I’ve bought a new bike - The Aprilia Tuareg 660. I wanted a twin cylinder adventure motorcycle to chew up big miles in Europe yet be light enough to tackle some easy trails. In the end, I bought with my heart!

Buy with your heart! If we thought about it too much our head would say “get the bus its safer” motorcycling is a passion of the heart. 😊
Yeah, you're right! Cheers Richard :D
That's the bike life..go with the heart
I've just swapped my T7 for the Tuareg, and agree with everything you say! Just a better overall bike. See you at the ABR festival!
Nice one! See you there Duncan :D Pint anyone???????
I’m having this debate myself at the moment. Thanks for your perspective. By the way, yours is an underrated channel. Well done. Cheers from Seattle, USA!
Cheers Frank, thanks for the comment :D Go try the Tuareg - Its a bit bonkers, I love it!
Congrats - and ride hard, stay safe! Hope to see more soon!
Great choice… looking forward to seeing your adventures…
Congrats with the new bike. Looking forward to follow the never ending story on the search for the perfect adventure motorcycle 👍🏻
Congratulations, I think you’ve made the right decision. I’m looking forward to seeing your new adventures 👍🏻
Congratulations on your new Aprilia Tuareg! It's hard to go wrong with that bike, especially with the cruise control factor. I seriously was ready to buy one over this winter but, I need something in the 100+ horsepower range because of my large build. However, those bikes with that much power are overpowering on the wallet. I resorted to used but they got sold before I could go buy them. So, I settled for a Triumph Speed Triple 1050 and love it. I have my DR650 for dualsport riding.
Cheers Jay, enjoy your 1050 :D
Always follow your heart ❤ i am happy that you choose the Touareg 660, and am looking forward to new adventures from you 👍
Totally agree with everything you said, the only caveat for me would be the lack of aftermarket parts and the cost of the oem parts, but if you don’t crash it should be all good 😁
Cheers Ian :D
Perfect choice! Looking forward to seeing it at ABR 😊 see you there !
Brilliant. Can't wait to see your take on this bike.
Cheers Matt, more soon! All the best :D
can we take a moment to appreciate the sheer quality of videos?
IMHO this is on one step with @fortnine.
Please do adventure-bike stuff together!
regards from germany
Thank you so much 😊
Congratulations!
Congratulation on a new bike sir.
I love your way of presenting and speaking. It's entertaining and amusing. Welcome to the Tuareg family. I have one too. Very good buy! Best bike on the market in this class - my opinion. Looking forward to your experience reports.
Congratulations from Barcelona!
Happy new bike, health to enjoy 👍
Absolutely reasonable decision, no need to apologize.
Enjoy the Tuareg 👍🏼😀😀
Agree with all the points. Cost of ownership however will be much higher on the 660 and measurably less reliable I think, and far harder to work on yourself. Those things aside. It's a very nice motorcycle.
Fair points I will cover this in the next episode - Cheers :D
cruise control is now my new MUST have... Love love LOVE my Tuareg!
Wonderful ! congrats 🎉.
Cant wait to hear about your adventures with him and the boys 🤟.
Let us know how easy it is to pick it up 😆
Ha! Yeah, 200+ kgs, err...... I'll need a rugby team with me to help! Cheers :D
👍 congrats on the new bike.
Looks brilliant and the heart wants what the heart wants…..or some such trite rubbish 😄😄
Looking forward to the future vids 🙂
Great choice wise move will be good to some updates looks good enjoy
Looks like a great bike to me, and the yellow is my fav colour too! Look forward to more updates..
Cheers :D More soon..... 👍
Congrats with this unorthodox but happier choice! Enjoy :)
Looks like a nice choice!Nice color too!
Congrats to your new bike - I am quite sure you will have lots of fun with it (and always having that grin on your face when hearing that intake sound!). I am taking my Tuareg to its second big trip in a few weeks from now. Last summer it was about 9000km through Scandinavia, this spring it will be about the same mileage through Italy, Greece and some of the Balcan countries and who knows what's next...
