@@Rajakarta: Yes!!! Super perfect & true comment !!!!! ❤️ 💕
I think the Joker will win all the oscars or almost
I can't wait for Messiah. Truly will be a masterpiece to this trilogy of Dune.
Hoping they make Dune Messiah a two-parter
Dune is one story told in two parts. Dune Messiah is the controversial second book in the Paul Atreides story arc. Children of Dune shifts to his baby sister and twin children with Leto ll being the main protoganist throughout the remaining books.
@@Chan-zv5kbDune Messiah is the shortest of the 6 books 📚 that Frank Herbert ✍️ writes.
I can't see an easy adaption of the book to screen. Will be interesting to see it but I am not sure he will be able to reach the levels of the these two movies.
I can't wait to see how he completes Paul's arc.
Florence said in an interview that when she first met christopher walken, they just talked about doughnuts for half an hour.
That is my favorite Dune production story now
Christofer Walken is a creepy guy
what heppened on that boat when Natalie Wood died?
@@winterbalm ?
@@VictorIV0310 google it
@@winterbalm Wasn't Walken one of the witnesses who said he saw Wagner push Wood? Perhaps he feared for his own life and retaliation from a powerful and financially connected murderer
Rebecca Ferguson did amazing job of portraying a vengeful survivor who transformed into an almost cosmic malefic mystical mother.
Loved her ever since I saw Silo. She is such a cool actress :) Perfect portrayal in Dune.
Denis is a Sci-Fi Prodigy. Really, the return of the prodigal son...
Return of the King.
"Return of the prodigal son" doesn't make sense though, because Denis at no point had a moment where he professionally erred or lost his way. He always had it.
@@fernhausluv44 agreed, but I just said it anyway! 😅
The Real Lisan Al Gaib of Cinema
blade runner, arrival, dune parts 1 and 2.. there are no small roles in his films, every character, scene or dialogue has intent or purpose in his story.. it's interesting to see how he continues with this adaptation seeing the changes he made from the book.. i hope we can see all the surviving characters story continue until their relevance comes to an end and how the once relevant characters continue to outlast their relevance..
I love how the behind the scenes still looks like they're on Arrakis and they're just filming a movie
Shishakli actually added so much to the vibe and completing the feeling of the Fremen being a full hearted culture
agreed
She did a terrific job! Would have loved to see more of Souheila playing this character.
The last clip with Timothée and Denis saying "I love you too" in French is very moving. The love that's been poured into this movie, we feel it; this movie has soul.
He is actually saying “merci, mon ami, je te remerci” which means “thank you, my friend”. I love it ❤
French
@@michaelamarkova1487 You're both right. He did say "Merci mon ami", but Timothée also said at the very end "Je t'aime aussi".
16:03 Austin laughing with that black teeth is the most cursed thing I've seen all week
One thing that really impressed me was how well the actors spoke in chakobsa. I love how much it was used throughout the movie.
Same! I absolutely loved the Chakobsa aspect of this film.
Florence Pugh brought so much life to Princess Irulan. Even with her limited screen time she feels so well realized. Kudos to
She's absolutely amazing, I think she would of made an amazing galadriel in lotr as well, her voice carries so much weight
i was hesitant with her casting, same with austin, they were not what i was visualizing when i read dune..
@@MrRaZzA1995she doesn't have the elf look though. She is a very beautiful woman but not in the same way.
Sadly, one actress notably absent here (as well as in other featurettes) is Charlotte Rampling. She did remarkable work in both parts, equal to Sian Phillips (Lynch movie). She's a true movie veteran like Christopher Walken.
Actually, she's recorded in BTS interviews, and I've seen it in raw footage clips someone uploaded. That makes this even more bizarre that they excluded her in the official ensemble clip. 🤷🏽♀️
At least she is present in several of the ensemble shots, albeit not in costume
@@wathsi99 maybe she wasn’t available 🤷♀️
@SaberRexZealot all the raw interviews were published earlier by someone, and she was already interviewed. This edit includes BTS scenes and those interviews. So they basically excluded her.
@@wathsi99 why, do you think, they did that?
