About OBSIDIOUS:
In April 2020 guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer and drummer Sebastian Lanser decided to move on from their former band Obscura to continue their musical path with the completely new band OBSIDIOUS. Free from former boundaries, Obsidious merge extreme metal
with other genres of music into a unique style that people will somehow find familiar, but haven‘t heard yet. Together with their singer Javi Perera they set out to create a musical evolution!

I'm glad the instrumentalists kept the sound they had in Obscura, because they're all amazingly talented. The clean vocals in this are a breath of fresh air, too. Well done, guys.

Huge Obscura fan here, Diluvium was instantly one of my fav albums of all time. So glad these guys stuck together so we can still get albums like Diluvium, but this is different in such an awesome way, like someone added a touch of Periphery or something. We are living the best timeline where this exists alongside OG Obscura which is still epic in its own right
The next Obscura album is going to be amazing with Christian and Jeroen back.
David Diepold is a great drummer but I prefer Sebastian's playing.

this doesnt compare to obscura. theyre holding on to the diluvium sound and steffen has more than moved on. the guitars sound exactly like theyre b-side diluvium tracks lol and they named themselves obsidious which is such a non original name. sounds like a shitty horror film title.

I will buy this album. The players are obvious monsters, but it’s great to see them with clean vocals and growling. Dude clearly has amazing command of his voice.
Modern Drummer needs to give Sebastian his due respect. He’s up there with the Greb and Gartska’s of the world.

It's no wonder that my first reaction was "Holy shit, is that Einar Solberg?!" Javi covers Leprous and makes it look effortless. Superb. I wasn't prepared for this track to be anything less than genius, and I wasn't disappointed!

Here because I bought Archspire's "Bleed the Future". CD came with a sticker for Obsidious. All in all, glad Season of Mist put that in there! This is really good! Great job everyone! Vocals were awesome, drums were crazy, guitars were fun, and bass work was very fun as well!

Vocal wise I went in completely blank. Was positively surprised by the completely different approach.

For me as a long time Obscura fans, their parting with Obscura is actually a bless in disguise, because now we have two great band instead.
This might the best song all year. Im out of words. Amazing vocals that complements the song perfectly.
I already knew this would deliver instrumentally, but the mixed vocals really (pleasantly) surprised me. It sounds so fresh in the context of tech death. The production is so tight too. I'll be eagerly awaiting the full album!
Seeing Lanser, Klausenitzer and Trujillo play together is just pure perfection, though I still believe, music this busy is best served with "harsh" vocals as tey're mainly atonal. Having melodic power metal vocals just adds another layer of complexity, taking away from the overall flow in my mind. From a techniyal standpoint, the vocals are absolutely world class though. Especially love those tonal screams, getting a certain devin twonsend feeling from them

Every time I listen to this song I discover more details and joint structures to realize and affirm that we are facing a masterpiece that goes further in metal and that cannot be compared looking for similarities or equivalences with any other current or pre-existing band.

What a pleasant surprise! Having in the past followed previous participations of the individual members, I had quite high expectations, but the end result exceeds them!
And if for the instrumentalists of the band there was no doubt in my mind, the real surprise was singer Javi Perera. Amazing vocal melodies and diversity in vocal styles bring this something extra to the song.
And when you think you have heard it all, this chorus comes and takes the whole song to another level.
Incredible technique, highly innovative ideas and feeling. What else can one ask for?
I cannot really praise the song as much as it deserves. I am really happy that in my 50’s and after 40 years of love for metal, I’m still discovering new bands that excites me so much!
If the rest of their songs are at such a level, with the right promotion, this band should become huge!

Usually I am not a fan of clean vocals, but Javi has a powerful voice, and surprisingly it really fits with obsidious general sound.

Oh my god this is so bad ass. This is the fourth time in a row I have listened to it and had not heard it before today. Before I grabbed my phone to get a good look at the band, I knew it had to be musicians at the top of their game. Low and behold, out of all the musicians it could have possibly been, I immediately recognized Linus Klausenitzer, Sebastian Lanser, and Rafael Trujillo! The sheer amount of talent alone between those three dudes literally defy the laws of physics and might break space time one day if someone isn't careful. This just made my day.
I'm loving this song already. Didn't thought clean vocals would mesh so well with you guys style of play but it's totally amazing. Vocals are Ne Obliviscaris- esque. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Great job guys!
I'm late to the party but holy balls.... I thought Diluvium's drumming was complex. This is pure technical prowess! Also, have not heard of this vocalist before but I'm very pleased how well he fits! Can't wait for more.

Holy shit! You guys are bad ass. I still spin Primal Impulse almost on a daily basis. The only problem with it is there are only 4 tracks! Each one is absolutely bad ass so at least it was 4 fantastic tracks and not one good one with 3 that left me like ehhhh. Seriously, it's so cool to have came across this comment right now. The track is a total banger, it grabbed my full attention for the whole 6-ish minutes
The only small problem for me was that i don't think the clean vocals fit with the first half of the song... the second half was perfect for it, though
