    After 2 weeks of playing a new song of yours everyday I've gone from a embarrassingly bad strummer to being able to pick up this pattern just by ear! That was an awesome feeling. Thanks for your help. I'm definitely buying your book. Ps if you ever get the time it would be cool to do every song on that album. I don't know anyone that doesn't like that CD!

    The way Kurt Plays open chords in between power chords, for me, makes it actually easier to navigate than if it were just power chords all the way. Going from C5 to open G to Bb5 is like he's laid out an itineary on the fretboard with lots of shortcuts. and it sounds amazing.

    • @TiberiusWallace
      @TiberiusWallace Pƙed 7 lety +2

      I'm a moron?! Okay, boy!
      "um" Right the issue here is you never got what I was saying in the first place, which is that out of the three members of the band Nirvana Dave Grohl admitted that Kurt cobain was a far more skilled and technical drummer and had actually arranged the drum sections in songs in which Grohl played when he first joined.
      I wasn't talking about the plethora of previous drummers the band had but if i was that would still apply since Dan Peters was among them. Worth pointing out thatr dan peters wasn't kicked by Cobain as you claim but left due to him being in the at the time far more successful band Mudhoney and had to move on with them.
      Now please, Wigga y'oll, leave us big boys to discuss music.

    • @TiberiusWallace
      @TiberiusWallace Pƙed 7 lety +4

      Aye, he did a reply to this today as well.
      He totally missed what the comment was about. It was about the fact that Kurt Cobain was a very technical and accomplished drummer himself. Grohl was good at what he did and he has a very distinctive style and by all accounts very good indeed.
      Arguably Grohl was to drumming what Cobain was to guitar - excellent but not by the book.

    I remember the 1st time I heard Nirvana, is was "Teen Spirit", that was being played in a shop. So when I was back in London I had to explain the song to the guy that worked in the record store. I didnt know the name of the band or the song. Just from the hook, he sold me Nirvana's Teen Spirit Single on Import. It had Lithium, Even in his youth, and another, and from then I was hooked. In a time of Eddie van Halens and Metallica and Slash, Kurt was not a technical guitarist like them, but he was a great songwriter and I think a really good guitarist. I was on of those Nirvana snobs that was all "I knew of this band 1st, before the hype!"

      I didn't finished the video. I'm guessing the tuning is in Drop D. So right now, my guitar is in half step down.

    Those mutes you are doing on beats 2 and 4 are very important imo to feel of this song. Without it just doesn’t sound as good. The hardest for me has been incorporating those mutes and switching to play the D and C in open as it so makes the song sound better. Muting the strings while playing a C and D chord has been hard. It’s much easier doing while playing the power chord version.
