    Advice for newbies - NEVER REPEAT THESE! Using mains voltage directly is extremely dangerous. Always use galvanic separation from mains - e.g. transformers

      I took up basic electronics as a hobby about 2 years ago. My hobbies are things I enjoy...and getting electrocuted by a mains supply is NOT something I'd enjoy. All of my electronics tinkering is firmly low-voltage :)

    @1:25, that resistor is dissipating .85W, meaning it is seriously overloaded. It's a dangerous circuit -- never connect stuff directly to the mains.

    At the first one , you can use a 12volt adapter rather than using transformerless adapter that shown in the video. it equals 12v because the led is connected using series and they use 4 meaning 1 led = 3v, 3 x 4 = 12 meaning it can powered by a car battery and also an adapter. I'd recommend you all to use the 12v adapter

    • @alexkirlian
      @alexkirlian Před 10 měsíci +1

      Mesmo assim, seria necessário um resistor de valor baixo, de 47 ou 100 ohms em série. Ou ligar 5 LEDs em série, no lugar de 4.

  • @perwestermark8920
    @perwestermark8920 Před 2 lety +5

    People who do not know electronics would get more use out of the video if you describe what the circuits does.
    Without understanding how a LED functions, it isn't obvious how the voltage divider functions to allow the LEDs to be powered from mains.
    And neither is it obvious to a beginner how the capacitor charge/discharge is used to control the transistor to create a simple timer light. How the switch can charge the capacitor and that the transisyor turns off when the capacitor has been discharged through the resistor. A beginner would also not understand that R*C affects how long the lamp will be on, and that a bigger resistor makes the discharge slower. Or a larger capacitor means more energy to discharge. So either component can be changed to change the time.

    • @Ev-wj3lm
      @Ev-wj3lm Před 2 lety +2

      People who are interested in EE should watch real channels (there are so many excellent ones!) and not these clueless indian ones. They do extremely sketchy and dangerous stuff. Of course they couldn’t explain! These exposed live wires are a death trap for any inexperienced beginner