Cheers Edgar :D Good luck, thanks for watching and commenting :D
Congratulations 🎉 great bike and I am looking forward to your future adventures with the Italian 😃
Cheers Rafal :D Fingers crossed!!!! All the best :D
Hi, it was great to see you in Hexham today, I was on the vfr. Look forward to seeing more of your vids
Cheers! Great to meet you and good luck in Germany! Enjoy and take it easy 👍
Excellent choice. A very nice bike.
This guy is a focused fortnine, so good. Keep it up!
Cheers :D Thanks for watching :D
Smart choice! Nice color choice as well! :)
Cheers Ian, great to see you here! Yeah, kinda like the Acid Gold now :D Cheers for watching!
🔥 looking forward to new videos ❤️
10,000 views in three days shows there is interest by many people. Unless it's your spot on personality... Thank you for the Update and the minor flaws you mentioned. Very honest review. Ride it l Iike you stole it and please keep us posted. Scott
Cheers Scott, thanks for watching!
There's a lot on youtube about the T7 so good move for your channel too. Happy days 👍
Nice and informative video! You just confirmed a lot of what I thought about the Tuareg myself ... I am getting more and more attracted with this Italian lady ...
Cheers :D Yeah, she's a great bike! Grab a test ride if you can, I think you will be surprised - I was! Thanks.
Nice choice, how easy it is with the basic maintenance like, oil change, perhaps air filter change, etc. perhaps you can give us some hints.. greetings !
Hi, no idea on maintenance as yet, only done 200 miles!!! More soon!
The video quality was excellent!
Cheers Gary 👍
I'm wanting to test out the Aprilia this year. Am absolutely curious about. Especially to compare it with my current Africa Twin from 2019. Even though the Honda has been modified greatly!
Just entered the give away. Would be really cool to get back to your side of the pond and meet up with you guys. Am loving your videos and always manage to bring a smile on my face. Thank you!
good choice
Super stoked for you! Glad you followed your heart. In my experience, I've never liked a bike I bought with my head only. If it doesn't tickle your senses or lights a fire in your eyes, it's not the bike you want. All the best with it! A T700 owner.
Yeah, agreed! Cheers for the comment 👍
I look forward to seeing how you get on with it. I love my T7, my housemate fancies the Tuareg. Both bikes would be top slots if I were buying again.
Cheers Ginny, TBH, both are brilliant bikes, down to personal prefs I think :D Your housemate must try both!
My neighbor has a T7 and I have a Tuareg. They are both great and both have their strong points. Can't go wrong really.
Nice bike, pity about the sandstorm clouds on Blyth Beach🤣. Still loving your channel.
Ha ha!!! Dont think the local farmer was happy! He has yellow sheep now....... Cheers :D
Gimme a shout if you wanna ride out on the big bikes, be keen to see the Tuareg out on the trails.
Cheers Matthew :D Will do!
If I had the choose between those 2 I'd go for the apriila but I did have a choice and I bought a 2023 black RR22 ducati desert X 😆😆😆
Good looking machine!
I'm really starting to like this bike the more youtube reviews i watch. It would make a great tourer that can also handle dirt roads and tougher terrain. Probably a lot more comfortable on those longer rides than my DR.
Good choice!
SMART MOVE.. Love the special smoke effects.
The Decking paint is still there.
ROFL!!!!! I must get that in the bin!!! :D
Enjoy your beautiful machine.
The Tuareg 660 is probably the "better" bike. They're more difficult to find in America than the T7. As a result there is more of a premium and less availability for parts. The T7 has commonality with the other CP2 engine bikes. Comes down to convenience. I'd love to have a Tuareg 660 but it would be at least 30% more expensive IF I could find one.
Plus, fully farkled T7's are on the used market cheaper than buying a new one now.
As a 250 rally owner myself, I have thought about the Toureg as a nice new bike, but the AJP PR7 is so far on the top of my list. Have you think about the AJP, as the weight is similar to the 250 Rally?
