    Setting it up seems much easier than packing it away - thanks for explaining this

    IMO once it's deflated it's better to fold both sides in longways, following the seams on top of the sides. Then I roll it towards the end with the vents, and when I reach the vents I roll it from the other end. The bag then goes over what's left easily, without it needing another difficult fold, and rather than trying to handle the boat into the bag. Easy peasy.

    I'm new to kayaking especially inflatable kayaking thank you for the very informative video. May I ask a question about inflating. I'm having trouble with valves four and five the end of the kayak on each end. They seem to deflate as soon as I remove the air pump from the valve. What am I doing wrong.

      Just be careful reeling in a hook without a fish. Snagging the boat could be a bad move, life preserve needed. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps me.

    Deflating the k2 is a pain with that cheap pooltoy floor valve. The carry bag it came with is a joke. It ripped on me before I even had the thing inflated. I ended up getting a large laundry bag for it.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  Před rokem

      Same. We use a IKEA blue bag that is more sturdy. Biggest let down is the bag, just glad the boat doesn't tear as easily. Do like the video and subscribe as really helps me.

    I just purchased an Intex Explorer K2. Was used once by previous owner. I cannot get the skag out. I am getting frustrated. Please advise on how to do this. I am sure it is not hard once you know the secret. Thanks all for the help

    • @ratemygadgets

      If you mean the inlet valve then 2 tricks. 1. Push it out from inside, that means pushing through the deflated lining and it out with your thumb. 2. Get a pair of narrow pliers to pull out BUT be really careful not to damage the plastic valve when pulling it out. Hope it helps. Please do like and subscribe as really helps me

    Any idea how to clean this inflateable? Should I inflate first to clean? I like to use dish soap.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  Před rokem

      Yes, I would recommend inflating and then cleaning. Reason is otherwise can be difficult as it creases. Spraying with a light hose and a wet towel is what works for me best. Let it dry and in a clean area, repackage. That is what I do so not sure if best technique but works for me. Hope helps. Please do subscribe as really helps me.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  Před 2 lety

      There is a ruler that comes with the pack. Basically you hold it up against the inflated sides to check the diameter has got to the required level. Probably making no sense. Hope helps. Please do like and subscribe as really helps.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  Před 2 lety

      Assume it is one of the big side Chambers. If so, then for one hole there are two caps where one sits inside the other. The reason is that the inside cap has a valve. You should see a means to pull the second cap out. Please do subscribe as really helps.

      Yeah, I agree. Thank you for letting me know with the feedback. Now I don't include any background music, I did this in the early days and as you say, distracts from the instructions. Bottom takes forever to deflate and requires two people or one person ten feet tall. Why couldn't they put the same kind of valve in the bottom as on the sides which deflate very quickly? Doesn't make sense. Wish I'd known this when I bought it.

      @ratemygadgets  Před 2 lety

    would like more detail on rolling it up. I followed the directions as best I could and there was NO WAY it would fit in the bag.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  Před 2 lety

      It is tight and to be honest the bag is useless. It is so flimsy and I am now looking to buy a sturdier option.

    • @gordon1545
      @gordon1545 Před rokem +1

      To get it in the bag, lie it flat, fold one side in - using the top seam as your guide - then fold the other side in. Roll up what's left, starting at the end furthest from the valves. Then place the open bag over the boat, rather than trying to put the boat in the bag. It goes easily for me every time.

    • @cmryle
      @cmryle Před 2 lety

      You have to hold down the latches with one hand and knock it off with the other using a 2x4 or the edge of a paddle, something like that. Another product deficiency.

    Did you even record this video? It sounds like you found someone else's footage and tried to describe it.
    This absolutely does not help getting it into the bag. I just tried to do it for the first time and it was extremely frustrating. Your roll was 10x shittier than my best attempt and it still is a tight fit
