  • Frenchman's Hole is a cave 100 metres east of the Lord Holmes' Caves group. It is a long thin cave. This was about 2 hours after high tide on a calm, sunny day. The waves still entered fairly gently but the volume of water hitting the back of the cave made a loud crashing/banging sound that overloaded the microphone, which really does not pick up the full effect or volume of the sound at all. The sound waves reverberated back to the front of the cave, making a vibrating, stuttering rushing sound that can be heard on the video and there a sharp percussive clap when the wave hit the end of the cave, that I could feel in my ears as the air came rushing past.