I really like your channel, funny staff, bikes and off-road, what else you need?? 😊
Yeah, I did consider the AJP, but in the end I wanted a bike that would mile munch around Europe so more time on pavement :D Thanks for watching
I knew it, enjoy the Aprilia. it's such a sweet bike !
I've more than doubled the price of my T7 with parts to make it fairly competent. With the Aprilia ride it off and enjoy. Now the Yammy frames are breaking. Great engine, supply everything else. For RTW travel I'll still pick the T7, dealer support. Aprilia is rare
Fair point, for RTW anything but Italian! HA HA!!!
Frames are breaking? Litterally two cases coming from one guy, most likely due too crash bar mounting points. Aprillia hasn't proven itself yet. And how did you even spend double the price ot the T7. I am not even coming close to that and it is a mean machine now.
Centre of Gravitation is the key word and solution which makes your choice the right choice! Drove the T700 from Germany to the North Cape, to Gibraltar and criss cross Europe...and sold it!!! Winds blew me
almost off the road whenever they occured.
I still haven't seen one of these on the roads of the UK but see T7s everywhere.
No one can dispute that this bike it more pleasing to the eye than the other two. I this colour it looks great. Just keep on top of the cosmetic upkeep and you will be fine. Ride safe, Mike.
I dispute it. I love the raven black T-7 the most. I'm not really into popping colors tbh.
@@durtyred86 agree , I know the Tuareg is a good bike but I just can't get my head around the looks, kind of like they were aiming for a retro look but just ended up with a bike that looks old.
Cheers Mike, the colour is growing on me! I bought this one as the price was such a good deal - It was the last one on the shop floor! Also got the comfort seat thown in :D
really? I'd say the T7 is the best looking. The Taureg headlight is just ugly.
Enjoy!!
Another cracking video gentlemen! I'm particularly pleased to see middle aged blokes playing with smoke bombs in the name of art. I'm assuming the significant others are fully aware of what you get up to 🙂
Lovely bike, lovely colour, enjoy! Cheers, Phil.
Cheers Phil, hope you're back to 100% - The sheep are now an odd colour......
@@Motoeuro On the mend thanks! I think I read something about lurid coloured sheep in the local newspaper....
Same choice and I enjoy every ride…
Wish you all the luck and fun in the world with it!!! if someone would've told me a few years ago i'd own a HD Road King one day alongside my w650 scrambler and my DR650SE... I'd told them to feck off 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, funny how that works! Cheers :D
Fantastic as usual. Now you can do more videos, yesss.
I miss my crf250 rally but my near new ktm 790advR is so dialed in the ride is chalk and cheese and the extra 70 hp is also very nice. Centre of gravity on the ktm is much better than the T7. And not much different to the Honda
Less " gone to the dark side" more, seen the light !!!
In motorbikes, life, love... Follow your heart but keep your head.
I am not surprised with your choice, hope will be as reliable as japanesse bikes, lovely moto, I am considering it myself
Honda !!
Tuareg all day! Such a good ride. Mine has been flawless.
I think you’ve bought a great bike in the Aprilia, but……………………………………….🫣😉
But really congrats on the new bike, look forward hearing you experiences with the Italian Stallion. 👍
It's a great time to be in the market for a mid range adventure bike. Me personally I'm considering between the Tuareg, T7, Ducati desert X and the KTM890 adventure 👍
I sat on a Tuareg but wasn't close to getting both feet flat with my almost 31 in inseam.
I love your presentation style. Very professional. I'm an off-road rider but not have given up "adventure" riding temporarily. The problem is picking those heavy adventure bikes in deep sand and mud repeatedly. My bikes are around 100kg now, give or take 20 kg. However, i still enjoy your videos.
Cheers Martin, yeah shes a heavy girl alright! But will hopefully take me beyond my local trails to Europe in comfort! I'm old you know..... HA HA!
