- Super Mario bros wonder has been out for about 3 months now and while the game was absolutely phenomenal, most people agree it was over pretty quick! Lucky for us there’s always a possibility for more DLC to come in the future! Today I’ll be taking a look at previous Mario games: Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros 2, and New Super Mario Bros U to determine if Mario wonder is getting dlc and what I think that dlc could be! So join me as I give my DLC speculation and predictions for super mario bros wonder!

A level expansion with even more new wonder effects would be amazing, maybe even new characters
The only other issue with new levels is that they’ll need to call back all of the voice actors for the Talking Flowers to record new lines in all language which might be a process and a half!

I think we will see standees and challenge mode with new wiggler races and ko arena. Maybe a few new badges like a Rosalina spin badge. Probably no new levels because the situation is similar to odyssey.

There's one possibility you seemed to completely forget about... *Badges.* DLC badges would be the easiest and more impactful way they could go about having DLC.
I personally would love to see playable Rosalina, Wario, Waluigi, and maybe Captain Toad. Captain Toad especially felt like more of an afterthought in Wonder, since he doesn't do much but give you purple coins as a reward for finding him... Imagine if they had special jumpless levels where you play as Captain Toad (though... I guess that would be too similar to the Goomba...).
It might be a bit of a stretch, but imagine if they had a Bowser mode where you played as Bowser? Basically just a power trip character that has the abilities of the Elephant and Fire Flower combined. Its very unlikely but it would be awesome to see.
And I feel like there were a _lot_ of wonder effects that went underutilized... I get that having them appear in multiple levels makes them less special, but they still had repeat wonder effects already so I don't see why they could do it for many of the underused effects.
A self-contained bonus "DLC World" filled with a bunch of levels (like 1.5x the average world) of varying difficulty is my prediction
Return to the mushroom Kingdom koopalings back with wonder effects making them no longer the same copy paste bosses with the final boss being kamek

Wonder Koopalings. I remember people hating them and now wanting them back thanks to Jr (good for me since I always liked them). Basically they would be bosses who simillary to Jr would use wonder powers to their advantage. However these powers could be based on their personalities and interests like Larry's sport obsession (my man uses tennis rackets 80% of the time he is in RPGs, why wasn't he added to any Mario Tennis games?) and Ludwig being based on Beethoven (another pianist boss fight would be fun).

Lemmy and the bouncy balls would probably work really well for this game too, also yeah, Larry not being in Tennis Aces but Fire Piranha plant is? That's kinda dumb.
An interesting idea would be to add a new world focused on Old Power Ups. I think it would be neat to have a level focused on using a Propeller Shroom, and then the Wonder Effect be related in some way. Maybe a level focused on the Ice Flower or Penguin Suit. Maybe make it a water level where you're supposed to freeze enemies to progress, and then the Wonder Effect freezes over all the water.
And maybe the Frog Suit for a silly one.
And for beating those levels, you unlock a badge that makes those Power Ups spawn in regular levels.
Maybe add a Captain Toad mode called Captain Toad Wonder, where all the playable characters are Toads, and maybe Baby Yoshis for easy mode, but you are unable to jump. This would make Red Toad technically playable in a mainline game.

Above Shining Falls on the map, there's an empty space resembling Outer Space. Shining Falls was really short, so I would love to see that empty space become a new world based on Outer Space!
There's also a lot of extra space on the top left, above Pipe-Rock Plateau.

If I were to ask for one thing to be added to SMB Wonder as DLC, it would be a level maker that allows us to create, share, and play other levels.

Or better yet, there needs to be Super Mario Maker 3, which needs to include even more course elements: more playable characters, such as Peach and Daisy; more enemies and bosses; more course themes, such as the beach and volcano themes; and a new extra game style, namely the Super Mario Bros. Wonder game style. As for the Super Mario 3D World game style, they need to add the additional move sets from the Nintendo Switch version of said game, such as the quick Warp Pipe entrances and the diving move, both of which were first used in Super Mario Odyssey.

@@micahheyward5342 I previously mentioned that Peach and Daisy need to be added to the playable character roster in Super Mario Maker 3. For the New Super Mario Bros. U style, they could take their playable character assets from Super Mario Run and rework them for the New Super Mario Bros. U style. Peach’s voice clips for the New Super Mario Bros. U style would likely be the same as Peachette’s in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Daisy’s voice clips for the New Super Mario Bros. U style will most likely be the same as in Super Mario Run, which reused Daisy’s voice clips from a multitude of Mario spin-off games. Peach’s playable assets from Super Mario 3D World will be easy to adapt for the corresponding game style in Super Mario Maker 3. As for Daisy’s voice clips, Deanna Mustard’s voice clips may likely be reused. Of course, Giselle Fernandez, the new voice of Daisy, may need to be brought in to record some additional voice clips, especially when it comes to Daisy’s cat form, which would be based on the Calico Cats from Bowser’s Fury. As for Mario and Luigi, Charles Martinet’s voice clips will most likely be reused for the New Super Mario Bros. U and Super Mario 3D World game styles, and Kevin Afghani’s voice clips from Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be reused for the corresponding game style.

