    - Amsterdam oxide black
    - Lukas fluorescent yellow

I for one was very happy with the marble roll. The tilt is OK but the marble roll was great. Love your stuff. I never seem to have a preconception of what it's going to look like. I think the color combination is the most important thing about abstract art. Just let the marble roll.

Hi Fiona (really like your videos) I use marbles as well. The problem you mentioned (with the big space left in the marble track) it may be either the paint is a tad too thick to run/flow back in around the marble as it pushes the paint out and around itself or possibly it's the black... maybe the black is too thin on the canvas (meaning whats left on the canvas after applying the base coat and spreading it out), or sat too long. I encountered a similar issue when I used a racquet ball (before I had acquired the ball bearing). But luckily my paint was thin enough to still flow back in on the wide path left by the larger ball. That was my first attempt at this technique.
If I may, I'd suggest starting your puddles with the base color. to put more paint on top of the canvas again.
But I don't know if that will affect/bleed thru to the top colors as the paint spreads/sets, as Im sure our mixing ratios are probably different.
I use a heavier "marble", same size but its a metal "ball bearing" from the hardware store, and rolls a lot better thru the thicker paint for me. I too like the paint on the thicker side to keep the colors separate and to slow the heavy metal marble. I hope this helps you figure it out, either directly or indirectly.
I also like the fluorescents. I need to get more colors and learn how to prepare the heavier bodied tube paints, as the bulk of the paint I have been using only needed water. My issue is the black mixing with the one color of florescent green I have at the moment. It's much thicker than the paints I have been using thus far. Maybe I made it too thin with water. I don't know if I should add pva glue or what to my florescent green. I have floetrol but I leave that out for the marble paintings as I do not want celling on my marble pieces (but might look cool).

From what I've heard it's due to the thickness of your base Coat and how fast you move the marble. Faster leaves less of a Grove in your base Paint!