@@Motoeuro I think the Aprillia is a great choice for Europe. Although British, I live in Mongolia and there is no dealer / distributor network for Aprilia's here or even close.
So, for me, if I were to get an adventure bike again, a Japanese bike would be more sensible. Or possibly a Chinese one. Or even KTM which has a dealer here.
I can't really do much international riding since we're neighbored by unfriendly countries (Russia and China) but Mongolia is the size of Western Europe so there is good adventuring to be had in country. It's an off-road playground, practically fenceless with no rules about where you can ride.
@@martinfoster5163 Mongolia looks and sounds awesome for bikes!
Low front fenders make zero sense to me in the adventure bike world. I’ve seen wet clay gum up a front tire to the point where it completely locked up. Very few bikes come with a high front fender but those are what I call a true adventure bike
Yeah, its always bothered me that low fender on Africa Twins, etc!
Test rode the Tuareg twice, thought it was a great bike (Quite tall for my 5"10 height but manageable) but in the end bought a ex demo Tiger 900 GT PRO - has everything the Tuareg has (Cruise Control, nice TFT screen, rider modes) but also Heated Seats, Heated Grips, Quick shifter as standard, Fog lights, crash bars as standard, electronically adjustable suspension, Phone connectivity, proper fuel cap, 3 USB sockets, more power better wind protection and cruising ability plus mine came with full Triumph Luggage, Top Box and 2 Side Panniers all for £10,000 same as the basic Tuareg. I still enjoy watching your videos of your Tuareg, but for me riding 99% on road think the Tiger was the best option. The cost to spec a Tuareg up to my GT PRO spec would have been out of reach and some of the features aren't even available from Aprilia. Anyway, love all your videos well done, keep it up!
Cheers! Yes, the T900GT Pro sounds a perfect bike for you - VERY nice machine enjoy!!! Thanks for watching :D
Congrats! Seems the ApriliaTuareg 660 is making inroads over the T7. Rightfully so, and Aprilia should realise this, and run with its success, by making it even better, and providing a strong client service base. It seems, that off the bat, you will need better bash plate (and there are some nice heavy duty ones aftermarket), bark buster hand guards, and exhaust that removes the the excess heat of the cat.
Cheers David, yes, the bashplate is poor, and it runs very hot! More soon......
Enjoy your new bike!...I forgive you for slating my beloved T7!! Cheers Steve
Cheers Steve, it was close between them both!
If I was in Europe (yes I'm including GB) then Aprilia would be on my list, but in Australia Yamaha has better dealership support so it's a no brainer...
This seems to be a big issue for many, lets hope Aprilia sort this, its killing their sales - Tuareg is such a great bike!
I went through the same thing. Fell for Italian good looks, and was let down by Italian technology. Oh well...live and learn.
Gulp. Fingers crosssed!!!
Congratulations! After all the reasons you have given for buying the bike .. I really think you should be honest about the real reason .. You just had to get an Italian Bike to go with your Italian boots .. and I must say the Italianness is spreading into your video editing as well .. which was very stylish ..😀 I'm looking forward to watching your "journey" with the bike ..
Ha ha! Cheers Graham! Thanks for the comment :D
😆😆
Yup. Let your heart guide you. If you have a convenient service center, nothing wrong with the toureg.
shame about the transalp, Honda seems to lost its way with that .The Yamaha rally 700 looks like the most competent and the new Aprilia looks good on paper but the only Aprilia I've had the electrics let them down ,SO looking forward to your future travels
Cheers, I hope the elec issues are over these days!
I improved our headlamp issue by adjusting them down, both dips and the main. They were set far too high from the factory illuminating the ISS not the road ahead.
Ah! Great tip cheers :D
Mine was the same, high and low beam headlights from factory pointing up in the air.
Guareschi has Some nice parts for The Tuareg
Congrats, on paper it beats the new Transalp, new P-Strom 800.