I can think of maybe two of them. One can be all new wonder effects added to each level and a second one would be having to go through every stage using its wonder effect from the very beginning. These can add even more replay value

My predictions for Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Update
- Characters
Rosalina (This feels like the greatest choice cuz she has NEVER been in a 2D Mario Game in her life. Also, she won't be a easy mode character before anyone asks)
Toad (We have Yellow and Blue Toad so why not the Main Toad huh? This makes sense)
Swappable Yoshi Colors (You can change one of the Yoshi's Colors from it's original color. the standies will also change color to the four yoshis if yall were wondering)
- Power-Ups
Ice Flower (The Fire Flower exists so why not this one? Feels like a missed opportunity to add this)
Ghost Mushroom (Works exactly like the Boo Mushroom from Galaxy but instead of being a boo, You are transparent and not completely invisible like the invisibility badge, this allows you to walk through everything [except the ground] and enemies won't be able to see you)
Propeller Mushroom (This combined with the Boosting Spin Jump Badge, it will be OVERPOWERED)

I really REALLY would like the candy theme to be the new world if theres dlc, or a space theme or a cherry blossom one like in newer super mario bros wii. I also think some new powerups would be cool, like maybe a Thunder flower that makes you run faster and the projectiles can run on walls like amps. Or a Earth flower where you can aim the rocks you throw, or something cool like that, also some better bosses would be good as well.

I think a cool idea for DLC could be wonder flower only levels - kinda like how some of them are in the special world. That way they could reuse the old effects but also make a whole level designed around them!
Hear me out: Dream mode. The world map gets its colors inverted and you have to complete harder versions of all the levels and some bonus ones might appear

I love so much your courses, why I'm the only one that still play Maker Games?
I honestly think we should get character abilities such as a mid air jump similar to daisy’s double jump or peaches float.
We can also get certain game changes such as the nsmbwii multiplayer physics, (aka bullying each other), or the ability to use more badges like in a hat in time or returning powerups from both the 2D, 3D & none mainline mario games like the ice flower & the wings from smb special edition & M&LSS respectively. We could also get dlc stages that could be brand new stages or a remake of an entire game such as nsmb’s world 7 since its possible the closest world in the nsmb games that feels like it could have been in wonder with stuff like the ghost house or giant wiggler or even a remake of the entirety of nsmb2’s dlc to give it a second chance to come back since the 3ds/wiiu eshop.
Also fun fact: nsmbds’s versus mode has been remade on pc. I absolutely recommend it.
I think New Badges and Badge Challenge Levels are the most likely thing to get added tbh.
It would provide "New ways to play the game" and since Badge Challenge levels never used wonder effects, they wouldn't have to program new ones in.
Since you've bought it up briefly in the past, about how close are you to finishing the MK8dx course ranking?
Fun fact: Modders figured out that Wonder effects aren't that hard to program. Most of them boil down to "Spawn objects at X, and spawn Wonder Seed at Y". The Wonder Seed isn't even required, because the game surprisingly doesn't crash if it's not present (unlike similar collectables in previous Mario games). There's exceptions of course, like the transformations and the wall running ones, but most of them are surprisingly simple.
I had an idea for a video you could do if you don’t have an idea. It would be a ranking of every level theme from super Mario maker 2, either their edit versions, normal versions, normal version + night versions, or just everything I just mentioned.

I believe if Wario was added as a playable character as DLC. It would be cool if they treated him as a harder mode campaign sort of like Knuckles was in Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Like the Shoulder Bash could be added to his moveset but it replaces the spin jump and Wario's jump doesn't reach as high like you said. But maybe that allows him to speed through levels better the rest of the cast. Along with remixing preexisting levels to add challenges only Wario can conquer or alternate paths. There could be a lot of potential to a solo Wario DLC.
I feel like our only hope for DLC is if it gets announced in the February direct.
I think the most possible to happend is something like the e-reader levels from Mario Advance 4, a new world with some random levels you can buy

I feel like it would be cool to bring DLC that’s somewhat similar to World-e in Advance 4, where you can go to the store to buy cards that unlock new levels or whatnot. Not individually though, but more like a 3 pack of level cards. That would be cool.
Whatever they do, I hope they add even harder levels that revolve around specific wonder effects or better, revolve around specific badges

The Wario land move set is probably the most fun I’ve had with the 2d Mario move set.
Challenge mode would be much easier to add than multiplayer vs. there’s a huge difference between clear conditions and an entire game mode

I think the most likely thing will be new badges for free. It's a quick and easy way to add replayability. Maybe we'll get double the badges, too.

