@@johntruxal432 I would rather they lose with clark getting defensive experience, than benching her for players that are returning players and losing anyways. Boston's +/- was -18 in only 15 minutes. She seems to have screwed up her off season training and didn't show up properly prepared. It makes no sense to give a returning player any leeway on this. If they show up unprepared, they need to be cut. Rolling the dice on improvements is only for new draftees, returning players need to manage their own preparation or be cut for new draftees. Boston can go play internationally and try out next season.

Clark is such an incredible student of the game. Listening to her breakdown what happened in the game is amazing. She clearly understands what’s going on and what needs to happen.
She knows how to make the right play most of the time, and not usually force it. Their other scorer (her name is slipping my mind at the moment) forced quite a few shots last night.

I don't get it. The team is having problems on defense and the coach has Celeste Taylor (who is the 2024 & 2023 Defensive Player of the Year from 2 conferences) and she just sits her on the bench. I bet this game would have been totally different if she had Celeste and Berger playing. Why bother having these players on your roster if you are not going to play them. I just don't get it.

Sides playing her favorites, Wallace and Wheeler, neither of which really contributed. Wallace was late with her passes today. There were several times CC would come around to top of arc, and Wallace would be a second late with the pass to where CC would have an open look. Then, like Sides actually admitted here, that pass to Samuelson was a second late. Guess who passer was? Wallace. Then coach has Wallace as the inbounder with next attempt & guess what? She was late with the pass to CC once again, resulting in the pass being behind CC which is why CC had trouble handling it. Not sure why CC got the TO.

Caitlin Clark will relax and continue to put up great stats because I think she realizes win or lose she is here to quietly through her play, demonstrate to the naysayers that, through the adjustments from college to WNBA she is still A POWERFUL FORCE. Her court instinct is unsurpassed and she will rise as one of the great players this year, making a huge splash where some only wished her transition was more brutal and hoped she stumbled. No stumbling or stopping CC as her razor focus will still make the game exciting anywhere she goes, win or lose as a team…because GREATNESS PROVES ITSELF THROUGH ADVERSITY, both mentally and physically. Thank you CC for showing young athletes the ingredients that make A CHAMPION!🏀🏀🏀👍

Sides can be a sideline reporter since she wants to be friends with everyone. She is too friendly with players because she won't cut someone like boston that showed up unprepared. This league has really good unsigned draftees and vets who can play better than boston at the drop of a hat. If boston gets her shit together and plays somewhere else in the off season to get ready, let her try out next season.
"We have to find wins" is a nonsense statement from the coach who benched clark in the 4th and threw the win away.
She seems to have compliments for everyone but CC.
I have been saying this since this team started playing and Caitlin focused on it in her comments: rebounding. They started this season NOT rebounding at all. On offense, if they missed a shot, they just shrugged their shoulders and let the other team take the rebound away. On defense, other teams were grabbing rebounds like crazy with almost nobody around them, while on offense Fever players under the basket always seemed to be surrounded by two or three defenders grasping for that ball. It was their biggest most obvious weakness and all the talk about "transition defense" and the like was not FOCUSED enough on this one key issue. Caitlin says it here, 21 points on 17 offensive rebounds. That's the game. Cut the other side's offensive rebounds in half, and this team wins the last three games.
Wholeheartedly agree. There were multiple green jerseys under the basket EVERY possession- going both was. We lacked aggression rebounding. They stood around on soooo many possessions. CC has a great knowledge of the game and a great IQ- coach needs to trust when she says she’s more effective at the 1. Making her take the 2 halted momentum. Because even when she was 1 but didn’t score, she was still more effective at passing the ball around to open players.

Never understood hiring someone who predominantly has lost during her entire career. Last time Sides was in Indy, it was abysmal, so Dunn figures she deserves to become head coach. Shame on Lin Dunn. I love the "winning is fun" comment. As if she would know.
@donnamoore2832 I thought I heard Lin Dunn in the draft presser say that she hired Christie because of her southern roots. It certainly wasn't her affiliation with losing teams as an assistant coach. That kinda sets the Fever up with a coach who's comfortable with losing. I'm all for someone getting a chance, but with that chance, you got to show you can learn from your mistakes... in other words, competency!

I've noticed Clark is starting to say more that she's better with the ball in her hands, etc. When she first started she wasn't saying that, but she's now starting to say what the fans have been saying. Isn't what she's saying going against Coach Sides' gameplan? Sounds like she's basically calling the coach out, like her fans have been doing.
I think she's just recognizing her strengths and weaknesses.

Those lost 17 offensive rebound opportunities hurt. It seems to me that having one more center of 6’6 or more would help a lot. You can only block out so much if the opponent towers over our players. We can’t expect Boston to play that position full time every game.

I think and feel that ya’ll need to get stops early on in the game instead of later on because that will help ya’ll, also eliminate the turnovers, and the the offense to come as a collective to build a connection and be consistent and confident as well as the defense to be on the same page, once ya’ll get that together and for the whole team to work together as a team ya’ll will be fine, ya’ll got this, and for the team to stick to the schemes the whole 40 mins ya’ll will be fine

A greatly improved team however the common denominator to each game of major deficits seems to lie in the offensive and defensive rebounding for the Fever. Got to have more CONSISTENT strength in the paint!!! Key points not gained or lost comprise these little close but not wins. Wish we could acquire another strong forward/center in exchange for a guard. May be too late for Boston to get in the shape and consistency needed at her position and hoping others will fill that role in a major playing time way.
