In this documentary we are going on a journey to much simpler times, we will give you a glimpse inside a traditional 19th-century farm house in the countryside of Spain. The house is located in the North of the country on a remote and secluded piece of land completely surrounded by endless wine fields. The owners built this house themselves at the beginning of the 1800s and lived here together with the entire family, they used to work on the wine fields that belonged to the noble Spanish counts, and all year round they would produce grapes for a nearly livable wage. Since the 2000s nobody has lived in the house anymore, but there are clear signs that somebody still came there until a few years ago. Nowadays the house lies abandoned and forgotten and it acts as a portal that is going to take us back to a former time period…

The “grape fields” are called vineyards (pronounced Vin-yards) in the US. The white on the inside of the house is probably lime. It’s called white wash. It seals out oxygen so the wood in the house wouldn’t rot.

The simple design and raw materials of the farmhouse are so good! i like it very much. Much better than all the crap we have these days. I also like that you see the positive and beauty in everything people owned and lived with. You look very good in the old fashion. Thanks again for the lovely docu.

Heyy dear Lesley, Wonderful start/ intro of your video there in the mountains with the breathtaking landscape views! So beautiful!
I simply love your enthusiasm, when you are travelling through the most beautiful regions in this world and all the time finding amazing
locations to explore. - Sunday evening couldn't get any better with a new video from my favourite explorers Bros of Decay!
Again so nice seeing you in a traditional attire! - The abandoned house is remarkably well preserved, although it might be already
abandoned for quite a long time. It really is looking like a time capsule with the furniture and the clothes being left in the house.
I can only repeat myself saying once more, that you provide some kind of new life to such an abandoned location just simply with
your beautifully formulated narration and your very unique way of vividly imagining, how the life there might have been back in the days.
I was also once more deeply touched by your incredibly respectful, tender and very gentle approach to the personal items
    of the former owners.
A real surprise was of course this collection of antique historical carriages, and I naturally loved seeing you in your historical nobleman
attire taking a seat in one of these vehicles, and you really perfectly matching inside there! - Absolutely great!
Dear Lesley, that was once more a super explore video! I loved every second of it!
Also your choice of music was excellent, and you had a wonderful cameraman with very good filming skills at your side.
I am already looking very much forward to your next Urbex adventure. - Stay safe, my friend, blessings and many hugs.
Peace and kindest regards from now again sunny Switzerland.

Wow! the view of the mountains is stunning, still have the snow on top of it ,a beautiful opening music, also olden day outfit you are wearing is very interesting indeed, the historical house itself are simple build but it’s unique and very interesting, look solid and strong, a house like this would last forever, the only problem would be no running water and plumbing inside the house, also no electricity, it’s would be isolated place indeed , the carriage ridge is stunning to see , it’s must be so expensive to own one of those carriage ridge in the older days. Thank you for sharing love the VDO.

That’s so cool that people there can just park wherever they want on that long scenic road there. I have an issue here in the U.S. that a lot of very scenic roads like this have nowhere to pull off and very high speed limits so it makes it dangerous to pull over. I like to take pictures so this is kind of a bummer

Hi Leslie, as recently as 2013 we were perrigrinos on the The Way of Saint James, Santiago de Comostella and we trekked through north western Spain rural and farming areas and passed through many vineyards along the way and saw original tools still being used and wooden barrows etc and big baskets because they were still using traditional methods. Fascinated as you are too, the whole country is mountainous and rock and much respect for this amazing video and for the insight about how little modern conveniences they had - testimant of how hard working they were too. Looking down at the vineyards is beautiful and so much labour intensive work was done. Vines in some parts of Spain did not get pruned often and everything was handpicked and carried back to a wagon. Truly back breaking work. Have had red wine from grapes that were grown in rocky ground in Spain and one of the finest yet. Thank you for taking us with you and truly enjoyed this epic video too, God Bless

The screen cupboard in the kitchen is a pie cupboard where baked goods cool and are stored to keep bugs and flies off. The bed is a three quarter bed and yes for two people.. Came before double beds when rooms were smaller.

Love the carriages and the old house life was so hard for the people who lived in these places but probably very happy people because life was so simple without the strains of all the technology we have today that effects so many peoples mental health there is nothing better for your health than to live right in the middle of nature surrounded by beautiful land for miles and miles of beautiful landscapes like them beautiful mountains great filming guys i loved this video.

Hi Lesley, while you see grape vines in the fields, we have here corn & soy beans in other people`s fields in Central, Illinois USA. As for workers in the fields, most are Mexican`s get a lot less pay then Americans. The 2 upholstery chairs were unique! The house was small but still ok to live in since it`s made of stone! The carriages were so cool looking, could still be cleaned up & used! Your 2 outfits of clothes, that you wear in character of what they would wear when not in the field...is especially nice, Lesley! Again about the carriages the black one you are talking about they are still in existence today-2022 in Arcola & Arthur southern, Illinois, Probably in other states where the Amish people live. They have their own city to themselves, the older ways, that still exist is a house with No electricity, No phones & you get up when sunrise & sleep at sunset. The women all wear bonnets & hide their hair, all women wear the same color dress.. which has improved since many years ago to maybe blue, green, purple. Was only black way back when. All men where straw hats, but wear black hats to church & have beards, but shave mustache, but young single men no beards. They have maybe 3 Elders, but 1 Elder makes the Rules! Yes my husband & me we drove to southern, Illinois to see these people & women have shops with baked goods, quilts & men make all wood furniture! Yes a family or just 2 will be in carriages with a horse, No Pictures are Allowed Taking of Them! But can see them on the Internet & their life story! Yes you are correct, Lesley a light goes on the carriages..& when people are driving must watch out for Horse Poop on the street! Most carriages only have people in the back & horse is only thing in front! Dating is another strict thing that the Elder does! Again thanks, Lesley for another Unique Adventure of seeing Spain Abandoned House & Carriage area, thanks love you too, from USA

Wow! I love the carriage house. I hate to think about those carriages being left to rot. Someone should put them in a museum.

Lesley, in that tiny religious artifact there will be no water, that is for aromatic holy oil brought most likely from some monastery. You usually make a little cross on the forehead after praying with that oil. Also oil doesn't evaporate so fast, so couple of drops might last a week.