Stilgar is so underrated. His performance was amazing
Timothy deserves an award for best voice actor. His "SILENCE!" Is so well done.
Blasphemy..
Austin smiling back with black teeth at Lea's intense look SENT ME ksdkskd
You could see the chemistry just flowing off the two of them
Shishakli is so great and the actress playing her did amazing
100% agree! she was incredible in every scene her character was in - wish we got more of her
She's a north african beauty. Way too underrated
She would have made a better Chani. No problem with Zendaya but if you told me the other girl was Chani I’d believe it.
@@Calypso694zendaya was like watching a stroppy teenager the entire time
She felt more Chani-like than Zendaya. I believe it's because of Zendaya's accent and delivery feels very American in the midst of this tribe.
I loved how Chani was very independent and more willing to call out Paul, but they never lower Paul at her expense. Chani is how you make an independent female character right.
Charlotte Rampling is amazing as Gaius Helen Mohiam, so much of the tone of these films hinges on her and she nails it.
This movie deserves all academy awards! Is one of the best sci-fy movie ever!!!
While I'm hesitant it will, I nonetheless hope this is the case. Let's make this get a sweep like they did with RotK.
Really, really didn't deserve a dammed thing.
blade runner 2049 and arrival were nominated for several awards and even won some, i wouldn't expect too much for best picture.. i think arrival was nominated when there were 10 nominees.. i hope denis and the cast gets to be nominated..
It's incredible how the director talk about almost as if the characters had selected the actors and not him... almost like fate...
I promise you no one picked Christopher Walken as the emperor except for a bunch of studio execs that owed him a favor lol
@@oheldenring6937”I was honored that Christopher accepted the role” - Denis
@@eggnogoy7424 Yeah what else would he say... It's his movie, he wouldnt be sincere if his product could be damaged
18:45 that epic "the king is seen by reflection'' transitioning to the reflection of the king's ship scene dropped my jaw...
Denis's beautiful handling of Chani's character is what is going to make this adaptation TIMELESS.
Well said, i couldn’t agree more. If you love his work, go watch Sicario
I agree
Terrible handling. This is not the Chani of the book.
@@northernpaladin66 the Chani of the books (which, yes, i have read, multiple times) is not satisfying onscreen and feels very one-dimensional. Also, if "terrible" means not a 1:1 book adaptation, welp, most film adaptations are "terrible," I guess.
@@AngiMP No it isn't a 1:1 book adaptation it's a completely different character altogether and nothing to do with the tragic arc arc of Chani.
Best picture, director, adapted screenplay, score, cinematography nominees at minimum during awards season. One of the best movies of the past 10yrs.
Best actor for Timothee too. I wasn't sure beforehand if he had the required the gravitas and presence needed, but he certainly did! I was ready to fight for the Lisan al-Gaib by the end lol
this upload has awakened my Dune hyper fixation once again
The female leads were all perfect. Very refreshing to see how each of them had a distinct presence in the story. Excellent
Denis showed that a big part of politics is influenced by women. It is clever depiction of Dune universe and is faithful to the essence of story
This cast was phenomenal
Not that I care about the Oscars, but... Dune Part 2 needs to be nominated for loads of Oscars! Perhaps the most amazing experience I've had at the cinema.
You can feel the positive vibe of everyone on set while they realize they are flming one of the best movie of the decade. I watched it 6 times in theaters, still need more !
"More! Give me more!"
video flowed so well too...love how they showed a scene including the character before the official introduction
Part 2 was easily the most enjoyable and epic cinema experience i've had in my life. Filmmaking at its absolute finest. You can see how meaningful it was for the cast to be part of such an incredible effort in making probably the best sci fi film of the century so far.
Terrible and boring
As it was written! 🗣️🌑☄️🪱🤺🌙
🙏
ExcludingChartlotte Rampling here is wild to me... she's played such an important character with insane precision and nuance.
Watch & learn Hollywood, Lady Jessica is how you do a strong female character: feminine, manipulative & lethal
But also poignant, intelligent, elegant, skilled, determined, knowledgeable, and mature. And she has flaws and does mistakes. She is not pretentious for no reason, not cringy, not a Mary Sue.
