ultra Wide Monitor line, starting with the CHG90, which is the first iteration of this type of monitor. I know this because I have a CHG90 and exclusively use this feature, as I love having the two monitor setup without the bezel. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to the Neo G9 because it's bigger and has a better resolution and refresh rate while in PBP mode.
I got rid of my CRG9 for two 32 inch 4k monitors. The reason was too many programs and games just didn't play nice with the format and I wasn't able to make it two separate screens. What they are doing here is a big deal.
The two screen and window snapping features are great but honestly why not just get a curved screen TV for more vertical space as well?
