- The Indiana Fever dropped to 1-8 Thursday after a 103-88 loss to the Seattle Storm. It was the highest points allowed this season and a season-high scored by the Storm.
Defense was the No. 1 issue. The Storm outscored them 34-18 in the third quarter, shooting 67% with zero turnovers. It was the second time this season the Fever have given up 100+ points.

I am glad to hear Coach Sides speak about the refs. As a player, you don't know what to do when the refs let the opponent hack away and then call ticky-tack crap against you. You expect it to even out but I have watched every Fever game and it has not evened out. It seems the refs fear being called out for being too soft on Caitlan and the Fever. Note to WNBA: bad reffing is turning the viewer off, ya better fix it, and soon!

It's not bad reffing simply for her ...the entire league needs new refs. But she can not let refs get in her head. Accept that you're not gonna get any breaks! Play without expecting anything to go your way,then " hit first" ! Not literally,but drive every single time,and I mean every time! Create contact be physical and aggressive. I would tell her make the officials adjust to your style... period. But no one's out to get her.

Seattle shot the lights out but it was the officiating that took this game over the second half. It is so INEPT not to be looked into. The lack of consistency as it is applied from one team to the other and creates suspicion that needs to be investigated, especially in the case of Charles Watson #29. Is there outside betting on games by officials? IDK.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon but Up until tonight I thought the officiating was just because she (CC) is a rookie but damn they let her get hammered all game. Definitely don’t see that much contact on others.

On another note I have enjoyed watching the W this year and seeing so many absolute stars play ball. The Aces are loaded, Sun, Liberty and Seattle are really, really good.

Is it ever possible that cc need play better? Like moving the ball around instead of expecting teammates to shoot on the spot. She doesn't have the handles or strength to deal with defensive traps. She can't play the ball dominate role.
Pretty much all took the beatdown and were called for ticky tack at the other end. The league pays the refs. They get their marching orders from the league. Add the fact that they've played 2-4 more games than all the other teams tells me all I need to know about this woke league.

Yes good for her but when she says they’ve got to get better at this or that, I don’t think she knows how to make them better. I see a lot of wasted motion and no purpose on offense, poor screens and poor use of screens and that’s the coach’s job to fix it and it’s a real big problem.
Coach still can't figure out how to manage Clark's on court time. Seems like she decided to silence the critics by leaving Clark in the entire game when she could have easily taken her out for a break this game since there was no momentum or runs really.

It's the point guard's job to get the ball to the right spot of their teammate. Broadcast said she is being guarded the toughest in the W. FACE GUARD FULL COURT WITH SLIDING DOUBLE TEAM. The 3rd t.o was to Smith who fumbled it and other 2 were stripped while driving by second defender, yet she puts up 30, 20 points and avg 8 assists. Being knowledgeable matters.

CC body language is so down. Her demeanor is so low. I know this team can win games, but they seem to give less of what they are capable of in the 3rd , 4th quarters. Glad to see Coach fight for some refs calls. Refs called some very questionable calls. I won't desert this team. I'll keep hoping they'll win the next game. CC got 20 pts. They'll get out of the slump.

As much as I have been critical of Sides, I can see she is frustrated at the situation she finds herself. What the hell was that game?, half basketball n WWE is what I saw. The league wants us to watch their games but with these kinda refs why would we. I didn't like the loss, 🥴 but the Technicals were kinda fun 😃 Sides in the coaches face, and Caitlin showing her fiery side. Lots of good plays, but the ball just wouldn't fall sometimes.
Sides finally stood up for her players!! The single one thing I've liked her doing so far. And Clark is learning the W fast! She's no pushover and was glad she ain't afraid to show it!! Worth the T!!

Should've called a timeout before the 24pt deficit. It was 7pts at half time then Seattle started shooting the lights out omg. On the bright side, Lyss did amazing and got her double double so Sides shouldn't bench her! AB too with the double double! Officiating was subpar and ruined the game for them.

Was Sides playing defense for the Fever today? The entire Fever team was missing wide open shots today. Players have to be accountable as well. Mitchell was 5/16, Clark was 6/17 when your shot is not falling you have to find a way to effect the game.

They both had poor shooting nights, the team didn't play well defensively, Seattle did whatever they wanted offensively. It was a team loss. Clark was not in the corner the 4th corner stop with that narrative. Anyway the 4th quarter was garbage time as the Storm snatched the Fever players soul in the the 3rd quarter. The storm upped their defense, moved the ball around on offense, outrebounded the Fever. The Fever loss was a team loss, Is Sides a great coach, no but the players have to step up. They are a young team but these players have been playing competitive ball too long to come out in the 3rd quarter looking like a deer in headlights.

She kept a very level head in a situation that could've been worse. In no way do I blame Clark, I get it! I wouldn't want to take that bs either but it never fails it's always the reaction and not the action when it comes to Ts. It's an unwritten rule that I've never liked but so it goes.

NS, AB, others played really well. CC said it all around the 4min mark. I feel like this is just a psychic flogging for no reason. The team has a bunch of relatively new players, has just started playing together 5 or 6 weeks ago, and has had a punishing schedule. This is the W. I am annoyed by the questions. Why beat a dead horse? The team is not where they wish they were, they’ll improve, most of us can relate on some level, how about asking these pro athletes how they persevere?
Man I can't stop thinking about what Lebron said with how a lot of his team was against him when he first got in the league. Watching the reporters questions I can see how other players would get upset at the attention Caitlin gets. It's got to be difficult for her knowing this battle going on with her supporters vs much of the WNBA. I feel like NaLyssa wants to blame Caitlin's defense some, maybe they all do, but they can't really say it. It's a very difficult situation for everyone involved given the media circus. I think Caitlin should try and move on to another league after this season. Maybe overseas or Ice Cubes league. This situation losing every game with all of the drama surrounding them has to be unbearable.

THE WNBA doesn't want Caitlin (therefore also The Fever) to win. This needs to be deeply looked into, if I am wrong so be it, but they need to look into it nevertheless.
FEVER fans. Great things sometimes take time. Listen: it takes time. Some GOATS in the NBA (and other sports) have needed not only one or two seasons, but sometimes quite a few SEASONS to have winning seasons. Be patient, Caitlin will be on fire eventually, but the WNBA needs looking into by legal teams/inspectors/etc.
DON'T be discouraged by the haters/racists and their comments: keep supporting CC22 and The Fever.
Leadership is lacking no physicality on defensive end from the frontline . How can CC take hard fouls and her teamates not have her back to foul just as hard to the opposing . If its physical be physical period . Make the refs have to call it

Temi's foot injury will likely keep her out for most of the remaining season. She and Caitlin have the best on court chemistry because Temi is almost as quick running the floor as super soph Hannah Stuelke at Iowa. Team desperately needs more talent, which is going to take a few seasons....
Contrary to the groupthink "couch coaches" of the internet, I actually like Coach Sides, and she's been put in an impossible situation with a roster that can't defend, and almost no practice time, because this season has been compressed and compromised in order to accommodate the Olympics.

She was drafted n1 overall for a reason, to help the fever, second this the WNBA not the NCAAW. The team is very average offensively and defensively, the only things they can do is to trust the process and hope for the best.