Real
This IS a Hollywood movie, lol.
@@eh.6595 Ohh really, didn't knew, thanks a bunch 🙄
@mollywoodshots6503 @@hypatia137 I would add vulnerable, maternal, strict but protective; torn between her love for her children and her ambitions/beliefs; planting seeds to steer events in the direction she wants but then restraining herself at crucial moments to watch the payoff unfold.Hollywood has many classic examples of feminine, manipulative & lethal 'femme fatales', but Lady Jessica as portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson definitely does not conform to the traditional tropes.
Loved shishakli in this movie, this character brought so much to the film.
Indeed some of the best ensembles, right alongside Lords of the Rings, The Dark Knight, Star Wars
Batista did a fantastic job..
The suduction of Fade Ratha by Lady Fenring is easily one of the best scenes in the whole movie - absolutely flawless.
Much more passionate than Paul and Chani's scenes
Truly, both of the actors were so great. The intensity was palpable. The sociopathic nature of the man and the cunning of the woman. Sheer brilliance :)
For sure, it's so special and perfect!
I just imagine working under Denis. He seems to have such an intelligent and deeply loving demeanor.
I also love what they did with Chani. She had a LOT of depth, and the conflict was very powerful. Throughout the movie there were moments when I be watching Paul but basically seeing text saying "Chani did not like this. -1". (After the "Stilgar loves this. +2")
I wish we had more time to see Austin Butler in action. He really stole his scenes, even beside a major scene-stealing veteran like Stellan. Honestly, I felt a little bad for Dave Bautista, because I know he's trying to break out of roles where he's the big brute.
It's also EXTREMELY impressive how they pulled off the tone progression. They did a great job of power scaling Paul, and having you root for him and cheer for his success, while simultaneously building a knot in your gut from the tragic nature of it. You can simultaneously feel his ascent and his descent.
hats off to everyone involved, the rewatch factor on these movies is pretty crazy. straight up art
Bro I think I've watched them both about 10 times last few weeks and still not bored
This series has the potential to be remembered forever in cinema. This is pure art. A. Butler stole the show as usual.
This cast… was phenomenal. In a true masterpiece of a film.
The way they speak so highly of each other is so wholesome.
"how am i gonna play a king, i'm from Queens NY......" thats artsy wordplay coming from Walken
The fact that I got to see The Bruce Dickinson witness a galactic battle of the bands between Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley was the most innovative shift in cinema of all time.
I don't know about other aspects of the movie but one i know is that this movie has the best cinematography i ever seen. Like every shot is insane 😮
When a talented and proven artist is given complete control over a project, this is what can happen.
Warner Bros production put lot of effort into the Bonus Features and featurette compared to other production houses.
because this is part massive add and production campaigns....I mean yes, you get some behind the scenes but this is all just promo to keep fans in the universe until the next movie. you never see how the production really went, how vfx and sfx departments work together because they promote this as "true desert no vfx used" product. don't fall for the massive add campaign as believers do for a prophecy
the most incredible group of actors
wow, it's so impactful to see Zendaya take a moment to take that last shot in 5:02, goes to show the audience wasn't the only one thrown into an emotional blender during that scene. so profound
All these recent videos coming out almost feel like a victory lap for Dune part two and it's much deserved, looking forward to seeing Messiah
I love these types of videos that allow you to get a view not only into behind the scenes material, but also the personal and human layer behind the characters of this amazing movie. Would love to see more of this!
Stilgar is my favorite character! Javier is amazing as always
I love the chani changes. It's a great breath of fresh air to have someone say to Paul
"NO"
Rebecca Ferguson is truly a legend
You can tell how deeply Denis cares about the source material. It shows in the attention to every minute detail and the affection the cast has for him. I'm also very excited for Zendaya and Florence to have bigger roles in Messiah - two great actresses who I think will really carry the story of Paul to it's conclusion in Part 3.
The casting was absolutely amazing. One of the best movie I've ever seen.