Lighter, bigger tank than Honda, no inner tubes and cruise control. Hopefully it proves to be a reliable and worthy partner, interested to see your updates on the ownership experience.
You chose the right bike for the right reasons. That foot peg positioning issue is why I didn’t buy a V-Storm 650. Simple ergo failures like that are an instant deal breaker for me.
Yeah, its a pain but live-a-ble for me! That induction makes up for it LOL! Cheers :D
@@Motoeuro what is wrong with them? Too much forward?
@@timsalabimbombassa they’re right by my ankles when feet down so legs wide when stopped! Might be my silly leg length!!!
The only thing I don't like of this bike is.. the front .. the Wind shield! I would intall similar lights in this space.. a set of good lights similar to those of yamaha T7!!
Tuareg, no doubt.
This should be an adventure...... :D
I agree tuareg is a better bike the only thing that made me bought the t7 was the price, reliability and the presence of a Yamaha main dealer in my country, but mainly the price.
Buy in winter, you can name your price with the dealer! I got a cazy good deal on mine :D
@@Motoeuro it doesn't work like that here anymore, not after the pandemic and a few other things that happened in my country. and the t7 was a lot cheaper, 5k+ cheaper D:
@@rushiiiop wow! That’s a lot of cash to save - I got mine brand new way less that a used demo T7 👍
It's got a warranty, don't worry..... 👍👍
The aprilia is the best of rhe bunch no doubt, the only downside is dealer network here in the states
This my mindset.
Bare bones with great offroad abilities? Get the T-7.
Middle of the road with decent tech and so-so offroad abilities? Get the Transalp.
Great tech but also great offroad abilities? Get the Tuareg.
The thing is, all 3 of these bikes will be awesome. The Tuareg has a questionable reputation though... the Transalp is more for the road runner who likes fire trails here and there.. it won't be great in the most gnarly roads... And the T-7 while amazing off road, lacks the bells and whistles that road runners like... this "flaw" is subjective however. Some guys see the T-7 as what the new KLR was supposed to be- bare bones and bulletproof with enough get up and go to make you giggle like a girl.
Fair points there :D cheers!
I was wonder about weight distribution on the Italian, cause looking at it, it looks top heavy like the t7.
Cheers mate, enjoy👍
Actually, no. Tha gas tank is mostly under the seat. The airbox is where the tank would normally be. COG is quite low.. yes, I have one 🙂
Yep, Squatcho is correct :D
Congratulations on the beautiful Tuareg.
Do you have the comfort seat in normal height or the tall version? May I ask how tall you are?
Hi, I am 5ft 11 Inches (180cm), the seat is the 3D comfort seat, think it is standard height :D IMHO looks far batter as the normal seat makes it too yellow! Cheers!
Yep, just brought the Martian Red version myself. Lovely bike and easier ride than the T7
Congrats! I would have preferred the red one, but I got a cazy good deal on the Acid Gold :D Its not that bad if you close your eyes........
@@Motoeuro I'm a big fan of good deals🤣
Acid gold is my favourite, have been looking at buying one and that’s the colour I’d go for. Some of the sticker sets for the acid gold are great
@@slakk5093 where are you looking for sticker sets?
@@slakk5093 I created my own for the front screen! Hopefully will sell them at a nominal fee - I think it breaks up the bland looking screen area! :D
After years of buying with my heart and all the bills that went with it I bought a T7 with my head and the heart isn’t disappointed… more miles on (& off) road per £
I’m looking at the tuareg and the Transalp, I need it to get me to work every day. Do you still trust the Tuareg 1 year on?
Come on mate be honest you only got it cos the front end looks like the alien wearing a bishops hat 😂😂😂😂
Ha ha ha!!! Yeah, you're right!!!! Cheers Mick :D
Tuareg, please
Very nice!! What are your plans for it?
Plans for this year: 4 countries in 4 days, Wild Atlantic Way, some trail work and Beers ‘In Brugge’…. Wish us luck LOL!!!
Merci beaucoup, super commentaire !

Merci!