I'd love to see costumes that can be purchased from Poplin shops, like in Super Mario Odyssey. I would also like more levels, kind of like New Super Luigi U
I Think It Would Make Sense For A Paid DLC To Combine These Aspects Instead Of Just A Single One Of Them. So This Is What My Ideal DLC Would Look Like:
For Starters, There Would Be Four New Characters, Two Normal And Two Easy. The Normal Characters Would Be Rosalina And A Particularly Brave Poplin, Who Decided To Take Matters Into Their Own Hands. The First Easy Character Would Be Wario Like You Mentioned. He'd Have The Size And Strength Of An Elephant But Without The Trunk Attacks, And When At Max Speed He Would Initiate A Shoulder Bash Which Can Blitz Through Most Enemies And Blocks With Ease. The Second Would Be Birdo, Who Doesn't Have The Flutter-Jump, Tongue Or "Rideability" Of Yoshi, But Can Shoot Eggs That Damage Enemies And Be Stood Upon By Her And Other Players. Like Yoshi, Both Of Them Would Only Be Knocked Back When Hit.
Then There's The New Campaign. Shortly After His Defeat, Bowser Decided To Try Taking Over The Mushroom Kingdom Using The Wonder Flowers, Since They Wouldn't As Used To Their Effects As The Flower Kingdom. A Sack Of Wonder Flowers Also Spills Out And Causes Them To Appear All Over The Kingdom. This DLC Would Bring Back The Mini Mushroom And Penguin Suit (But Not The Ice Flower) As Power-Ups Exclusive To The Mushroom Kingdom (They Can Still Be Brought Into Flower Kingdom Levels Though).
Finally, There's A New Expert Badge, The "EPIC Wonder Badge". This Remixes All The Levels And Makes Them More Difficult (Though The Layout Changes Would Be Much Smaller), As Well As Changing How Some Of The Wonder Effects Play Out. For Example, "Bulrush Coming Through!"s Stampede Would Be Replaced With The Giant Spike Ball From "Rolling Ball Hall".

I hate most search party levels , except one that I loved the power up showcase one
imo the fact that the dev team had no time limit or crunch tells me that they were able to put in all the ideas they wanted. If there isn't much left on the table then I don't see them adding anything more. If there's nothing else _to_ add then it might feel forced or half-assed.
I would be happy to be proven wrong, but in an era where it feels like every game released half-finished and you have to pay extra for more content, I'm perfectly content with a game like SMB Wonder where you buy the game, and you actually get the full game.
I think it would be fun if there's a music 🎵 menu, it can function the same as MK8DX and/or Super Mario Odessey
•Give us wario and waluigi so we have 4 boys

•for the love of god give us green toad so we have 4 toads
•give nabbit 3 friends to go with his gimmick of “most boring character to play”
•give us stamps in maps again so we have more collectibles and let us use those stamps at standees

Honestly what would be epic but most likely very unlikely would be DLC bosses like in the Worlds that don't have bosses or even add a castle in the Worlds with bowser Jr and make him a mini boss again very unlikely but that geuinely revive the game for me

The only dlc that I could see coming is battle/challenge mode, since characters, badges, standies, and powerups would probably require more to 100% the game. It makes no sense to add an update that takes away the status of completion.

Badges that make Farming Purple Coins faster like Purple Coins giving you 5x more Purple Coins.
More Power-Ups: Frog Suit, Ice Flower, Penguin Suit, Cat Suit, Peachette, and A New one.