Denis and Christopher(Nolan)…man am I grateful to be alive in this moment of two masterminds of cinema… sometimes I even hope that they would collab on film, with hans zimmer and ludwig göransson as joint composers for that film, that would literally be peak cinema in the history of mankind 😭😫
Souheila Yacoub as Sishkali was such a joy to watch. Her chemistry with Zendaya felt genuine and gave a whole sisters-in-arms vibe. She did a great job!
At first, Florence Pugh was the cast member I was looking forward to seeing the most. After watching her in Black Widow, I've basically been in love with her ever since. But in the end, the one actor I enjoyed watching the most was Anya Taylor Joy. It may be surprising to hear that considering how she only made a cameo appearance, but she's up there with Florence Pugh for my favorite actors of all time, and I like the story of how she appeared in the film.
Apparently she wanted to be in the film desperately and Denis Villeneuve wanted her to be in it just as much as she did. However, he didn't think it would be possible considering she was already committed to being in Australia for Furiosa at the time, but she fully insisted that she could easily make it happen despite her scheduling at the time. She kept asking her agents about Dune while she was filming Furiosa, but it wasn't until she returned home from filming that Villeneuve said they could still make it work as long as she left for Namibia immediately.
The funny thing about this whole story is that her cameo in the film was not only kept a secret from the general public but also the entire cast and most of the crew members who weren't in Namibia for the scene. Because of this, she had to ask Villeneuve to inform everybody in the film about her appearance few weeks before the premiere in London as she didn't want any of them to see her there and wonder why she was with them.
The fact that she had to beg the director to do whatever he could to include her in the picture and then went from filming one movie to another almost immediately shows you how dedicated she was to her work. But then again, you would be to when it comes to a film like Dune. I can't wait to see her in Dune: Messiah.
OK….!! I SEE YOU WB…. All these extras bits better be on the EXTENDED DIRECTOR’S CUT!! Please!!! GIVE THE FANS THE LONG VERSION WE ALL WANT!!!!
One thing I love is how the dune-tops are used as meeting points. We see Paul speaking with different characters atop the dunes throughout the film: Jessica, Gurney, Chani, Jamis, Stilgar.
Love this detail too! the dunes are a literally supporting character.
So much talent and so many highlights in this cast. I hope some of them are able to breakthrough the scifi/genre stigma. I'd love to see some awards recognition for Timotheé, Rebecca, Javier, and Austin in particular.
These aren't behind the scenes, these are promos.
It's literally behind the scenes
@@lax4life0607 Parts of these have already been released, as promos. They can be both, but they were most certainly used as promos for the movie.
And your an idiot
@@lax4life0607it’s promotional, real BTS shows the production challenges being solved by different heads of production, coupled with footage and testimony - not a full frontal glazefest- as great as this is.
Where's Charlotte Rampling? 😮
I really enjoy the ambiance of the spatializing the craft of explaining what prophecy means, in a religious sense. It’s extremely difficult to tell a thematic tale of messiah, the time of Jesus and mosses in a framing of a love story. Pairing it with the landscape of desert is a blending of a perfect concealer to a face
that shot of the emperors throne room is just something amazing
I have never had tears while a behind the scenes of a movie. But this bts made me emotional seeing actors/director passion towards their work with the bgm .
I also get tears looking at the salaries those actors got for primally standing around and looking cool.
couldn't even imagine a better cast than this!!!
This is why these films are so special not just the cinematography and D.V.s magic but how amazing the cast is and how they loved their roles coz they all did and absolutely blinding job. Definitely my favorite movie ever. Both of them.💯💙

Absolute cinematic GOLD. This trilogy will forever be a masterpiece.
i would love to see denis make another blade runner movie
Best film of all time…a masterpiece
Austin Butler thank you for giving me faith again in actors. He was phenomenal in Elvis but here he was even better 😊
I think they should have cast another actor in the role of Emperor. Walken does not convey the level of menace expected from a cold, calculating sociopath like the Emperor. It conveys being an old and frail person, with all respect.
A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct.
you did it boys, again! my prayers have been answered. awesome awesome interview Sean and Kevin. can't wait to watch the Jaqueline and Patrice interview 🤌🙌
19:24 all the way to the end gives me shivers.