Oooo wario could be some kind of hard mode, just imagine: you, this fatso, his shoulder bash, 1 hit, no power ups and a lower jump, that sounds fun as hell
If they add any new playable characters I dont think they’ll play any different than the ones we have now. If they wanted the characters to have different abilities they would have already done that.
I really hope it does get dlc. It might be my favorite game of all time, but it is really short.
Hopefully this game will mark the game where we can play as the myths, the legends- WARIO AND WALUIGI!
I kind of want a boss rush mode, but you have do it in a Wonder state. Like imagine fighting Wonder Bowser jr. in the lava stage as tall Mario or Spike Ball Mario for the final boss.
This may sound super chaotic to all of you, but I want a total of 4 DLC waves, each focusing on a specific character(s). I want this game to have a total of 20 players characters.
Wave 1 should focus on the Toads; the remaining 3 Toad colors: red, green, and purple can be added to the character roster. I really don’t want a new story (at least not for this wave, or Wave 2), but rather a mission involving Captain Toad and the Toad Brigade. The mission could be that the whole Toad Brigade has gotten lost in a level of specific worlds, and you have to enter that level, find the member of the Brigade, and rescue him by clearing the level. After rescuing the whole Brigade, they might reward you with a brand new Captain Toad themed level that comes with its own Wonder Effect!
Wave 2 should focus on the Yoshis and Nabbit. This DLC wave should fix the Yoshi play style; since a lot of us (if not, ALL of us) hate (or strongly dislike) Yoshis not taking damage in this game, a new feature should be added to the Main Menu: “Yoshi Damage”. When playing as a Yoshi, if you don’t want to not take damage, pause for the Main Menu, and you’ll find “Yoshi Damage On/Off”. When you see it, it will be set to Off, so change it to On, and voila! Yoshis will now take damage when hit by an enemy, just like the normal characters! Yoshis should also have their own unique way of growing back to normal size after being enemy struck: they eat and auto-swallow 5 enemies. There can also be more Yoshi colors added to the roster; the ones I want are pink, dark blue, and orange, making that a total of 7 Yoshis. There should also be a brand new Yoshi themed level with its own Wonder Effect located in the intro section of Pipe-Rock Plateau. This on/off damage feature should only be for the Yoshis and not for Nabbit. Here’s why, not taking damage from enemies has already been Nabbit’s main ability in previous Mario games, so this ability feels right for HIM and not the Yoshis. However, this doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get a new ability, I actually have something special in mind for Nabbit, and it involves the Item Balloon mechanic. Since Nabbit is a thief of some sorts, he is always seen carrying a sack. So, why not upgrade the Item Balloon mechanic exclusively for him? This is especially beneficial when playing in Local Multiplayer. Nabbit can now have the ability to store a certain amount of power-ups in his sack, and share them with other players! You press SL/SR or ZL/ZR to select which power-up to share.
Wave 3 should focus on Donkey Kong. THIS is the DLC wave I want to have a new story, starring DK! Here’s how I think it should go: Prince Florian invites Mario and friends once again to visit a jungle-based island located south of the Flower Kingdom (specifically the Petal Isles), there they meet the prime primate himself, who then asks Mario and friends for help on a dangerous journey to take back his home from a new threat using the power of Wonder for an evil purpose, just like Bowser did. You can now play as DK- Donkey Kong- HUH! His moveset should be exactly the same from the DKC games: he barrel rolls, ground pounds with his hands, vine swings, wall clings, and corkscrews when underwater. A new ability is added as well: Elephant Riding! If another character is in Elephant Form, DK can jump on the back and ride it across the level, just like Rambi the Rhino and other animal partners from the DKC games! This new ability also increases Elephant Form’s speed. DK should also be allowed to use power-ups- not all of them though. I think he should be allowed to use 3 power-ups: the Fire Flower, Bubble Flower, and Drill Mushroom. Finally, time for the most unique feature of all. DK shouldn’t shrink in size when struck by an enemy like the other characters, instead, he loses a heart like in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze. In order for things to not look weird in the Life Number section of the screen, DK should have 2 small hearts displayed above him in levels.
The Final Wave should focus on Wario. This DLC wave should have a new story as well. Here’s how I think it should go: Prince Florian invites his hero friends to a mysterious and secluded world located in the far east of the Flower Kingdom- deep in the vast desert beyond Sunbaked Desert. This world is the Flower Kingdom’s treasure keep, filled with endless amounts of beautiful and shiny treasures. However, Wario finds out about this place before everyone else and arrives first, grabbing as much treasure he can get his greedy W-marked gloves on. Things go awry when he accidentally drops his giant pile of treasure on a Wonder Flower, causing the treasure to come to life and turn into monsters. He has no choice but to team up with Mario and friends to defeat the treasure monsters, turn them back to normal, and save the Flower Kingdom’s treasure keep. Who’s Wario without his iconic shoulder dash attack from the Wario Land games? He could also have a few other moves, like a “Super Fart”, or the shaking ability from Wario Land: Shake It! (this is just a maybe.) Another way Wario can be super unique is a different Elephant Form! Instead of turning into a normal elephant like everyone else, he could turn into an ugly woolly mammoth! He should also be noticeably bigger and the only character in Elephant Form Yoshis can’t carry.

I think if this game got DLC, it would let you travel back to the Mushroom Kingdom and have levels inspired by Mario Wonder’s art style in the Mushroom Kingdom. The main theme would be the New Super Mario Bros. Theme! (No Wonder Flowers there)
